There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of the study is to compare the progression-free survival (PFS) of once-weekly carfilzomib dosing in combination with dexamethasone to twice-weekly carfilzomib dosing in combination with dexamethasone in adults with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma, previously treated with bortezomib and an immunomodulatory agent (IMiD).
Subgroups of patients with radically operated colorectal cancer can have a better prognosis by over six months are treated with chemotherapy. This beneficial effect may be enhanced somewhat by providing a combination of chemotherapy and the addition of oxaliplatin. It is known that this treatment additions increase the risk of neurotoxic side effects such as sensitivity to cold, numbness and tingling in hands or feet, muscle cramps, pain, taste disorders and swallowing difficulties. The aim is to investigate how colorectal cancer patients with oxaliplatin adjuvant chemotherapy experience neurotoxic effects and if the experience of the symptoms change over time during treatment and how symptoms affect patients' daily lives and quality of life.
The arterial blood pressure affects the ratio between filtration and reabsorption of fluids in the circulating blood volume and thereby the hematocrit. During induction of anesthesia blood pressure, hemoglobin level and hematocrit decreases. The aim of the study is to evaluate weather a maintained blood pressure with norepinephrine during anesthesia induction reduces the decrease in hematocrit.
Type 1diabetes (T1D) is caused by autoimmune destruction of the pancreatic islet ß-cells, leading to an absolute deficiency in insulin. In health, regulatory T cells (Tregs) suppress immune responses against normal tissues, and likewise prevent autoimmune diseases. Tregs are insufficient in T1D. The investigators previously showed that administration of low doses of IL-2 induces selective expansion and activation of Tregs in mice and humans. The investigators hypothesize that Tregs expansion and activation with low doses of IL2 could block the ongoing autoimmune destruction of insulin producing cells in patients with recently diagnosed T1D.
Overall aim is to evaluate HAL for gait training early after stroke and the effect of HAL on short- and long-term functioning, disability and health compared to conventional gait training as part of an inpatient rehabilitation program early after stroke.
NAG is a protein excreted in urine in cases of tubular damage, and is considered a biomarker of kidney injury. Elevated urinary NAG is seen after cardiac surgery, but the clinical significance, pattern of excretion and links to perioperative factors are poorly described. We plan a study of the pattern of NAG-excretion during cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass, and explore possible associated variables.
Formula composition is developed to resemble breast milk as close as possible, but there are still considerable differences between formula and breast milk composition, probably resulting in higher risk of overweight in childhood and higher incidence of infections in formula-fed infants. Protein levels are still higher and constituents such as alpha-lactalbumin lower in formula than in breast milk. By adding more alpha-lactalbumin to formula, rich in tryptophan, the resulting amino acid composition will allow further reduction of protein in formula. The investigators intend to include 320 infants, where 80 will be exclusively breastfed and the remainder assigned in a double blind, controlled, randomized manner to one of three formula groups; two experimental, protein reduced formula with two different levels of alpha-lactalbumin and one group given standard infant formula. The intervention period is from 4-8 weeks until 6 months of age. The infants will be followed by growth parameters, blood-, urine- and fecal biomarkers and health parameters until 5 years of age. The experimental formula will possibly result in growth, metabolism and gut microbiota as well as health parameters more similar to those of breastfed infants
To demonstrate in the patient pool of PASI 90 responders at Week 24 that secukinumab 300 mg s.c. when administered at a longer dosing interval is non-inferior to secukinumab 300 mg s.c. every 4 weeks treatment with respect to maintaining a PASI 90 response rate at Week 52.
The purpose of the study is to determine the occurrence of high-grade (CTCAE v4.0 Grades 3-4), treatment-related, select adverse events in patients with advanced or metastatic Squamous Cell Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (SqNSCLC) with progression of disease during or after at least 1 systemic therapy.
The investigators explore the presence of AD factors beta-amyloid and tau in CSF and plasma to verify AD diagnosis in patients with acute hip fracture. Clinical dementia test is performed prior to operation. Blood samples and CSF samples are collected at surgery and blood samples are collected postoperatively at intervals. Mortality is assessed at 30 days, 3 months and 1 year. Morbidity is assessed at , 3 months and >1 year. Neuromarkers specifically addressing the inflammatory component are to be analyzed and correlated to outcome together with AD markers, as above.
