There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The aim of this observational, cross-sectional study is to investigate the relationship between pain sensitization and ultrasonographic and nerve conduction studies in patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). The main questions it aims to answer are: - Can threshold values be determined ultrasonographically and electrodiagnostically in patients who develop pain sensitization? - Are pressure pain threshold values and central sensitization inventory scores correlated with ultrasonographic and nerve conduction studies of the median nerve?
Trunk control is important for maintaining an upright posture, increasing the quality of movement during dynamic activities, and performing transfer activities safely. Individuals with stroke, which is one of the most common neurological diseases in the world, may have various degrees of trunk affect because the contraction strength of the trunk muscles and their ability to work in harmony with each other are reduced. Depending on the increase in the level of trunk involvement, proprioceptive deterioration, increase in balance problems and deterioration in spasticity characteristics can be observed in patients. However, the relationship between these disorders in individuals with stroke, independent of trunk involvement, has not been defined. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to examine the relationship between proprioceptive awareness and balance and spasticity in stroke patients with different trunk involvement levels. 98 chronic stroke patients will be included in the study. Before the study, written and verbal "Informed Consent Form" will be obtained from all participants who meet the inclusion criteria. After recording the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of the participants, the cognitive status of the patients will be evaluated with a mini mental test. Trunk Impairment Scale (TRS) will be used to measure trunk control, which is our independent variable. GBS will be administered by another physiotherapist who is blinded to the study. Participants will be divided into two groups, high and low trunk control, according to the score obtained from the GBS. Spasticity of the participants, Modified Tardiue Scale (MTS), cervical proprioceptive awareness cervical joint error test, lower extremity proprioceptive awareness Proprioception test in Technobody Prokin 252 Isokinetic Balance Platform, balance skills Dynamic and static balance in Tecnobody Prokin 252 Isonkinetic Balance Platform will be evaluated by tests. The patients' quality of life will be evaluated with the stroke-specific quality of life scale. In order to prevent bias, scores obtained from the GBÖ will not be shared with the physiotherapist who performs other tests. All data obtained will be noted on a prepared evaluation form. After all data is collected, intra-group and inter-group comparisons will be made.
The coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19), defined by the reporting of pneumonia cases of unknown etiology at the end of 2019 in Wuhan, China, has spread worldwide, causing millions of deaths. Despite the fact that more than two years have passed since the struggle against the disease it continues to be an important public health problem. The increasing number of critically ill patients with this pandemic caused a great demand for intensive care units (ICU), and ICU capacity and staff had to be rapidly expanded in many countries. Similarly, in various periods of the pandemic in Turkey, the capacity of many ICUs had to be increased. The rates of admission to the ICU and death rates differed greatly from center to center due to various factors such as ICU bed capacity and the duration of access to the ICU, patient characteristics, and differences in the treatments applied. Determining the factors that may be associated with mortality is important in terms of improving the ICU follow-up of patients with COVID-19 and guiding their treatment. There is limited information about the characteristics and mortality of Turkish patients with COVID-19 in the ICU. The aim of this study is to determine the demographic, clinical and laboratory characteristics and the factors affecting ICU mortality in COVID-19 patients followed in Akdeniz University Medical Faculty Hospital since the beginning of the pandemic.
Aim: We conducted this randomized controlled study to determine the effect of laughter yoga practiced by first year nursing students before clinical practice on their perceptions of stress and meaning of life. Background: Laughter yoga has a positive effect on the person's mental/general health, life satisfaction and psychological well-being and enables the person to cope with stress. Design: In this experimental randomized and controlled study including a control group, we administered a pre-test, post-test one and post-test two to the participating students. Methods: We conducted the study with 45 first year nursing students in the intervention group, and 45 first year nursing students in the control group. The students in the intervention group took part in eight sessions of laughter yoga for four weeks, twice a week. We used the Descriptive Information Form, Perceived Stress Scale, and Meaning and Purpose of Life Scale to collect the study data.
Approximately 30% of the factors that cause male infertility are due to idiopathic causes. Increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) due to many known and unknown factors cause male infertility by affecting spermatogenesis and sperm maturation. In this study, the effects of physical activity and antioxidant food supplementation on seminal antioxidant capacity, sperm DNA fragmentation index, sperm chromatin quality and sperm parameters were investigated in infertile cases.
The purpose of this trial is to assess the efficacy, safety and tolerability of remibrutinib (LOU064) 25 milligrams (mg) twice a day (b.i.d.) over placebo for 24 weeks and in comparison to omalizumab 300 mg every 4 weeks (q4w) for 52 weeks in participants with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) inadequately controlled by H1-antihistamines (H1-AH).
The studies in the literature have not sufficiently investigated the effects of core stabilization training on anaerobic performance. Therefore, this study was planned to comparatively investigate effects of progressive core stabilization training applied to elite athletes on anaerobic capacity, anaerobic performance, and fatigue.
Purpose: Pterygium is a common ocular surface disease defined by fibrovascular conjunctival growth extending onto the cornea. Its pathogenesis remains unclear. In severe cases, it may extend into the central cornea, inducing irregular corneal astigmatism and causing loss of vision. CD44( phagocytic glycoprotein-1 ) is involved in the organization of certain cellular processes, for instance, cell adhesion, division, and migration, by binding with its main ligand, hyaluronic acid. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) is a proliferation marker in the nucleus. E-cadherin is a calcium-dependent transmembrane glycoprotein that plays a significant role in the protection of tissue integrity and cell-to-cell adhesion. This study aimed to determine the role of CD44, proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), and E-cadherin in pterygium formation and recurrence.
In the postoperative period, good pain and anxiety management is required to minimize complications and ensure recovery. Patients should be evaluated with a holistic approach, taking into account factors such as physical and psychological discomfort, anxiety level, age, gender, previous pain level. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods are used to relieve pain and anxiety in the postoperative period. Non-pharmacological methods reduce the patient's pain and anxiety by creating a feeling of comfort and control in the patient. Relaxation techniques such as hypnosis, yoga and music are among these. The main purpose of these methods is to draw the attention of the individual in another direction. Praying is also one of the non-drug methods, and the number of studies on this subject is very limited, and there are studies where it has been determined that praying and praying reduces the anxiety levels of patients. Purpose To examine the effect of listening to Surah al-Inshirah on pain and anxiety after laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery. Method The population of the study will consist of patients who have undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy at Mardin Training and Research Hospital and Kızıltepe State Hospital, who meet the inclusion criteria and volunteer to participate in the research. The study group of 60 people who will participate in the research will be divided into two equal groups according to the table of random numbers obtained from the computer-based Research Randomizer program. Experimental group patients; A patient descriptive characteristics form will be applied, pretest VAS pain score and state anxiety scale will be applied. Then, the Surah al-Inshirah will be listened to and the final test VAS pain score and state anxiety scale will be applied. Control group patients; A patient descriptive characteristics form will be applied, pretest VAS pain score and state anxiety scale will be applied. The posttest VAS pain score and state anxiety scale will be applied 10 minutes later, without any intervention.
