Fertility and Preconceptional Health Knowledge and Attitudes Among University Students

Fertility means being fertile, that is, having the ability to reproduce. Fertility awareness means that individuals know and avoid the anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system, the importance of fertility, fertility options and life habits that negatively affect fertility. Reproductive Life Plans (RLP) are personal goals related to individuals' decisions to have children, when and how to make this decision, focusing on their priorities, current situations and goals.RLP prioritizes preconception care so that individuals can achieve their reproductive goals. This study aimed to examine the effect of RLP training on university students' knowledge and attitudes about fertility and preconception health. The research was designed as a pretest-posttest randomized controlled experimental study. The population of the research will consist of 1025 senior undergraduate students studying in five faculties and 17 departments of Bartın University in the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. To determine the number of participants to be included in the research sample, power analysis was performed using the G-Power 3.1.9.7 program. Accordingly, the sample of the study was planned to include a minimum of 160 participants in intervention and control groups, 80 for each group. Firstly, a Preliminary Evaluation Form will be applied to university students to collect the data of the research. Then, students who meet the inclusion criteria will be pre-tested with the Introductory Information Form, Fertility Health Information Scale and Preconceptional Health Information and Attitude Form. After the pre-test is administered, participants will be randomly assigned to intervention and control groups. Participants in the intervention group will be given group training based on the contents of the Reproductive Life Plan Training Booklet (RLPTB) created by the researcher in line with the literature. No intervention will be made to the participants in the control group. After the pre-test is applied to the participants in both groups, the data collection form will be applied again 8 weeks later and the post-test phase of the research will be completed. IBM SPSS 22.0 package program will be used for statistical analysis of the data obtained from the study. The findings will be evaluated at a 5.0% significance level within a 95.0% confidence interval.

Lidocaine, Dexmedetomidine, Esmolol and Magnesium Effect on Optic Nerve Sheath Diameter After Laryngoscopy

This clinical trial aims to compare the effects of lidocaine, dexmedetomidine, esmolol, and magnesium on optic nerve sheath diameter and hemodynamic response to laryngoscopy. The participants will be patients determined to need intubation and general anesthesia for any elective surgery. Each participant will receive either lidocaine, dexmedetomidine, esmolol, magnesium, or none before anesthesia induction, according to randomization. The investigator will measure the optic nerve sheath diameter by ultrasonography before and after intubation. Researchers will compare the difference between optic nerve sheath diameter, systolic blood pressure, and heart rate before and after laryngoscopy and search for the most stable group. The trial aims to determine a general anesthesia induction protocol for patients sensitive to intracranial pressure changes reflected as optic nerve sheath diameter for easy monitoring.

The Effect of Video-based Education on Anxiety, Pain and Recovery Quality in Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.

The reasons for anxiety before laparoscopic cholecystectomy include the operation of the surgery process, its therapeutic effect, lack of information about the postoperative period and lack of communication. The increase in the preoperative anxiety level in patients undergoing surgical intervention negatively affects the patients' sleep, recovery and quality of life, length of hospital stay is prolonged, cost increases in hospitals, and socioeconomic losses occur in individuals and institutions. Therefore, this study will be conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study to determine the effect of video-based training given by an operating room nurse to patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy on preoperative anxiety, postoperative pain and recovery quality. 46 patients (23 experimental, 23 control group) who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy will be included in the study.Patient Information Form, Surgical Anxiety Scale, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Recovery Quality Scale-15 will be used to collect data.

Postoperative pain is a significant concern following video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). Pain after thoracic surgery not only causes a strong stress reaction and adverse emotional experience but also affects postoperative rehabilitation. Hence, different analgesia techniques, including local anesthetic infiltration, intercostal nerve block, paravertebral block, and thoracic epidural anesthesia, have been described to attenuate the intensity of acute postoperative painparavertebral block (PVB) and Rhomboid intercostal block with sub-serratus plane block (RISS) are the two types of plane blocks used for postoperative analgesia after video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). The study will investigate alterations in post-surgical gait patterns among patients who have undergone all arthroscopic repair surgery for the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) due to ankle instability. The gait biomechanics of patients scheduled for surgery will be assessed preoperatively using pedobarographic analysis. Subsequent changes in walking biomechanics will be evaluated and interpreted at the 3rd and 6th postoperative months. Consequently, the impact of the all arthroscopic anatomical ATFL repair method on walking will be documented.

A lecturer is a person who, after completing his/her undergraduate education, specializes in the same or a different discipline through postgraduate education and works at a university. The main responsibilities of lecturers are teaching, research, leadership and community service. The training skills program includes adult education and characteristics of adult learners, basic concepts of education, teaching methods and techniques, instructional technologies, communication skills, curriculum development, implementation and evaluation and aims to improve participants' training skills. Teaching is among the main responsibilities of lecturers. Instructors need to receive training to improve their teaching skills during their graduate education and after their appointment as instructors. In this study, it is aimed to design and implement an Educational Skills Program based on the Constructivist Learning Approach. The design of the training program was based on the Dick, Carey and Carey (DCC) Instructional Design Model, which is widely known among instructional design models and influenced by constructivism theory. It is aimed that the training skills training program will be carried out by taking adult education into consideration and will be learner-centered. In this study, the training plan is based on the Constructivist Learning Approach 5E model, which is proven to be effective in the literature and widely used. The training program will be conducted through distance education in order to reach instructors living in different cities and to create common time.
