NCT ID: NCT01709838 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-transfusion Dependent Thalassemia

Efficacy and Safety Study of Deferasirox in Patients With Non-transfusion Dependent Thalassemia

THETIS
Start date: December 6, 2012
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Assessed the efficacy of deferasirox in patients with non-transfusion dependent thalassemia based on change in liver iron concentration from baseline after 52 weeks of treatment. Provided further assessment of the long-term efficacy and safety of deferasirox in NTDT patients with iron overload (LIC ≥ 5 mg Fe/g liver dw and SF ≥ 300 ng/mL) for up to 260 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT01709422 Completed - Clinical trials for Disorders of Gallbladder, Biliary Tract and Pancrease

Efficacy and Safety Profiles of Combination Sedation Propofol With Midazolam and Meperidine.

ERCP
Start date: June 2010
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare efficacy and safety of combination of propofol and midazolam with meperidine versus midazolam and meperidine for ambulatory ERCP

NCT ID: NCT01709084 Completed - Clinical trials for Human Immunodeficiency Virus-type 1 Infection

A Clinical Trial Comparing the Efficacy of Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate/Emtricitabine/Rilpivirine (TDF/FTC/RPV) Versus TDF/FTC/Efavirenz (TDF/FTC/EFV) in Patients With Undetectable Plasma HIV-1 RNA on Current First-line Treatment

SALIF
Start date: October 2, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate noninferiority (a new treatment is equivalent to standard treatment) in terms of the percentage of patients who have plasma human immunodeficiency virus-type 1 (HIV-1) ribonucleic acid (RNA) levels less than 400 copies per mL after 48 weeks of randomized treatment with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate/emtricitabine/rilpivirine (TDF/FTC/RPV) versus TDF/FTC/efavirenz (TDF/FTC/EFV).

NCT ID: NCT01706731 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Major Depressive Disorder

Effectiveness of Buddhist Monks in Providing Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Add-CBT
Start date: October 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This research is to study the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy-CBT and Psychotherapy by trained buddhist monks. There are generally accepted that both cognitive and Buddhist concepts are related. This randomized controlled trial is to study the elderly participants who suffer major depressive disorder according to DSM-IV. The subjects will be divided into two groups. The experimental group will receive 12 sessions of CBT 2 times per week for 6 weeks in addition to usual treatment. The control group will receive treatment as usual and general conversation (non-CBT) with monks. Pretreatment factors (such as attachment style, interpersonal factors) of both therapist monks and patient participants will be studied.

NCT ID: NCT01706627 Completed - Clinical trials for Advanced Stage Cancer

Melatonin In Reduction of Chemotherapy-Induced Toxicity (MIRCIT) Trial

MIRCIT
Start date: August 2007
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Meta-analysis of previous studies have shown that melatonin is a beneficial adjutant for reducing chemotherapy-induced toxicity; however no randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled trials have been conducted. This study evaluates the effect of melatonin in improving quality of life and reducing chemotherapy-induced toxicity in advanced cancer patients. This is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled trial conducted in patients with histologically proven advanced non small cell lung, breast, head and neck or sarcoma cancer. Mixed-block randomization, stratified by center and treatment scheme is used to divide eligible patients into three groups: melatonin 20 mg, 10 mg or matched placebo. The patients are required to take the studied drugs at night (after 21.00 pm) on the first day of chemotherapy and continue daily for six months. Standard treatment is chemotherapy according to each center's standard protocol. Study endpoints are QOL (FACT), adverse event frequency (CTCAE), oxidative stress status, melatonin level, and survival.

NCT ID: NCT01705977 Completed - Clinical trials for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Belimumab Assessment of Safety in SLE

BASE
Start date: November 27, 2012
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to further enhance the existing knowledge regarding the side effects of belimumab when given with other lupus medicines to adults with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This study mainly focuses on collecting information on serious events that are not that common or may only be seen with long-term treatment. These events include death, serious infections and other infections of interest, cancers, serious mental health problems, including depression and suicide, and serious infusion and hypersensitivity reactions. This study is being done to help understand if treatment with belimumab increases the risk for these types of events. This study will also see if patients receiving belimumab with other lupus medicines can reduce their use of steroids, such as prednisone, over 1 year.

NCT ID: NCT01705717 Completed - Clinical trials for Hepatitis C, Chronic
