There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study will be conducted to compare the effects of hand and foot exercises on peripheral neuropathy and quality of life in breast cancer patients taking taxanes
In our clinic, routine suprainguinal fascia iliaca block (SIFIB) has been administered for postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing knee arthroplasty. Recently, we have introduced the IPACK (Infiltration between the Popliteal Artery and Capsule of the Knee) block to this regimen, and the aim of this retrospective study is to determine whether the addition of the IPACK block enhances the quality of analgesia. Knee arthroplasty, also known as knee joint replacement surgery, is a common procedure performed to alleviate pain and improve joint function in patients with knee osteoarthritis or other knee-related conditions. Postoperative pain management is crucial for patient comfort and overall recovery. In this study, we aimed to compare the two techniques mentioned earlier, namely the SIFIB (Suprainguinal Fascia Iliaca Block) and the SIFIB+IPACK, by examining the data of patients who underwent knee arthroplasty under spinal anesthesia at our clinic between January 1, 2023, and September 1, 2023.
Objectives: This study will be conducted to determine the effect of early mobilization on postoperative recovery in abdominal surgery patients.. Methods: This research is a randomized controlled experimental study. In the Gastrointestinal Surgery Department, a total of 130 patients will be included, consisting of 65 experimental group and 65 control group, who are scheduled for abdominal surgery in the study. In the study, data will be collected using a survey form, Numerical Rating Scale, gradual mobilization chart in the first 24 hours after surgery, and Postoperative Recovery Index (PoRI-TR). On the day before the surgery, the experimental group will receive early mobilization training. On the day of the surgery, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and pain intensity will be assessed before the first mobilization. Pain control will be ensured before mobilization. Each mobilization will be carried out in accordance with the gradual mobilization schedule within the first 24 hours after surgery. Following the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol recommendation, mobilization will be provided outside of bed for a total of 2 hours, with durations increasing by the hour on the day of surgery under the supervision of the researcher: 5, 15, 25, 35, and 40 minutes. Mobilizations for patients showing signs of orthostatic hypotension will be postponed by 30 minutes. On the days following the surgery, patients will be informed to spend 6 hours outside of bed. The control group will receive routine care procedures. The second part of the questionnaire will be administered on the day of the surgery for both the experimental and control groups, and the PoRI-TR will be applied at the 25th hour after surgery. Data will be collected through face-to-face interviews within 20-25 minutes. The data obtained from the research will be evaluated using the SPSS 22.00 program. The normality of the data will be determined by Skewness-Kurtosis tests. Based on this result, either parametric or non-parametric tests will be applied.
The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of bruxism on Temporomanbular joint functionality and dysfunction severity in individuals with Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD).
Although it is stated in the literature that development should be considered as a whole and sensory, cognitive and motor outcomes are interrelated, it is seen that interventions for sensory and cognitive skills are not included in early intervention studies. For this reason, the study examined the effects of an early occupational therapy intervention program, which includes sensory, cognitive and motor strategies based on the principles of Goal, Activity and Motor Enrichment-GAME, an evidence-based early intervention program, on the sensory, cognitive and motor skills of babies at risk of developmental delay for 24-36 months.
Pain is one of the main complaints that causes people to apply to health institutions. Pain is seen as a passive warning signal of an underlying disease process; When it becomes chronic, it is considered a disease on its own. Pain that persists longer than the expected recovery time is defined as chronic pain. Pain is associated with a number of psychological, physical, and social factors. Clinical observations report that various psychological problems, especially anxiety, and depression, accompany chronic pain, and the long-term persistence of pain significantly impacts a patient's quality of life. Chronic musculoskeletal pain causes fatigue, sleep disruption, and activity and participation restrictions. Therefore, evaluation of pain originating from the musculoskeletal system and factors that cause and increase pain need to be addressed from a biopsychosocial perspective. Chronic pain is an ideal environment for anxiety to develop. If the person's chronic pain cannot be resolved, anxiety increases and the anxiety becomes excessive, the person may lose the ability to distinguish what is dangerous from what is not, as he cannot evaluate pain-related cues properly. Anxiety and depression scales are often used to assess the long-term psychosocial consequences of chronic musculoskeletal pain. However, these scales are inadequate to explain the relationship between pain and anxiety. The Worry About Pain Questionnaire is a self-report scale of 15 items specifically developed to assess pain-related pressure. To our knowledge, there is no standard, valid, and reliable Turkish questionnaire in the literature that evaluates the pain-related concerns of individuals with musculoskeletal pain and takes into account the cultural differences of Turkish patients. For this reason, our study aims to translate and culturally adapt the Worry About Pain Questionnaire into Turkish in individuals with chronic musculoskeletal pain and to examine the psychometric properties of the Turkish Worry About Pain Questionnaire.
The goal of this pre-test-post-test randomized controlled experimental study is to examined the effects of the learning conversation (LC)-based, 3D model-based, and standard debriefing methods on critical thinking, debriefing experience, and satisfaction after in-situ simulation among intensive care unit (ICU) nurses. A total of 186 ICU nurses working in a training and research hospital participated in the study. Researchers will compare learning conversation (LC)-based, 3D model-based, and standard debriefing methods on critical thinking, debriefing experience, and satisfaction.
This study, we performed the Turkish version validity and reliability of the NIH Task Force's Recommended Multidimensional Minimal Dataset
FIFA 11+ program; It consists of simple, easily remembered, and time-consuming, sport-specific exercises underlying fair play. Although the FIFA 11+ program is a well-established warm-up protocol for injury prevention among football players, the performance improvement aspect of the program is not often discussed in the literature. The study's objective is to investigate the efficacy of the FIFA 11+ program on sports performance parameters such as dynamic balance, isokinetic muscle strength performance in adolescent amateur male football players.
Objective: This study was conducted in order to examine the effect of oral self-care protocol based on Orem's Self-Care Deficiency Theory on oral mucositis and self-care agency. Method: This study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial between August 2021 and July 2022, patients with hematological malignancies receiving high-dose chemotherapy at the Izmir Ege University Faculty of Medicine Hospital and Izmir Training and Research Hospital. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 60 patients, including 30 application groups and 30 control groups, who met the inclusion criteria using the computer-based stratified randomization method. The study data were collected using "Patient Information Questionnaire," "WHO-Oral Mucositis Toxicity Scale," "Oral Assessment Guide," "Self-Care Agency Scale," "Data Collection Form Prepared According to Orem's Self-Care Deficiency Nursing Theory," "Oral Care Chart," and "Oral Cavity Photography." The oral self-care protocol, which includes training and oral care practices, was applied to the application group for 21 days from the beginning of chemotherapy treatment. The control group was not subjected to any oral care attempts by the researcher and received standard nursing care in the clinic. The data were evaluated by descriptive statistics, the Chi-square test, the Mann-Whitney U test, the Mc Ne-mar test, the Kappa compliance test, and the t test in dependent and independent groups. Keywords: chemotherapy; hematological malignancy; oral mucositis; oral self-care protocol; Orem's theory; self-care agency; nursing
