There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate on-treatment efficacy against hepatitis D virus (HDV) of JNJ-73763989 + nucleos(t)ide analog (NA) regimen compared to NA alone.
The present study was to evaluate the effect of topical Arnica and MPSP application with respect to visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, maximal interincisal opening (MIO) and edema values after mandibular impacted third molar removal on days 1, 3, 5 and 10 postoperatively. The following null hypotheses of the present research were determined as follows: usage of topical agents would not influence i) VAS scores, ii) MIO values, and iii) edema values on 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 10th days after the mandibular impacted third molar surgery
An open-label, controlled, multi-site, interventional, 2-arm, Phase II trial of BNT113 in combination with pembrolizumab vs pembrolizumab monotherapy as first line treatment in patients with unresectable recurrent or metastatic HPV16+ HNSCC expressing programmed cell death ligand -1 (PD-L1) with combined positive score (CPS) ≥1. This trial has two parts. Part A, an initial non-randomized Safety Run-In Phase to confirm the safety and tolerability at the selected dose range level of BNT113 in combination with pembrolizumab. Part B, the Randomized part of the trial to generate pivotal efficacy and safety data of BNT113 in combination with pembrolizumab versus pembrolizumab monotherapy in the first line setting in patients with unresectable recurrent or metastatic HPV16+ HNSCC expressing PD-L1 with CPS ≥1. For Part B, an optional pre-screening phase is available for all patients where patients' tumor samples may be submitted for central HPV16 DNA and central PD-L1 expression testing prior to screening into the main trial.
The aim of this study is creating this platform and investigating whether performance evaluation of BLS trainings would be more objective compared to conventional OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) exams, if these evaluations were carried out with the platform which is combining OSCE scoring criteria with sensor data retrieved from the simulator's sensors.
Evaluate the safety and efficacy of palonosetron versus ondansetron to reduce and control post-operative nausea in bariatric surgery.
This study was designed as a randomized controlled experimental study to examine the effects of peer-interaction group support in adolescents with celiac disease (CD) in the 13-18 age group on the quality of life, friendship relations, and coping levels of adolescents. Six peer interactive group sessions were held with one week intervals with adolescents (n = 18) in the study group included in the sample for a period of 3 months. In the sessions, all participants were asked questions about the purpose of the session and a discussion environment was created. No training and counseling were provided to the adolescents in the control group (n = 18). Before and after the peer interactive group support, adolescents in the intervention and control group were asked to complete the quality of life, friendship qualities, and coping scales.
In this study, the investigators planned to compare the effectiveness of an intravenous ibuprofen against an intravenous dexketoprofen among patients (18-65 years) who were admitted to the emergency department (ED) with acute migraine-related headaches and diagnosed migraine without aura. In this study, patients who presented with migraine-related headache to emergency departments will be included in this study. Two different therapy option are created; first, 400mg intravenous ibuprofen with 10mg intravenous metoclopramide Hcl , second, 50 mg intravenous dexketoprofen with 10mg intravenous metoclopramide Hcl. Patients's headache scores will be measured with visual analog score (VAS) at the pretreatment and post-treatment periods (0. minutes, 30. minutes, and 60. minutes.) 60 minutes after treatment, as a rescue therapy, 100mg tramadol will be given to patients whose headache score does not decrease by more than 50% from pretreatment-VAS score.
The benefits of inspiratory muscle training(IMT) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) were reported. But in severe COPD patients, benefit from IMT may be limited. There is need for further research in new and complementary modalities to improve IMT efficiency in severe COPD patients.Manual therapy(MT) additional over IMT may be such a new approach that has not yet been investigated in COPD. Aims: To investigate effects of MT additional over IMT on functional capacity, respiratory muscle strength, pulmonary function, dyspnea, fatigue and quality of life in severe COPD patients. Methods: It was a prospective single-blind randomized trial. 40 patients with COPD in Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease(GOLD) stage III-IV were included. Patients were randomly assigned to receive either MT additional over IMT at 40% of maximal inspiratory pressure(MIP)(n= 20) or only IMT(n= 20) for 12 weeks. MT group received MT during 12 weeks for 40 minutes additional to IMT. Pulmonary function using spirometry, respiratory muscle strength using mouth pressure device, functional capacity using six minute walk test, dyspnea using Modified Medical Research Council(MMRC) dyspnea scale, fatigue using fatigue severity scale and quality of life using St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ) were evaluated.
Pediatric patients are exposed to increased risk during general anesthesia. A myriad of problems can be encountered in the pediatric population by misplaced endotracheal tubes. Especially, during one-lung ventilation (OLV) a right-sided or left-sided tube is inserted to facilitate the surgery. However, inadvertent tube use, caused by misinterpretation of the distances of the trachea and the main bronchi, may cause unintended hypoxemia, postoperative atelectasis and even mortality. In this study, investigators will measure the distance between distal margin of right lung upper lobe orifice-carina and carina-lip with the help of fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB).
Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRwNP) is an inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa. It is presented with severe stuffiness, nasal discharge, facial pressure/pain, and sleep disorders. It leads to severe inconvenience to social life and the quality of life. The first step standard medical therapy consists of the topical intranasal or systemic corticosteroids. Surgery should be considered in the case of medical treatment failure. However, the recurrences are common after both surgery and medical therapies in severe disease and usually require revision surgeries or high dose corticosteroid regimens. On the contrary, either the revision surgeries or the high dose corticosteroid therapies are not capable of preventing the recurrences, treatment failures. Besides, revision surgeries usually lead to high complication rates and high dose corticosteroids usually cause severe adverse effects. The use of the short course topical intranasal corticosteroids after the surgery is generally advocated for these patients. However, the recurrence rates are still high. Hence a new and effective maintenance treatment algorithm with no severe adverse effects is required. The hypothesis of the clinical trial is an estimated symptom recovery and superiority in both efficacy and safety by the use of low-dose methylprednisolone or methotrexate as compared to the standard maintenance therapy in treatment-resistant CRwNP patients. Therefore, the results of the present study are believed to provide data on novel maintenance therapy and suggest an alternative to the topical intranasal corticosteroids or the high-risk revision surgery.
