There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study aimed to develop a training program for the empowerment of newly graduated nurses and to evaluate the effectiveness of this program. The training program designed to empower newly graduated nurses is based on the theories of "structural empowerment" and "psychological empowerment." The training program consists of two parts: face-to-face theoretical training and online training. To evaluate the effectiveness of the training program to be developed for the empowerment of newly graduated nurses, the research was planned as a single-center, parallel-group randomized controlled study, following the Consolidated Reporting Trials Standards (CONSORT) guidelines. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Is there a difference between the structural empowerment perception levels of the experimental group nurses who received the empowerment training program and the control group nurses who went through the routine orientation program? 2. Is there a difference between the psychological empowerment perception levels of the experimental group nurses who received the empowerment training program and the control group nurses who went through the routine orientation program? The research population will be newly graduated nurses (12 months or less of experience) working at Koç University Hospital. Experimental and control groups are expected to apply questionnaires including the "Introductory Information Questionnaire, Empowerment Information Evaluation Questionnaire, Nursing Structural Empowerment Scale, and Psychological Empowerment Scale" as a pre-test. Nurses in the control and experimental groups will receive the routine practices of the institution. The training program developed in addition to the experimental group will be applied. Six months after the training, the experimental and control groups are expected to apply the questionnaires, including the Nursing Structural Empowerment Scale, the Psychological Empowerment Scale, and the Empowerment Information Evaluation Questionnaire as a post-test.
Coccydynia or coccygeal pain is a painful syndrome that affects the coccyx region. The most important etiological factors in the formation of coccidynia are; external and internal trauma. Patients with coccydynia typically complain of coccyx pain. This pain increases with prolonged sitting, bending backwards during sitting, standing for long periods of time, and standing up after sitting. Conservative treatments such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), levator sudden relaxation exercises, seat cushions, and transcutaneous electrical simulation have all been used to relieve pain, but these methods are ineffective in 10% of patients. In the patient group unresponsive to conservative treatments, there are various interventional treatment options, including caudal epidural steroid injection, ganglion impar blocks, radiofrequency ablation of the sacral nerves, block of the coccygeal nerves and radiofrequency ablation, and coccygectomy.
This is a phase 3, randomized, double-blind, active comparator-controlled study of the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of V116 in pneumococcal vaccine-naïve adults 50 years of age and older. The polyvalent (23-valent) pneumococcal vaccine, PPSV23, is the active comparator. In addition to studying safety/tolerability, it is hypothesized that, at 30 days postvaccination, the immunogenicity of V116 is noninferior to PPSV23 for the 12 common serotypes in V116 and PPSV23, and that V116 is superior to PPSV23 for the 9 serotypes unique to V116. It is also hypothesized that V116 is superior to PPSV23 in the percentage of participants with ≥4-fold rise from baseline in unique V116 serotypes, as measured by serotype-specific opsonophagocytic activity (OPA) geometric mean titers (GMTs).
This randomized Phase 3 open-label study will compare the efficacy of the T-cell immunoglobulin and immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) domain (TIGIT) monoclonal antibody domvanalimab, the anti programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibody zimberelimab, and multiagent chemotherapy versus the anti PD-1 monoclonal antibody nivolumab and multiagent chemotherapy in the first-line treatment of participants with locally advanced unresectable or metastatic gastric, gastroesophageal junction (GEJ), and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
This study has 2 parts: First part is the main study and second part is the extension study. During the main study participants will receive 1 of 4 study medicines. If participants continue in the extension study, they will not receive any study medicine during the extension. The main study will look at how well CagriSema helps participants with excess body weight lose weight compared to a "dummy" medicine and 2 other medicines, cagrilintide and semaglutide. Participants will either get CagriSema, cagrilintide, semaglutide or "dummy" medicine. Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. They will take one injection once a week. The study medicine is injected briefly with a thin needle, typically in the stomach, thighs or upper arms. Extension study: After the main study, not all participants will continue in the extension study. The study staff will tell the participant if they will continue or not into the extension study. In the extension study we will look at what happens to the participant's body weight and diseases related to excess body weight after the participant stops taking the study medicine. The main study will last for about 1½ years and the extension study will last for another 2 years.
Pulmonary hypertension (PHT) is an oPAP ≥25 mmHg as assessed by right heart catheterization at rest. It is divided into 5 groups according to its etiology and mechanism. The first group is patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension due to various reasons (drugs, connective tissue diseases, etc.). Group 2 is classified as left heart failure, group 3 is due to chronic lung disease and hypoxemia, group 4 is due to pulmonary arterial obstruction (most commonly CTEPH), and group 5 is patients with pulmonary hypertension due to multifactorial unspecified causes. In the pathophysiology, pulmonary hypertension occurs when the balance is disturbed by endothelial dysfunction, decrease in vasodilator mediators (NO, prostacyclin) and increase in vasoconstrictor mediators (endothelin-1, serotonin, thromboxan) in the vascular bed. Perioperatively, patients with WHO functional classification >2, right ventricular hypertrophy, obese, chronic renal failure, previous PTE, COPD, diabetes mellitus are more prone to complications related to pulmonary hypertension. Although factors such as emergency surgery, intraoperative vasopressor use, delayed intubation, acidosis, and hyperthermia pave the way for postoperative pulmonary complications, attention should be paid to mortality and morbidity since they are also preventable factors. Postoperatively, as a result of the supine position triggering bronchospasm with secretions, acute lung injury in addition to the existing comorbidity occurs. With the increase in respiratory workload, acute respiratory failure develops with symptoms such as hypoxemia and hypercarbia. Residual anesthesia, increased pain or prolonged mechanical ventilation time also decrease functional residual capacity, increasing the possibility of atelectasis development. With the records we kept in our study, we aimed to show which complications the patients with pulmonary hypertension faced after their surgeries due to their underlying diseases and References ESC/ERC Guidelines Eurepean Heart Journal 2016; 37:67-119 Aguirre MA, et al. The purpose of this study is to provide continued access to treatment for participants who continue to benefit from treatment.
Impacted third molar extraction is a very common surgical intervention. Post-procedure pain causes various post-operative changes such as edema and trismus. Minimizing these changes will enable patients to overcome the post-operative process more easily. In this study, it was aimed to compare the possible effects of I-PRF (Impregnated Platelet Rich Fibrin) type 1 collagen with L-PRF (Leukocyte Platelet Rich Fibrin) on postoperative complications and wound healing after lower impacted wisdom tooth surgery. There are studies in the literature showing that very different treatment methods are used for buried twenty-year-old surgery. However, although there are studies in which intra-socket L-PRF, I-PRF, and collagen plugs are applied, there is no accepted standard for comparing the effects of L-PRF and I-PRF impregnated type-1 collagen with each other or for postoperative comfort. The aim of the study is to observe the effect of 2 different techniques on postoperative complications and possible changes in wound healing and discuss whether there is a difference and the effective one.
This study will investigate the effect of tirzepatide on the reduction of morbidity and mortality in adults living with obesity and provide additional evidence for the potential clinical benefits of tirzepatide in this population.
