There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
To validate the dosing algorithm for dabigatran etexilate in patients receiving a mechanical heart valve.
The primary goal of the Swedish national rehabilitation plan on pain is to reduce disability and facilitate return-to-work. However, there is a lack of treatment strategies that effectively target and affect return-to-work and reduce sickness absence, and that in addition are sufficiently easy and feasible to administer in primary care. A new activity and life-role targeting rehabilitation program (ALAR) has been developed to reduce psychosocial barriers to rehabilitation progress, promote re-integration into life-role activities and facilitate return-to-work. The program will be implemented and provided as one of the pain treatment modalities available through multi-professional teams in primary care in one Swedish county. This study aims to evaluate the effect of an activity and life-role targeting pain rehabilitation program on the outcome variables return-to-work and sickness absence.
The purpose of this study is to generate long-term safety, tolerability and efficacy data for AFQ056 in eligible adolescent patients with FXS who have participated in the CAFQ056B2214 study, the PK study CAFQ056B2131, or another study of AFQ056 which included FXS patients below 18 years of age provided the patient is at least 12 years of age at the time of entry into the current study.
PF-04691502 is an inhibitor of PI3K and mTOR kinase. Published data support the hypothesis that a PI3K/mTOR antagonist in combination with letrozole might mitigate the intrinsic or acquired resistance to hormonal therapy and restore hormone sensitivity in high risk (high Ki-67) patient population of hormone-sensitive breast cancers. In addition, Ki-67, a marker of cellular proliferation, could be used to select those patients who benefit from treatment with a PI3K-pathway inhibitor.
Probiotics and fruit fibre are given for 12 weeks to patients with fatty liver disease. The hypothesis is that probiotic bacteria and fruit fibre affect the gut microbial composition in a positive manner. The improved ecological system is believed to contribute to improved liver health and thereby counteract fatty liver disease.
This is a Phase 3b, multicenter, international study conducted in 2 parts. Upon completion of the placebo-controlled period (Part 1), participants will have the option of enrolling in a 2-year open-label extension (Part 2). Part 1: The primary objective of the study is to investigate whether treatment with natalizumab slows the accumulation of disability not related to relapses in participants with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). The secondary objectives of Part 1 of this study are to determine the proportion of participants with consistent improvement in Timed 25-Foot Walk (T25FW), the change in participant-reported ambulatory status as measured by the 12-item MS Walking Scale (MSWS-12), the change in manual ability based on the ABILHAND Questionnaire, the impact of natalizumab on participant-reported quality of life using the Multiple Sclerosis Impact Scale-29 Physical (MSIS-29 Physical), the change in whole brain volume between the end of study and Week 24 using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and the proportion of participants experiencing progression of disability as measured by individual physical Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) system scores. Part 2: The primary objective of Part 2 of the study is to evaluate the safety profile of natalizumab in participants with SPMS. The secondary objectives of Part 2 of the study are to investigate long-term disability (based on clinical or patient-reported assessments) in participants with SPMS receiving natalizumab treatment for approximately 4 years and to assess change in brain volume and T2 lesion volume.
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that rhBSSL improves growth in preterm infants as compared with placebo.
The purpose of this trial was to determine the safety and efficacy of eculizumab in the prevention of antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) in sensitized recipients of a living donor kidney transplant requiring desensitization therapy.
Using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), laboratory analyses and patient reported outcomes, the overall aim of this study is to investigate structural injuries and biochemical alterations in the acutely injured knee and to relate these findings to clinical outcomes at various time points.
This study is designed as a proof of concept of KRP203 for induction of remission in ulcerative colitis (UC). The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinical benefit of KRP203 in subjects with moderately active refractory ulcerative colitis. The study will provide safety and tolerability data in this subject population up to eight weeks of treatment with KRP203. Additionally, this study will evaluate the duration of a clinical response to KRP203 by following up responding subjects for an additional 12 weeks.
