There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Malnutrition is a prevalent issue among patients undergoing cardiac surgery. This can lead to delirium risk factors, including postoperative functional and cognitive impairment. Assessing the patient's nutritional status before open-heart surgery may decrease the incidence of delirium and the psychological and physiological problems associated with it. The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of postoperative delirium in patients who have undergone open-heart surgery.
The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) does not specify a fasting period for patients with certain comorbidities, such as diabetes, for elective surgery, and does not make a separate recommendation for surgery. The European Society of Anesthesiology (ESA) guidelines do not differentiate between diabetic patients and normal patients. Aspiration of gastric contents is a common cause of perioperative morbidity and mortality. Aspiration can cause hypoxia, bronchospasm, pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome and death. The presence of food or fluid in the stomach before induction of anesthesia is one of the greatest risk factors for perioperative pulmonary aspiration. Sedation and general anesthesia suppress or inhibit physiologic mechanisms (tone of the lower esophageal sphincter and upper airway reflexes) that protect against aspiration. Because restriction of fluid and food intake before general anesthesia is vital for patient safety, Anesthesiology societies have developed guidelines for preoperative fasting. Current ASA guidelines recommend at least 2 hours fasting for clear liquids, 6 hours fasting after a light meal (toast and clear liquids) and 8 hours fasting after a high calorie or fat meal. The information obtained from gastric ultrasound allows anesthesiologists to determine the optimal timing of procedures, type of anesthesia and airway management technique.
First aim is to determine the effect of mother and father kangaroo care on the premature baby's Comfort Behavior level and physiological parameters (respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature). Second aim is to determine the effect of mother and father kangaroo care on Parental Satisfaction and Neonatal Intensive Care Parental Stress level. The study was a a randomized crossover study with pretest-posttest design. It was carried out in the neonatal intensive care unit of Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in Konya province. Study data were collected from 19 mother and 19 father and their premature newborns between February 2023 and August 2023.
It was planned to evaluate the effectiveness of the evidence-based practice education intervention program in 3rd year students of the Faculty of Nursing on their knowledge, attitude, behavior and future use of evidence-based practice, and their awareness and attitudes towards research and developments. The study was parallel group (experimental-control), randomized controlled experimental design with pretest-posttest design. It was carried out in 3rd year students of nursing department of Selçuk University Faculty of Nursing in Konya province. Study data were collected from 108 students between February 2023 and June 2023. Nursing students in the intervention (n = 54) and control groups (n = 54) were determined by randomization method.
The aim of this randomised controlled study was to examine the effect of peer counselling on first-year nursing students' perceptions of nursing image in orientation processes. The H0 hypothesis of the study is that there is no statistical difference between the scores of the image scale towards nursing between the experimental and control groups after the peer-assisted orientation process.
The research is a randomized controlled experimental study and was planned to examine the effect of metaverse-based epilepsy education on the epilepsy knowledge level of parents.
This study aimed to investigate the effects of thoracic chiropractic manipulations on pain intensity, depression levels, sleep, and quality of life in women diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The research included 50 female participants aged 25-45 who had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia between 2022 and 2023 at Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Education and Research Hospital. The participants were randomly divided into two groups: a chiropractic treatment group and a control group. Both groups completed pre-treatment assessments using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and Short Form 36 (SF-36). The chiropractic treatment group received thoracic chiropractic manipulations (HVLA) twice a week for a total of six sessions over three weeks, while the control group received sham manipulations. A week after the final session, all participants completed the assessments again.
Having a patient with pain watch a video can be used to "direct attention to a different direction", which is a part of nursing care in pain management (İnal and Canbulat, 2015). There are studies using different non-invasive methods to reduce pain during labor (Ebrahimian and Bilandi, 2021; Kazeminia et al., 2020). However, no randomized controlled study has been found in which comedy videos were watched for labor pain management and birth satisfaction. For this reason, it is planned to investigate the effect of comedy video on pain and birth satisfaction in this study.
To investigate the reliability and sensitivity of the Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire, Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale, and Pain Catastrophizing Scale in patients with chronic nonspecific neck pain undergoing multidisciplinary rehabilitation and to determine the most appropriate minimally clinically significant difference values in order to increase confidence in their use in clinical practice and research for this patient population. Therefore, the current study aims to evaluate the answerability and minimal clinical significance of the Turkish versions of the Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire, Tampa Kinesiophobia scale, and Pain Catastrophizing scales in patients with non-specific chronic neck pain.
Distal radius fractures are the most common fractures when looking at upper extremity fractures . The incidence of distal radius fractures is increasing day by day, and when looking at the databases of various countries, the annual prevalence reaches 70,000 in the UK and 640,000 in the USA. Most of them are related to osteoporosis, and if appropriate treatment is not given, they cause loss of work capacity, permanent disability, and limitation in daily activities . There are publications showing that short immobilization and appropriate rehabilitation after surgery provide good clinical results. In cases that are not properly rehabilitated after surgery, there may be an average delay of 12 weeks in returning to normal life and returning to work. When patients who were given early mobilization and rehabilitation after surgery were examined, it was observed that there was a significant improvement in wrist functions, range of motion, and grip strength . Instrumented soft tissue mobilization is a unique soft tissue mobilization combined with active mobility and stretching exercises that is prescribed to increase joint range of motion in patients with musculoskeletal injuries. The various sizes and beveled edges of the stainless steel instruments allow physical therapists to tailor the treatment to different muscle structures that experience myofascial restrictions. Instrumented soft tissue mobilization aims to reduce fascial limitations by increasing circulation. Increases in localized blood flow and soft tissue realignment promote muscle function, increased normal joint movement, and decreased pain.
