There are about 8563 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Sweden. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the study drug lacosamide (200-600 mg/day) when added to a stable dose of levetiracetam (1000-3000 mg/day) with withdrawal of the concomitant sodium channel blocking-antiepileptic drug (AEDs) in subjects not well controlled on their current regimen.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of belimumab administered subcutaneously (SC) to adult subjects with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of siltuximab compared with placebo (an inactive substance that is compared with a drug to test whether the drug has a real effect in a clinical trial) in patients with high-risk smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM).
IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder which is characterized by recurrent pain and/or discomfort, altered stool form, and abdominal distension. It has been established that food items such as beans, peas, lentils, peppers, and onions can increase gas production. What these have in common is that they all contain large amounts of complex carbohydrates. The enzymes in the small intestine are not able to fully digest these large molecules, which in turn are fermented by the colonic microflora. This fermentation is conducted through the production of short chain fatty acids and gases such as hydrogen and methane. Alpha-Galactosidase is an enzyme that has the ability to break down these indigestible carbohydrates to galactose and sucrose in the small intestine and to facilitate the absorption and minimize the gas production from bacteria in the colon. The aim of this study is to assess if the gastrointestinal symptoms, above all problems from gas and distension, is alleviated when the enzyme α-Galactosidase (present in Nogasin capsules) is ingested with food.
This is a phase 3, randomized, 2-arm, open-label, international trial evaluating alisertib compared with single-agent treatment, as selected by the investigator from the offered options of pralatrexate or gemcitabine or romidepsin, in participants with relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL). Note: romidepsin was not used as a single-agent comparator outside the United States of America (USA) as supply was not available.
Patients with Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) often suffer from low platelet levels which may lead to bleeding complications. Treatment with cytotoxic agents can decrease the platelet levels further. Eltrombopag is a relatively new drug that increases the platelet level in the blood by working directly on the bone marrow. It is available for treatment of the disease Immunological Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). In this study patients with MDS and low platelet levels that are treated with the cytotoxic agent Azacitidine will also receive Eltrombopag. The administration of Eltrombopag to MDS patients treated with Azacitidine may result in less dose reductions and less treatment delays for Azacitidine and may reduce the need for thrombocyte transfusions and lower the risk of bleeding complications. This is a phase I study, meaning that our major goal is to investigate the safety and tolerability for Eltrombopag in this patient group. It will also generate a basis for a phase II-III-study.
This trial is conducted globally. The aim of the trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy, including pharmacokinetics (the exposure of the trial drug in the body) of NNC 0129-0000-1003 (N8-GP) in subjects with Haemophilia A.
The purpose of the Swedish Obese Subjects (SOS) study is to examine the long-term effects of bariatric surgery on overall mortality and obesity-related co-morbidities.
Analysis of vitreous proteins in patients undergoing pars plana vitrectomy for proliferative diabetic retinopathy
To evaluate if intravitreal Ozurdex can reduce the incidence of recurrent vitreous hemorrhage after primary pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDRP).
