There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Colorectal cancer is a common and lethal disease. It still remains the third most common cause of cancer death in women and the second leading cause of death in men. Pain control is an important direction of postoperative management in malignancy surgery. Inadequate pain control increases cardiac and respiratory complications in these critical patients. Erector spinae plane (ESP) block is a recently described regional anesthesia technique that blocks the dorsal and ventral rami of the spinal nerves and the sympathetic nerve fibers. While the ESP block has been shown to provide effective postoperative analgesia after thoracic, and abdominal surgeries. Our aim in this study was to investigate bilateral thoracic ESP block for providing successful postoperative pain management following colorectal surgery.
Sonographically, cervical length measurement is widely used in obstetrics. Studies have revealed that early detection of short cervix can be a predictor of predicting preterm labor. Transvaginal ultrasonography has been shown as a reference method for the recognition of the short cervix, as well as it may be useful in the transabdominal evaluation in the studies conducted. In addition to the advantages of transvaginal evaluation, it is time consuming and disadvantages of some women during anxiety and discomfort during this procedure. Transabdominal ultrasonography, which provides a non-invasive evaluation, is more preferred by some patients than transvaginal. The aim of this study is to investigate the value of the cervical length measured by transabdominal route, which is a more acceptable method for pregnant women, in predicting preterm birth.
An optimal analgesic therapy is very important for postoperative recovery. In recent years, several studies showed that the prevalence of the moderate to severe pain after craniotomy ranged from 69 to 87% of patients. The investigators showed that the use of morphine based patient controlled analgesia prevented moderate to severe postoperative pain in patients undergoing supratentorial craniotomy. Morphine related side effects such as sedation, miosis, respiratory depression, nausea and vomiting produce a general reluctance for their use in neurosurgery. Therefore, all patients were closely observed to detect opioid related side effects in the intensive care unit for 24 hours following surgery in our previous study. The Integrated Pulmonary Index (IPI) is a new tool that calculates respiratory and hemodynamic parameters noninvasively. In the present study the investigators will use different doses of morphine based patient-controlled analgesia and the IPI system to determine more effective and safer morphine dose for postoperative analgesia following supratentorial craniotomy.
LMA insertion provide an intact airway for many surgeries during general anesthesia . LMA insertion technique was defined when it was first produced by Archie Brain . Accordingly, it is recommended to advance the device to the level where resistance is felt blindly. However, placing LMA may not always be smooth and uncomplicated. Thus, gas leaks may occur and intragastric pressure increase may occur due to gastric insufflation. To overcome these difficulties, the placement of the LMA under direct vision using a laryngoscope has been described in several studies . Previous studies have shown that the reliability of the laryngeal mask can be demonstrated by the oropharyngeal cuff leak test . In addition, the classification of the image of the laryngeal structures mediated by fiberoptic imaging and vocal cords from the LMA gives us information about the availability of effective positive pressure ventilation.
The Turkish Version of Life Balance Inventory: Validity, Reliability and Cultural Adaptation.
Gait analysis is an effective tool used for a variety of purposes, including assessing neurological diseases, risk of falling, orthopedic disability and progress during rehabilitation. The analysis of gait and jump performance must be applicable in a clinical setting. Thus; it needs to be easy to apply in a variety of life situations. The measurements should be reproducible, stable, accurate, capable of distinguishing between normal and abnormal conditions, and cost-effective. Jump measures can predict injury risks, serve as talent identification, and replicate explosive competitive activities of athletes. Furthermore, the performance in vertical jumping can be associated with neuromuscular fatigue. The purpose of this study was to confirm the test-retest reliability of the G-walk wearable sensor system for gait and jump parameters in healthy adults.
Total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) and inhalation anesthesia are two anesthesia methods that can be preferred for the maintenance of anesthesia. Sevoflurane and propofol are drugs used frequently in these methods. This study aims to investigate and compare the effects of inhalation anesthesia using sevoflurane and TIVA using propofol on oxidative stress in patients undergoing controlled hypotensive anesthesia.
The purpose of this randomized clinical trial was to evaluate the incidence of postoperative pain after root canal treatment using different final irrigation protocols. Patients whom need root canal treatment for first time were included. The presence of postoperative pain was assessed after root canal treatment cases at 12, 24, 48, 72 hrs and 1 week.
Uncertainty about how to treat existing hemophilic arthropathy (HA) is the most important issue that will increase functionality and joint health. Recent studies have shown that MT can be used safely for improving joint health, pain and ROM with no bleedings in PwH with elbow and ankle HA. Unlike MT studies in hemophilia, we investigated the effects of MT on important parameters such as muscle strength (MS), functional level, joint health, functional independence score in hemophilia (FISH) and kinesiophobia. These parameters are closely related to functional level and quality of life of PwH. Therefore, evaluation of these parameters and determining the effects of the MT on these parameters are very important for both PwH and also clinicians.
Objectives: The study aimed to compare the success and reliability of an artificial intelligence application in the detection and classification of submerged teeth in orthopantomography (OPG). Methods: Convolutional neural networks (CNN) algorithms were used to detect and classify submerged molars. The detection module, which is based on the state-of-the-art Faster R-CNN architecture, processed the radiograph to define the boundaries of submerged molars. A separate testing set was used to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the system and compare it to the expert level. Results: The success rate of classification and identification of the system is high when evaluated according to the reference standard. The system was extremely accurate in performance comparison with observers. Conclusions: The performance of the proposed computer-aided diagnosis solution is comparable to that of experts. It is useful to diagnose submerged molars with an artificial intelligence application to prevent errors. Also, it will facilitate pediatric dentists' diagnoses.
