Vikocoolant spray, also known as cold spray; It is a form of cryotherapy (cold treatment) used in sports medicine, athletic training, sports competitions and rehabilitation environments. It has been demonstrated in the literature that local cold application may cause increased resistance to movement. It has been reported in some studies that muscle can change its mechanical properties in a short time. However, the effect of cold spray application on the mechanical properties of the muscle is unknown. Therefore, in the current study proposal, the investigators aim to investigate the acute effect of cold spray application on the mechanical properties of the quadriceps muscle in athletes.

The Acute Effect of Cold Pack Therapy Applied on Healthy People for Different Periods

The cold pack application, which is a special silicate gel impregnated with water in a soft rubber envelope, is frequently applied in the clinic. It has been shown in the literature that local cold application causes increased resistance to movement. It is also reported that the muscle can change its mechanical properties in a short time. However, the effect of the cooling package application applied in different periods on the mechanical properties of the muscle is unknown. Therefore, in the current study proposal, the investigators aim to investigate the acute effect (0 min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min and 30 min) of cold pack therapy applied on healthy individuals for different periods (10-12-15-20 minutes).

Effect of Propolis Application on Burn Healing

This experimental study will be carried out at Ege University Laboratory Animals Application and Research Center to identify the efficacy of 10% propolis and 15% propolis on wound healing in a second-degree superficial burn wound. In the study, 36 adult (8-12 week old) Wistar-Albino rats with a weight of 200-300 grams will be used in each group. Each group will include 6 rats. Stratified randomization will be used to randomize rats according to their gender and weight. After randomization, a burnt area will be created on the back of the rats and dressings will be made every day. Following the creation of the burn, biopsy samples will be taken on the 3rd, 7th, 14th and 21st days and at the light microscopic level; bulla, erythema, oedema, burn depth, inflammatory cell infiltration, necrosis, ulceration, angiogenesis, neovascularization, fibroblast proliferation, collagenization, epithelization, fibrosis, the number of hair follicles and damage to the skin attachments. In the immunohistochemical examination of biopsy samples, samples will be taken for the evaluation of superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde, myeloperoxidase in the evaluation of the tumour necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-1β and oxidative stress in the EBB period in order to evaluate the acute phase reactants. Fungal and gram staining will be done in order to determine the pathogen reproduction in biopsy samples taken on the 3rd and 7th day. Masson trichrome in order to detect fibrosis in biopsy samples taken on the 14th and 21st day; Hydroxyproline examination will be examined in order to evaluate collagen formation.

However, investigators did not find any study or publication about the use of PRP in second-degree superficial burns in our screening. Investigators planned a prospective randomized controlled and multicenter study to investigate the positive effects of PRP in the treatment of second-degree superficial burn.

Demographical and Clinical Profile of Patients With Left Ventricular Hypertrophy

Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is the most common result of the heart trying to pump blood against the high afterload, as in hypertension and aortic stenosis.Although hypertension is the most common cause of LVH, LVH can also be found in athletes and cardiomyopathies or in storage disorders such as amyloidosis. In addition, genetic diseases also play an important role in the pathogenesis of LVH. Fabry disease is another disease that should be considered in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy.Left ventricular hypertrophy is a common and potentially modifiable cardiovascular risk factor that is frequently overlooked in clinical practice.The benefit of combining ECG and echocardiography in the diagnosis of LVH has been demonstrated.Early diagnosis and treatment-related regression of LVH, reduces adverse cardiovascular events and improves survival.Therefore, the investigators planned to perform a retrospective, observational LVH-TR study in order to determine the etiologic causes of LVH, the symptoms presented by the patients, and the effects of patients' demographic characteristics on LVH.
