There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Objective: This study was conducted in order to examine the effect of oral self-care protocol based on Orem's Self-Care Deficiency Theory on oral mucositis and self-care agency. Method: This study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial between August 2021 and July 2022, patients with hematological malignancies receiving high-dose chemotherapy at the Izmir Ege University Faculty of Medicine Hospital and Izmir Training and Research Hospital. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 60 patients, including 30 application groups and 30 control groups, who met the inclusion criteria using the computer-based stratified randomization method. The study data were collected using "Patient Information Questionnaire," "WHO-Oral Mucositis Toxicity Scale," "Oral Assessment Guide," "Self-Care Agency Scale," "Data Collection Form Prepared According to Orem's Self-Care Deficiency Nursing Theory," "Oral Care Chart," and "Oral Cavity Photography." The oral self-care protocol, which includes training and oral care practices, was applied to the application group for 21 days from the beginning of chemotherapy treatment. The control group was not subjected to any oral care attempts by the researcher and received standard nursing care in the clinic. The data were evaluated by descriptive statistics, the Chi-square test, the Mann-Whitney U test, the Mc Ne-mar test, the Kappa compliance test, and the t test in dependent and independent groups. Keywords: chemotherapy; hematological malignancy; oral mucositis; oral self-care protocol; Orem's theory; self-care agency; nursing
The aim of our study is to examine the factors affecting the physical activity of individuals with stroke and to draw attention to the importance of these factors in interventions to improve the physical activity level of individuals with stroke.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of JNJ-77242113 compared with placebo in participants with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis.
In this study, it was planned to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of music therapy, which is a non-pharmacological method, in addition to pharmacological treatment in patients with PONV after bariatric surgery, whose application frequency is increasing in the treatment of obesity, and to determine its effect on patient satisfaction. The findings of this study are considered to be effective in preventing nausea and vomiting, providing patient comfort, increasing evidence-based nursing knowledge and increasing the quality of care.
The Lloyd Davies position is a position used in laparoscopic hysterectomies where the head is lowered 45 degrees and the legs are bent from the knee area.It is a version of the Trendelenburg position. Both this position and for laparoscopic surgery carbon dioxide (CO2) gas given into the abdomen, causes problems for the patient. Increased abdominal and thoracic pressure impairs venous return and increases intracranial pressure. Optic nerve sheath diameter can be measured by placing an ultrasound probe over the eye. It is possible to follow up the increase in intracranial pressure with this diameter measurement. In this study, it was planned to measure the optic nerve sheath diameter by ultrasound in patients who will undergo laparoscopic hysterectomy. It is aimed to observe the changes in the increase in intracranial pressure as the time lengthens with the measurements to be made at certain intervals during the operation. Secondary aim is to determine whether there is a cut-off value where the intracranial pressure starts to increase.
The aim of the study was to investigate the validity and reliability of the KForce Sens® for the evaluation of wrist joint position sense in individuals with CTS. Wrist joint position sense was assessed with KForce Sens® and Baseline® electrogoniometer. The validity and reliability of the KForce Sens® for wrist position sense evaluation were investigated by comparing the two data sets.
It has been reported that corrected carotid flow time (FTc) may indicate the responsiveness of spontaneously breathing patients to fluid therapy. The primary objective of the study is to determine the effect of fluid preload applied to patients with preanesthetic FTc values below the cut-off value on the incidence of hypotension in cesarean section (C/S) surgery. Pregnant women who underwent cesarean section under spinal anesthesia were included in this prospective study. In the preoperative care unit, patients were assigned to two groups according to their baseline FTc values. Patients with baseline FTc < 327 ms were assigned to the first group, and Ringer Lactate (RL) preload fluid administration to these patients was continued until FTc > 327 ms. On the other hand, patients with baseline FTc > 327 ms were assigned to the second group, and preload fluid was not administered to these patients. Intraoperative hemodynamic data were recorded for each patient.
The aim of this study is to investigate the cost, functional benefits, and impact on the quality of life of using bone-anchored hearing devices in chronic otitis media patients
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if a new drug that might help protect and preserve kidney function in antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) associated vasculitis (AAV). AAV is a type of autoimmune disease where the body's own immune system attacks itself, and in the case of AAV the body attacks its own small blood vessels. There are many small blood vessels in the kidneys meaning the kidneys are commonly affected in AAV. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is the new drug well tolerated and safe? - Can the new drug protect and preserve kidney functions when is added to standard therapy? Researchers will compare the following groups to see how the new drug is tolerated and what effect to preserve kidney tissue has: - Group A: Standard treatment + ALE.F02 low dose infusions - Group B: Standard treatment + ALE.F02 high dose infusions - Group C: Standard treatment + ALE.F02 maximum dose infusions - Group D: Standard treatment + placebo infusions (inactive substance) The Treatment period will consist of 24 weeks beginning on Day 1, during which time participants will receive 13 infusions of the study medicine, along with standard therapy for kidney inflammation due to AAV. During the treatment period, participants will have the following assessments: - A brief physical examination focusing on their skin any pre-existing medical conditions that you have. - Collection of blood and urine samples for routine safety tests and to assess renal function. - Collection of blood samples: - To measure the amount of study medicine in their blood. This is called pharmacokinetics (PK) and it is tested to see how study medicine enters, moves through, and exits the body. - To test for antidrug antibodies (ADA). To check if their body create antibodies against the study medicine, as this could reduce its effect. - To measure biomarkers. Biomarkers are specific compounds in the body (can be protein, hormones, or genetic molecules) that indicate normal or abnormal processes taking place in your body and may be a sign of an underlying condition or disease (for example glucose levels are used as biomarker in managing diabetes). They are used to see how well the body responds to a treatment for a disease or condition. - Collection of urine to measure urine markers of vasculitis/inflammation called biomarkers. - Urine pregnancy test. A urine pregnancy test is a quick medical test that can tell if a woman is pregnant or not by checking for a hormone which is produced during pregnancy, usually in the urine. - Chest High Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT) scan to check whether they have vasculitis affecting their lungs. A CT scan uses special x-ray equipment to take detailed pictures of body tissues and organs to diagnose and monitor conditions in various parts of the body. For the CT scan, they will need to lie still on a table. At Week 24 a second lung CT scan will be performed for participants whose initial scan showed lung vasculitis to see whether your lung vasculitis is getting better or ongoing/worse.
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of glofitamab in combination with polatuzumab vedotin plus rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and prednisone (Pola-R-CHP) vs Pola-R-CHP in participants with previously untreated CD20-positive large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL).
