The ability of postoperative fennel tea consumption to produce bowel movement is unclear and needs to be studied. This study aimed to determine the effect of chewing gum and drinking fennel tea on intestinal motility after cesarean section. Methods: The study was conducted in postnatal care wards between January 2018 and April 2018. Simple randomization was used to assign women to the study arms. Data were collected during Pregnancy Constipation Diagnostic Scale, Data Collection and Follow-up Form were collected.
Musculoskeletal problems that occur in musicians are usually in the form of soft tissue injuries affecting muscles, tendons, nerves and ligaments. These injuries can cause pain, weakness and sensory changes, making it impossible to play the instrument. It is aimed to include 50 adult musicians who meet the inclusion criteria from among the performers in Elazığ Culture and Music Association, Fırat University State Conservatory Department, State Classical Turkish Music choir and musicians who are actively performing instruments within the borders of Elazığ province. : The aim of this study is; detection of Adseverin,1-alpha Defensin,sRANKL(soluble RANKL) levels in saliva samples of periodontally healthy, gingivitis and periodontitis patients and the possible correlation between these values and clinical parameters of periodontal diseases. Materials and methods: Samples of saliva were obtained from 60 systemically healthy non-smoker individuals with periodontitis (P, n=20), gingivitis(G, n=20) and healthy periodontium (S, n=20). Full-mouth clinical periodontal measurements including probing depth (PD), clinical attachment level (CAL), bleeding on probing (BOP), gingival index (GI) and plaque index (PI) were also recorded. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine Adseverin,1-alpha Defensin,sRANKL(soluble RANKL) levels in the biological samples.
This study examined the impact of a gluten-free diet on nutritional status and inflammation markers in adult celiac patients compared to a control group. Twenty-six celiac patients and 26 healthy individuals participated. Interviews, dietary records, anthropometric measurements, and blood samples were collected. After six weeks, celiac patients showed improved adherence to the gluten-free diet and increased quality of life scores. While initial micronutrient intake was lower in celiac patients, it improved over the study period. However, there were no significant changes in inflammation markers.
In this study, the family empowerment model program given to individuals who underwent Total Knee Prosthesis and their caregivers was examined on the individuals' physiological function level, self-efficacy, and post-discharge hospital readmission (during the follow-up period); It was aimed to determine the effect of caregivers on their care burden, caregiving competence, and ability to cope with stress. The population of the research will consist of patients who underwent FFP surgery at Selçuk University Hospital Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic between December 2023 and June 2024 and people who were cared for by the same family member for at least one month. The sample of the study will consist of patients and their caregivers who meet the inclusion criteria for the study. The sample of the study will consist of a total of 62 patients and their caregivers who were admitted to the clinic on the dates mentioned above and meet the inclusion criteria for the study. Study data will begin in the outpatient clinic and will be collected during the follow-up period until the 5th week after the patient is discharged. A training booklet created according to the Family-Centered Empowerment Model and a total of 9 sessions containing training and counseling will be applied to the intervention group of the study. Patients and families in the control group will be cared for according to the routine of the clinic and no intervention will be made. The data obtained will be analyzed using the IBM SPSS 25 (Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences - Undergraduate, Selçuk University) package program. Ethical principles will be observed at every stage of the study.
The primary purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of the 30° reverse trendelenburg position combined with the sunbed position on respiratory parameters in laparoscopic gastrectomies.
This study aims to shed light on the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles, which play a significant role in rotator sheath tendinopathy and tears. It includes isometric measurements of muscle thickness, fiber length, and pennation angles, as well as muscle strength, using ultrasound to evaluate the muscle architecture of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles in tennis players.
Background :The investigators wanted to see if dexamethasone, which is routinely used as an adjuvant tool by different anesthesiologists in the orthopedics operating room, can really start the effect of other local anesthetics early and prolong the duration of action during infraclavicular block, and giving less additional analgesics after surgery. Aims:The investigators plan to determine whether this outcome of , dexamethasone which is routinely used as an adjuvant tool to prolong postoperative analgesia. Methods :60 participants will be included in the study. It includes participants the age of 18, who do not have lung disease such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), who will undergo infraclavicular block, and who are mentally healthy with ASA I-III.After obtaining written consent from the premedication unit from the participants who were preoperatively evaluated, a vascular access will be opened in the non-operated arm and 0.09% NaCl will be started and 0.05 mg/kg midazolam will be given. All patients will be monitored. With nasal cannula, 3lt/min O2 will be started. 3lt/min O2 will be started with nasal cannula. Patients who underwent infraclavicular block by lateral sagittal method under USG(ultrasound) guidance by adding 2ml dexamethasone (8mg) 3cc 0.9% NaCl to local anesthetic containing 10 ml of bupivacaine (0.5%) and 5cc of prilocaine (2%) will be included in Group I. Patients who underwent infraclavicular block by lateral sagittal method by adding 10 ml of Bupivacaine (0.5%) and 5ml of prilocaine (2%) and 5 cc of 0.9% NaCl will be included in Group II. ASA score of the patients, drugs used in surgery, name of surgery, age, weight, height, block time, surgery start and end time, pre-block vitals, post-block vitals, adverse effects, sensory and motor block scale, with 10-minute intervals after the block, after the operation. grades immediately after, 12 hours and 24 hours, VAS scoring at 12 and 24 hours after surgery, surgeon satisfaction will be recorded. In addition, morphine and other analgesic consumption will be checked in all patients in the first 24 hours after surgery.
