Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Primary Objectives: To evaluate the Quality of Life (QoL) score of adding oral Oligo Fucoidan to platinum-based chemotherapy in comparison with placebo in subjects with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). Secondary Objectives: To assess the progression-free survival (PFS) and objective response rate (ORR) of adding oral Oligo Fucoidan to platinum-based chemotherapy in comparison with placebo in subjects with NSCLC.

NCT ID: NCT02882503 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Neuroendocrine Tumors

Endoscopic Ultrasound Guided Radiofrequency Ablation (EUS-RFA) for Small Benign Pancreatic Tumors

Start date: June 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Incidental pancreatic solid or cystic lesions are diagnosed with increased frequency due to the widespread use of abdominal cross-sectional imaging to investigate unrelated symptoms. Lesions such as neuroendocrine tumors (NET), mucinous cystadenomas and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) have the potential of malignant transformation. The standard treatment of solid or cystic pancreatic lesions with malignant potential has been surgical resection, with lesions in the pancreatic head requiring a Whipple resection whereas pancreatic tail lesions are treated with distal pancreatectomy. Both types of resection carry significant morbidity and mortality. The study would like to outline the feasibility, safety, adverse events and early results of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) - radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in pancreatic neoplasms.

NCT ID: NCT02822963 Withdrawn - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Impact of Anticoagulants and Antiplatelets in Patients on Transurethral Resection of the Prostate

Start date: March 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) is a common disease in urology among old men. If BPH symptom cannot be controlled by drugs, then transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), is recommended. Although the procedure is quit safe, these old men often take anticoagulants and antiplatelets to control cardiovascular diseases, which arose some concerns for their bleeding risk. The management of anticoagulation in patients undergoing surgical procedures is challenging because interrupting anticoagulation increases the risk of thrombotic events. At the same time, surgery and invasive procedures have associated bleeding risks that are increased by the anticoagulant administration. Now, the recommendation about anticoagulants and antiplatelets discontinuation had no concrete evidence, especially in TURP. Furthermore, there is no relative studies done in Taiwan population, which calls for further investigation.

NCT ID: NCT02605356 Withdrawn - Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trials

Phase 1b/2 Study Testing Radium-223 Dichloride/Bortezomib/Dexamethasone Combination in Relapsed Multiple Myeloma

Start date: October 2016
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will be conducted in 2 parts. The phase 1b part will be an international, phase 1b, open-label, dose-escalation assessment of radium-223 dichloride administered with bortezomib and dexamethasone in subjects with relapsed multiple myeloma. The primary endpoint of the phase 1b part is to determine the optimal dose of radium-223 dichloride in combination with bortezomib/dexamethasone for the Phase 2 portion of the study. The phase 2 part will be an international, phase 2, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled assessment of radium-223 dichloride versus placebo administered with bortezomib and dexamethasone, in subjects with relapsed multiple myeloma. Randomization (1:1) in the phase 2 part will be stratified by: - Prior bortezomib treatment (yes, no) - Prior treatment (1 prior line of treatment, >1 prior line of treatment) Approximately 30 subjects (10 subjects per cohort) will be enrolled in the phase 1b part of the study and approximately 196 subjects will be enrolled in the phase 2 part of the study.

NCT ID: NCT02467413 Withdrawn - Alzheimer's Disease Clinical Trials

Start date: January 30, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of BAC patients with Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia. The secondary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety of BAC patients with Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia.

NCT ID: NCT02436434 Withdrawn - Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

The Effect of Intra-articular Pulsed Radiofrequency in Osteoarthritis

Start date: May 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) is designed to alleviate pain by delivering an electrical field and heat bursts at a temperature less than 42°C to neural tissue. In contrast with conventional radiofrequency, PRF is controlled below 42°C without damage to nerves and many studies have shown its benefits in pain relief for certain kinds of chronic pain conditions. For lessening pain of certain joint arthropathy, the direct nerve block by application of PRF is difficult and complicated because the supplying nerve of joint is complex or small. Hence, some authors perform intra-articular PRF on the chronic painful joint for example, knee osteoarthritis, atlantoaxial joint, cervical facet joint sacroiliac joint, scapholunate and shoulder joint and the excellent long-term effects are reported. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of intra-articular PRF in osteoarthritis.

NCT ID: NCT02368990 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Non Small Cell Lung Cancer
