There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effect of health education material developed by nursing students in gynecological health and disease nursing on students' teaching material motivation and material design self-efficacy belief. Method: The study was conducted as a prospective randomized controlled study. n=86 (43=control, 43=intervention) students who took the Women's Health and Diseases Nursing course at Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department between 30.10.2023-20.01.2024 and volunteered to participate in the study were randomized. It was conducted in two groups: intervention and control. In the research, data will be collected with the Data Collection Form prepared by reviewing the literature, Instructional Material Motivation Scale and Material Design Self-Efficacy Belief Scale. Descriptive statistics, Student t-test, Mann-Whitney U Test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Pearson correlation tests will be used to evaluate the data.
Natural disasters can have adverse impacts on both physical and mental health. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and sleep disorders are among the most common problems seen after natural disasters. Exercise may represent a safe, cost-effective, accessible, non-pharmacological method for treating PTSD and sleep problems. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise interventions on PTSD and sleep quality in young individuals affected by the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes in Türkiye.
Summary: Background One of the most important roles of psychiatric nurses, who help individuals, families and society in promoting health, preventing diseases and coping with problems, is their educational role. With its educational role, the nurse can help the patient and their family function at the best level in biopsychosocial integrity in preventing and coping with diseases through psychoeducation. Goals This research was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of psychoeducational training given to nurses working in a psychiatric clinic. Design This research is a randomized controlled experimental study. Participants Participants were determined using simple randomization. The sample of the study consisted of 78 nurses (intervention = 39; control = 39) working in a psychiatric clinic in a city hospital in Turkey. Methods Groups were determined using the simple randomization method. Psychoeducational training was given to the intervention group, nurses working in the Psychiatry clinic, for a total of 4 sessions, with two sessions of 50 minutes each. The data of the research were collected with the ;Personal Information Form; Form for evaluating the knowledge level of nurses working in the psychiatry clinic regarding psychoeducation and Perception of Adequacy Scale in Psychoeducation Program Development and Implementation. Data were analyzed using independent samples t test and two-way repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA).
In this retrospective study, we aimed to detect of effects of ERCP on outcomes of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. Patients underwent elective cholecystectomy surgery with a diagnosis of symptomatic cholelithiasis were identified and divided into two main groups regarding to have a ERCP procedure prior to surgery or not. To eliminate possible differences in baseline characteristics, patients in ERCP and non-ERCP groups were propensity score-matched 1:1 using nearest-neighbor matching without replacement based on age, sex and ASA score. Following propensity score matching (PSM), the ERCP and non-ERCP groups were first compared to detect effects of the ERCP procedure itself. After comparison of two main groups, subgroup analyzes performed for the ERCP group to detect effect of ERCP-related variables (indication for ERCP procedure, time between last ERCP procedure and surgery, number of preoperative ERCPs, stone extractions, and biliary stent use)
This study was conducted in a randomized controlled experimental type to determine the effect of maternal voice during care on pain and comfort level in term newborns receiving mechanical ventilation. The sample of the study was consisted of 60 term newborns receiving mechanical ventilation who were hospitalized in the 7-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Istanbul in accordance with the selection criteria. Introductory Information Form, Vital Signs Follow-up Form, Neonatal Comfort Behavior Scale and Neonatal Pain Scale (NPASS) forms prepared by the researchers were used as data collection tools.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of using peanut balls during labor on labor memory, labor satisfaction, labor length, and neonatal APGAR scores.
One of the most common diseases in the neonatal period is indirect hyperbilirubinemia (IHB). After phototherapy was discovered accidentally in 1958, it has been used as the most effective treatment method for IHD for more than 60 years. Sources that provide phototherapy are developing rapidly technologically. However, there is no clearly defined usage table in the literature for applying phototherapy with faster effects and fewer side effects. In recent years, the use of intermittent phototherapy has been recommended with similar effectiveness. Phototherapy has significant side effects such as dehydration, diarrhea, chromosome breaks, retinal damage, skin rashes, hypocalcemia, thrombocytopenia. As phototherapy exposure decreases, its side effects decrease. In our study; We plan to find the most ideal method in the treatment of IHB by comparing intermittent PT with continuous phototherapy in terms of effectiveness. We aim to achieve the best bilirubin reduction and minimal side effects with less exposure to phototherapy.
In Turkey, only 55% of patients with type 2 diabetes have been diagnosed, and 91% of these patients have been receiving treatment. The rate of patients reaching the treatment target is 50%. The pandemic has also affected diabetic patients. It is aimed to determine the characteristics of patients with type 2 diabetes (HbA1c >=10) with poor metabolic control and to evaluate the extent to which metabolic control can be achieved in 12 months.
This study aims to evaluate the effect of the clinical removal of fixed partial dentures (FPDs) on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) and the anxiety values of individuals and to determine the risk factors of high anxiety levels. 300 participants were included in this study. Six different reasons for the clinical removal of FPDs (oral examination, denture renewal, root canal treatment, tooth extraction, periodontal treatment, and composite filling restoration) were defined. Questions pertaining to the United Kingdom Oral Health-Related Quality-of-Life Measure (OHQoL-UK), the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS), and the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory - State (STAI-S) and Trait (STAI-T) were answered.
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of an online video training on fears surrounding childbirth given to male partners before the pregnancy of their spouses. The study conducted with 43 male (22 intervention; 21 control) participants. Participants were divided into intervention and control groups. The intervention group was given video training on pregnancy and the birth process. "Descriptive Information Form" and the "Male-Childbirth Fear Prior to Pregnancy Scale" was used for data collection. Before the intervention, it was found that the fear level of childbirth was low. The video training given to male partners before the pregnancy of their spouses diminished the fear of birth but did not create a significant difference. These findings support long-term training that includes video tutorials for parents before birth. Interactive, participatory birth preparation training is likely to enhance the training's appeal for male partners.
