There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Some patients are having balance problems after cochlear implant surgery. There are contradictory reports about the effect of the implant on postural control. While the cochlear implant is working, an electrical current is continuously stimulating the cochlear nerve which is in close proximity with vestibular ganglion and nerve. This stimulation may contribute to vestibular signals to the central system. The aim of the study is to investigate if this stimulation has any effect on postural control.
CTG was harvested from 21 patients in each group. Donor site was treated with either GS (control) or GS+CY (test). Palatal tissue thickness, graft dimensions, working time (WT) and primary bleeding time were recorded intraoperatively. Patients recorded the quantity of analgesics (QA) taken, presence of secondary bleeding (SB) and pain perception (PP) daily for first postoperative week. Sensation loss (SL), color match (CM), epithelization level (EL) were evaluated at days 7, 14, 21 and 28.
Behcet' disease (BD) is a chronic inflammatory disease which is characterized by oral and genital ulcers, uveitis and skin lesions. Musculoskeletal involvement such as arthrits, arthralgia, enthesis and sacroiliitis can be seen in course of BD. FMF is an autosomal recessive family disease characterized by abdominal pain, chest pain, joint pain and fever attacks as a result of inflammation of the serous membranes. FMF patients have been shown to experience higher levels of pain, fatigue, depression and anxiety than healthy controls, and this has increased sleep disturbance and reduced quality of life. FMF and BiH have common characteristics such as ethnicity, etiopathogenetic mechanisms, symptoms, and treatment. In December 2019, after the officially detected coronavirus (severe acute respiratory syndrome coranavirus-2 [SARS-CoV-2]) resistant to unknown treatment and rapidly spreading coronavirus in our country on March 11, 2020 in Hubei province of China, the number of cases increased rapidly and virus was isolated in 670 patients within 10 days. Ongoing concerns about the spread of Covid-19 infections have caused many measures to be taken. Among them, social isolation, home quarantine and avoiding collective places are the most important. In our country, in the process of social isolation, the areas of movement of Behçet and FMF patients, like everyone else, were restricted, their stress and anxiety levels increased and their motivation decreased. The aim of our study is to compare the pain, sleep, fatigue, physical activity level and quality of life and question exercise habits before and after the covid-19 outbreak in patients with Behçet and FMF.
Scoliosis surgery is a major surgery associated with postoperative pain, loss of physical function and pulmonary dysfunction in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients (AIS).Despite the advanced, various medical treatment methods of pain applied in the postoperative period, the mean period of hospitalization is 5 to 7 days. The increasing health expenditures over the years have brought along the need for rehabilitation programs conducted in the early term. Although early mobilization has been accepted as a rule of thumb by spinal surgeons in preventing the performance loss and reducing the causes of morbidity in recent years, the investigators could not find any research on postoperative rehabilitation implemented on patients under the supervision of a physiotherapist, following scoliosis surgery. The aim of this study was to compare effect of five days of intensive postoperative rehabilitation and mobilization on length of hospitalization and outcome in patients having scoliosis surgery.
Our study is planned to investigate the effects of neck and trunk stabilization exercises, which are structured from Neurodevelopmental therapy method-Bobath concept (NDT-B) principles, on feeding and swallowing activity in children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) who take feeding and oral motor intervention strategies. The cases were divided into two groups, which is the group receiving feeding and oral motor intervention strategies+structured neck and trunk stabilization exercises (n=20) (Study Group) and those receiving feeding and oral motor intervention strategies (n=20) (Control Group).
Metrnl has proven to be an inflammatory-related immunoregulatory cytokine and shown to play a role in the pathogenesis of human inflammatory diseases. Metrnl is highly expressed from the oral mucosa to the esophagus. Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that can start with localized inflammatory reactions created by the supporting tissues surrounding the teeth against microorganisms and then result in loss of teeth. The authors think that Metrnl may play a role in the periodontitis. The aim of this study is to compare the Metrnl, IL-1β, and IL-10 levels of healthy and periodontitis individuals.
Problems such as breathlessness, exercise intolerance and loss of peripheral muscle strength can be observed in individuals who have been diagnosed with COVID19 and have been discharged. In our study, it was aimed to investigate the effect of telerehabilitation physical therapy intervention to these cases by using videoconferencing method on the physical condition of the cases.
To evaluate the proportion of subjects alive and free of respiratory failure (e.g. need for non-invasive or invasive mechanical ventilation, high flow oxygen, or ECMO) and free of the need for continued renal replacement therapy (RRT) on Day 28. The need for continued RRT at Day 28 will be defined as either dialysis in the past 3 days (Day 26, 27, or 28) or an eGFR on Day 28 <10 mL/min/1.73 m2.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the novel bidirectional cannula (BiflowTM, LivaNova, Italy) with specific design to ensure stable distal perfusion compared to conventional cannula with downstream line in patients undergoing femoral arterial cannulation for cardiopulmonary bypass during minimally invasive surgery
Behcet's disease (BD) is a chronic systemic inflammatory disease which is characterized by oral and genital ulcers, uveitis and skin lesions. Musculoskeletal involvement such as arthritis, arthralgia, enthesitis and sacroiliitis can be seen in the course of BD. Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is the most frequent autoinflammatory disease (AID) and characterized by selflimited episodes of fever and polyserositis. It is the most common monogenic periodic fever syndrome that affects mainly the people of Mediterranean descent. Regular physical activity involving aerobic and strengthening programs in inflammatory rheumatic diseases has a long-term anti-inflammatory effect. Eccentric exercises cause an acute increase in TNF alpha level and should be avoided especially at the beginning. It has been stated that patients should be encouraged about aerobic exercise programs where the intensity is gradually increased, starting with low intensity. Pilates method is the mind and body centering technique developed by Joseph Hubertus Pilates, based on providing lumbopelvic stability. FMF and BH have common characteristics such as ethnicity, etiopathogenetic mechanisms, symptoms, and treatment. When we look at the literature, there is no study on the effectiveness of exercise applications in FMF and Behçet patients. The purpose of our study; It is the comparison of the effectiveness of physical activity in patients diagnosed with Behçet and FMF and healthy individuals. In this context, with the short form of the International Physical Activity Evaluation Questionnaire, Behçet's patients whose physical activity level is inactive will be Group 1, FMF patients Group 2 and healthy controls with similar demographic characteristics will be Group 3. Pilates based exercise program will be applied to all 3 groups for 8 weeks, 2 times a week.
