There are about 3194 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Portugal. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Primary Purpose: - To compare the efficacy in treating dry eye syndrome in contact lens wearers or computer users of Tears Again® versus Opticol® versus Optive® Secondary Purpose: - Subjective evaluation of symptomatology - Evaluation of preference in different kind of administration - spray versus monodoses versus multi-doses
This study is an international, multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in subjects with PAH who are currently receiving approved therapy for their PAH (i.e., endothelin receptor antagonist and/or phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor). Study visits will occur at 4 week intervals for 16 weeks with the key measure of efficacy being the 6-minute walk test. Study procedures include routine blood tests, medical history, physical exams, disease evaluation, and exercise tests. Patients who complete all assessments for 16-weeks will also be eligible to enter an open-label, extension phase study (FREEDOM - EXT).
This was a Phase 3b clinical study in prostate cancer patients which aimed to compare the current standard therapy of a gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist, goserelin (3.6 mg; plus anti-androgen flare protection, bicalutamide), to a novel GnRH antagonist, degarelix (240 mg starting dose/80 mg maintenance dose) with respect to mean percentage reduction in prostate volume. The hypothesis was that degarelix could decrease prostate size at least as effectively as the combination of a GnRH agonist with an anti-androgen for flare protection.
This study was an extension to study MA21573 [NCT00750880], which was an open label single arm study to investigate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of tocilizumab monotherapy, or combination therapy with non-biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis. Patients who completed the 24 week core study, and had at least a moderate European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) response, were eligible to enter this long-term extension study, and received tocilizumab 8 mg/kg intravenous (iv) every 4 weeks. The anticipated time on study treatment was 1-2 years, and the target sample size was > 500 individuals.
The purpose of this observational study is to obtain a survey on physical activity in patients who for the first time have experienced symptoms which indicate a high risk for developing multiple sclerosis (MS) and in patients with recently diagnosed MS, and to obtain information on factors potentially influencing the patients' level of activity.
This is a trial to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of the Freedom SOLO heart valve when used to replace a diseased or dysfunctional aortic valve or aortic valve prosthesis.
The purpose of this study is to assess the long-term safety and effectiveness of botulinum toxin type A on patients with overactive bladder as a result of spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis. This is a follow-up study to two Allergan sponsored studies (NCT00311376 and NCT00461292).
The purpose of ENGAGE is to prospectively collect global 'real world' data on the Endurant Stent Graft System from AAA subjects.
Objectives: - To find out if the chance of developing a serious illness or of getting AIDS is less if patients start taking HIV medicines at a time when their cluster-of-differentiation-4 (CD4)+ cell count is still fairly high, instead of waiting until the CD4+ count is at the level where there is good evidence for starting medicines. - To learn more about how a strategy of starting HIV medicines early might affect other aspects of care, such as the chances of developing other illnesses or resistance to HIV medicines, the frequency of doctor visits, the cost of medical care, and general health and satisfaction.
Patients who have completed the 12 weeks treatment of the PATENT-1 trial (study number 12934) will be asked to participate in this long term extension study with BAY63-2521.
