There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of crenezumab versus placebo in participants with prodromal to mild AD. Participants will be randomized 1:1 to receive either intravenous (IV) infusion of crenezumab or placebo every 4 weeks (Q4W) for 100 weeks. The final efficacy and safety assessment will be performed 52 weeks after the last crenezumab dose. Participants will then have the option to enter the Open Label Extension (OLE) study if eligible. Participants who do not enter the OLE study will have additional follow-up visits at 16 and 52 weeks after the last dose, primarily for safety and also for limited efficacy assessments.
There are severel problems associated with the closing of a temporary loop-ileostomy after surgery for rectal cancer. The purpose of this study is to answer two questions: 1. The choice of anastomotic method - does it influence the postoperative course? 2. The use of a prophylactic mesh when closing the stoma site - will there be less hernias?
Today's increase of dentate elderly, many of them dependent, is a challenge, both according to the personal daily oral hygiene and dentistry. This is not only an oral problem, as research findings point to strong associations between oral and general health, even mortality. These findings are especially noticeable in elderly and frail individuals. Dental care is usually performed in stationary dental clinics where the patients are transported to receive treatment. Dependent elderly dental patients may present many obstacles to traditional dental care due to cognitive limitations or dementia, mobility or transport problems. An alternative is domiciliary dental care where the dental staff performs the treatment by a home visit, in the patients daily living environment. The ability to handle personal oral hygiene is often decreased in these patients and left to overburdened nursing staff that often also lack sufficient knowledge about oral health care, why prophylactic professional oral care is especially important. This type of care can with rather simple equipments be performed as domiciliary treatment of good quality, while more advanced dental care may present restrictions in the home environment. However, in the Swedish dental system with subsidized dental care for dependent and elderly patients, there are restrictions for the number of prophylactic oral care treatments. The levels vary in different counties and regions. The rationale for this is probably tradition and economy as scientific evidence is lacking. The aim with this project is to develop domiciliary professional oral care. The researchers will compare the effect of different regimens for domiciliary prophylactic professional oral care both according to content and frequency. The overall aim is to establish relevant recommendations for domiciliary prophylactic professional oral care.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate patients with glioblastoma that is MGMT-methylated (the MGMT gene is altered by a chemical change). Patients will receive temozolomide plus radiation therapy. They will be compared to patients receiving nivolumab in addition to temozolomide plus radiation therapy.
Prospective, blinded, placebo-controlled trial. Patients: Adult patients (>18 years of age) undergoing de novo Htx, with a preoperative GFR > 30ml/min, not receiving an ABO-incompatible organ with an ischemia time of > 6 hours. A donor age > 70 years is an exclusion criteria. Intervention: Infusion of h-ANP fore five days, starting at the induction of anesthesia. Outcome: Kidney function, evaluated with serum creatinine day 1-7 and kidney clearance, 4-5 Days after Htx plus after 3 and 12 months.
This study aim to compare the efficacy, safety and quality of life of vinflunine/gemcitabine and carboplatin/gemcitabine in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer and impaired renal function.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of Internet-delivered Cognitive Behavior Therapy (ICBT) for children (7-11 years) with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
To explore two modalities of treatment initiation (Pre-discharge, and Post-discharge) with LCZ696 in HFrEF patients following stabilization after an ADHF episode.
The aim of this study is to test the feasibility and acceptability of an internet-delivered cognitive behavior therapy (ICBT) intervention originally developed for neurotypical adolescents with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) in adolescents with OCD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This feasibility study will inform us how to adapt the original intervention to the specific needs of patients with ASD.
Patients with idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (iNPH) have variable difficulties regarding gait, balance, cognition and micturition. A shunt operation will improve these difficulties in most cases. Data suggest however, that they do not change their physical activity postoperatively. Physical training has been shown to be beneficial in patients with similar diseases i.e. Parkinson. The aim of this study is to apply a high intensity physical training program after a shunt operation to see if the patients can improve their physical capacity and ambulatory activity more than patients who only receive standardized written advice about physical training.
