The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of pranayama and deep breathing exercise in reducing fatigue and insomnia in patients receiving radiotherapy due to breast cancer. The randomized controlled interventional study was carried out with 60 patients divided into the pranayama (20), deep breathing exercise (20) and control group (20). Data were collected with the Piper Fatigue Scale (PFS), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS).

The Effect of Labor Induction With Oxytocin on Early Postpartum Hemorrhage, Perineal Integrity and Breastfeeding

Aim: This study has been planned as an observational study. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of labor induction with oxytocin on early postpartum hemorrhage, perineal integrity and breastfeeding. Materials and Methods: The sample consists of 88 healthy mother and infant pairs. The mothers in the case group will receive oxytocin induction before and after delivery. On the other hand, the mothers in the control group will not receive any oxytocin induction before delivery, and will receive oxytocin induction in the end of delivery. Data were collected by using the Personal Information Form, the LATCH Breastfeeding Diagnostic Scale, the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale, the follow-up bag for postpartum hemorrhage, and episiotomy healing assessment known as the REEDA Scale.

Effects of Basic Body Awareness Therapy on Patients With Chronic Neck Pain

The aim of this study was to compare the effects of Basic Body Awareness Therapy (BBAT) and conventional therapies (CT) on pain, balance and proprioceptive sensation of cervical region in patients with chronic neck pain. As a cross-over study, patients were divided into BBAT / CT (n=17) and CT / BBAT (n=18) groups. BBAT program has been implemented to patients within group BBAT / CT two days a week for 6 weeks while group CT / BBAT received the CT program during the same period. After the interval of 5-week, group BBAT / CT was treated with CT and group CT / BBAT was treated with BBAT. Pain severity with; Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), disability level with; Neck Disability Index (NDI), cervical proprioception with; Cervical Range of Motion Deluxe (CROM) device, balance with; Computerized Dynamic Posturography were evaluated. The evaluations were conducted before and after the first and second treatment.

Preoperative Immature Granulocyte Count and Percentage for Acute Appendisitis

Appendectomy is the most effective treatment option for acute appendisitis, which is the most commen emergent surgical pathology. However with in time period, surgical treatment borders are narrowed. Especially in uncomplicated acute appendicitis cases, nonoperative management (NOM) with antibiotherapies becomes primary treatment option. The COVID-19 pandemic, which is caused by 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and we encountered in the current process, has led to the re-questioning of surgical elective and emergency cases. Serious complications and increased mortality rates of the 2019-nCoV creates a novel problems of patient selection for emergent surgery and health care workers faced with potential health problems. As the same as the other surgical procedures, in the uncomplicated acute appendisitis cases NOM become more mandantory. NOM of uncomplicated acute appendisitis doen't increase perforation risk and general practice for decreasing surgical complications in the COVID-19 pandemic period. Additionally complicated acute appendicitis accounts for 20 to 30% of the patients undergoing appendectomy and lead to increased risk of postoperative complications, delayed recovery and longer hospital stay. Therefore, early diagnosis of complicated acute appendicitis is important; however, the most appropriate and inexpensive diagnostic method to make this diagnosis has not been established yet. Although the use of imaging methods is widespread, these methods are not accessible in many rural hospitals due to the high costs and unavailability of specialists. Thus, the need for an inexpensive and effective diagnostic technique allowing to make a differential diagnosis has not been met yet. For this purpose, several inexpensive and easily accessible blood parameter tests have been proposed; including the white blood cell count, immature granulocyte (IG) percentage, C-reactive protein levels or the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio. An increase in the IG count shows that the bone marrow is active. This parameter has been used as a prognostic factor in many infectious and non infectious diseases including sepsis, acute pancreatitis, and acute myocardial infarction. The Immature granulocyte (IG) fraction includes promyelocytes, myelocytes, and metamyelocytes but not band neutrophils or myeloblasts. The IG count and percentage has become an easy-to-use method, especially with the introduction of technological advances, as it can be easily determined using the results of a routine complete blood count. It is aimed to efficacy of IG count and percentage which are calculated automatically in CBC samples, to differatiate the complicated and uncomplicated acute appendicitis cases with a cheap, easily applicable and cost effective test, especially in rural areas without enough diagnostic tests in COVID-19 pandemy.

Methods: This study included 45 RA patients and 45 age and sex matched healthy controls. Blood samples from all subjects were taken and centrifuged before and immediately after the exercise intervention.

Investigation of Fatigue, Physical Activity, Sleep Quality and Anxiety Levels

Hundreds of thousands of confirmed cases have been reported worldwide, just 3 months after the first patients were identified in Wuhan, China. Just like other members of the community, MS patients are uncomfortable with the emotional distress and health anxiety caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. Most MS patients receive immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory therapies. Patients taking immunosuppressive agents are theoretically at increased risk of being affected by viral pandemics, and a higher health concern is expected in this group of patients. Moreover, MS patients lose social support. Patients with increased duration of stay can no longer access physical and cognitive rehabilitation therapies. We also know that increased anxiety and sleep disorders can cause MS patients to have an attack. When literature is examined, it is known that MS patients' physical activity levels decrease, fatigue, sleep quality and anxiety levels increase, so their quality of life and participation in daily life activities decrease. MS patients lose social support during the COVID-19 outbreak. For all these reasons, we think that the fatigue, physical activity level, anxiety level and sleep disturbances affected before the COVID-19 outbreak will be further affected for these reasons.
