NCT ID: NCT04389385 Active, not recruiting - Pneumonia Clinical Trials

COVID-19 Specific T Cell Derived Exosomes (CSTC-Exo)

Start date: May 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic has caused mass mortality in the last 3 months that necessitates urgent development of new therapeutical agents. So far there is no effective anti-viral drug to reduce viral load that has critical importance to prevent progress into severe viral pneumonia and systemic hyper inflammation state. This project is to offer a biologic agent based on T cell derived exosomes. This is a novel approach using our proprietary protocols for drug development. This clinical trial is to test the safety and efficacy of this new agent following targeted delivery by metered dose inhaler. The project have received proper approvals from the Turkish Ministry of Health and Erciyes University, Kayseri Turkey. Turk-Patent Application Number: PCT/TR2020/050302

NCT ID: NCT04384133 Active, not recruiting - COPD Clinical Trials

The Prevalence of Small Airways Dysfunction In COPD Patients and The Impact on COPD Control

Start date: October 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a worldwide prevalent disease. During recent years, increasing attention has been directed to the importance of the contribution of small airways in respiratory diseases. The small airways (usually defined as those with an internal diameter of <2 mm) are recognized as the major site of resistance to airflow in obstructive lung disease. Although small airway disease is known in chronic airway diseases, the importance of small airway dysfunction on disease control, exacerbations and quality of life, and the importance of taking place among treatable targets is not clear. Therefore, our aim in the study is to determine the frequency of small airway dysfunction in COPD. Our secondary aim is to evaluate the role of small airway dysfunction in disease severity, disease phenotypes, disease control, quality of life and its effect on predicting the risk of exacerbation and its role among treatable targets in chronic airway diseases.

NCT ID: NCT04380636 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Non-Small-Cell Lung

Study of Pembrolizumab With Concurrent Chemoradiation Therapy Followed by Pembrolizumab With or Without Olaparib in Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) (MK-7339-012/KEYLYNK-012)

Start date: July 6, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab in combination with concurrent chemoradiation therapy followed by either pembrolizumab with olaparib placebo (Arm 1) or with olaparib (Arm 2) compared to concurrent chemoradiation therapy followed by durvalumab (Arm 3) in participants with unresectable, locally advanced NSCLC. Arms 1 and 2 will be studied in a double-blind design and Arm 3 will be open-label. The primary hypotheses are: 1. Pembrolizumab with concurrent chemoradiation therapy followed by pembrolizumab with olaparib is superior to concurrent chemoradiation therapy followed by durvalumab with respect to progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) 2. Pembrolizumab with concurrent chemoradiation therapy followed by pembrolizumab is superior to concurrent chemoradiation therapy followed by durvalumab with respect to PFS and OS

NCT ID: NCT04378673 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Family Centered Care

The Effect of Parental Presence on Pain and Anxiety Levels During Peripheral Intravenous Catheterization in Infants

Start date: March 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Children's changing emotional and physical needs, continuous, comprehensive, accessible, coordinated and family requires a centered care.Parental presence during invasive procedures is important in family-centered-care. Family-centered-care is a basic principle of pediatric nursing. It is extremely important that parents are with their children during painful procedures. Research; parents during peripheral intravenous catheterization in infancy It was planned to determine the effect of inclusion on pain and anxiety.

NCT ID: NCT04376268 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Impacted Third Molar Tooth

Comparison of the Efficacy of Boric Acid Mouthwashes in Different Concentrations

Start date: January 15, 2019
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Surgical removal of impacted third molars is one of the most frequent procedures carried out in the oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics. There are a varying range of postoperative complications including pain, edema and swelling. Antibiotics, analgesics and mouthwashes are usually prescribed for the treatment of these complications. Patients undergoing impacted third molar surgery are frequently prescribed chlorhexidine mouthwashes with/without benzydamine hydrochloride. However, there has been a search for alternatives with anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and analgesic properties as part of the oral care routine following surgical removal of impacted third molars. Thus, this multicenter study was aimed to evaluate the effects of chlorhexidine mouthwashes with different boric acid concentrations (%0.1, %0.5, %1, %1.5, %2 and %2.5), and boric acid mouthwash on the postoperative complications and compared with chlorhexidine mouthwash after the removal of impacted wisdom teeth.

NCT ID: NCT04375995 Active, not recruiting - Asthma Clinical Trials

The Prevalence Of Small Airways Dysfunction In Asthma Patients And The Impact On The Asthma Control

Start date: October 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Asthma, which are one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality both in the world and in our country, constitute a very serious social and economic burden. An estimated 300 million people suffer from asthma worldwide, which is a major public health problem. Asthma is complex and heterogeneous chronic airway diseases that require a multifaceted approach. In asthma, small airways represent key regions of airflow obstruction. Although small airway dysfunction is known in chronic airway diseases, the importance of small airway dysfunction on disease control, exacerbations and quality of life, and the importance of taking place among treatable targets is not clear. Thus, there is an unmet need to assess its role in the control of the disease. Therefore, our primary aim in the study is to determine the frequency of small airway dysfunction measured by impulse oscillometry in Asthma patients. Our secondary aim is to evaluate the role of small airway dysfunction in disease severity, disease phenotypes, disease control, quality of life and its effect on predicting the risk of exacerbation and its role among treatable targets in Asthma.

NCT ID: NCT04365088 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Impacted Third Molar Tooth

Evaluation of the Effects of Pre-operative Deflazacort on Post-operative Pain, Edema and Trismus

Start date: December 15, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Removal of impacted lower third molar teeth is one of the most common oral surgical procedures, and these operations often lead to various complications in patients. Antibiotics, analgesics and/or anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed for the treatment of complications encountered. Anti-inflammatory is the property of a substance or treatment that reduces inflammation or swelling. Anti-inflammatory drugs make up about half of analgesics, remedying pain by reducing inflammation as opposed to opioids, which affect the central nervous system to block pain signaling to the brain. Based on this information, in this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effects of deflazacort preoperatively on the postoperative pain, swelling and trismus.
