NCT ID: NCT00920764 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

A Study of Atrasentan on Reducing Albuminuria in Type 2 Diabetic Nephropathy Treated With Renin-Angiotensin System Inhibitors

Start date: June 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The study objective is to investigate the effects of three low doses of atrasentan on urinary albumin/creatinine ratio (UACR) levels in subjects with Type 2 diabetic nephropathy. Patients with Type 2 diabetes with nephropathy must be receiving a renin-angiotensin system inhibitor, such as an Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEi) or an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB) for participation in this study. ACEi and ARB treatment are the standard of care for the management of proteinuria in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients.

NCT ID: NCT00920543 Completed - Asthma Clinical Trials

GSK BHR Study (Sont)

Start date: February 2003
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to determine whether asthma control and reduced bronchial hyperresponsiveness could be achieved and maintained at a lower dose of inhaled corticosteroids with ADVAIR DISKUS twice-daily or FP twice-daily in adult and adolescent subjects with persistent asthma

NCT ID: NCT00919750 Completed - Ependymoma Clinical Trials

Collecting and Storing Blood and Brain Tumor Tissue Samples From Children With Brain Tumors

Start date: February 16, 2004
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to collect and store brain tissue samples and blood from children with brain cancer that will be tested in the laboratory. Collecting and storing samples of tumor tissue and blood from patients to test in the laboratory may help the study of cancer in the future.

NCT ID: NCT00919269 Completed - Rhabdomyosarcoma Clinical Trials

Collecting and Storing Tissue, Blood, and Bone Marrow Samples From Patients With Rhabdomyosarcoma or Other Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Start date: March 15, 1999
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to collect and store tumor tissue, blood, and bone marrow samples from patients with soft tissue sarcoma that will be tested in the laboratory. Collecting and storing samples of tumor tissue, blood, and bone marrow from patients to test in the laboratory may help the study of cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00916474 Completed - Hepatitis C Clinical Trials

Virology Follow up Study in Subjects Previously Treated With Telaprevir

Start date: June 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Observational follow-up study to assess long-term response to telaprevir and to evaluate changes in Hepatitis C virus over time.

NCT ID: NCT00911963 Completed - Hepatitis C Clinical Trials

Pharmacokinetics of Multiple Ascending Doses of VCH-222 in Subjects With Chronic Hepatitis C Infection

Start date: April 2009
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess antiviral activity when administered alone for 3 days or in combination with peginterferon and ribavirin for 12 weeks. This study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of treatment with VCH-222 when given alone or in combination with peginterferon and ribavirin. The study will also evaluate the pharmacokinetic profile of VCH-222 in HCV infected subjects.

NCT ID: NCT00909597 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus Type 2

A Study of Taspoglutide Versus Pioglitazone in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: May 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This double-blind, double-dummy 3 arm study will evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of taspoglutide versus pioglitazone in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus inadequately controlled with sulfonylurea monotherapy or sulfonylurea plus metformin combination therapy. After an initial screening period, patients will be randomized to one of 3 groups, to receive a)taspoglutide 10mg sc weekly, b)taspoglutide 20mg sc weekly after 4 weeks of taspoglutide 10mg sc weekly or c)pioglitazone 45mg/day po after 4 weeks of pioglitazone 30mg/day po.The anticipated time on study treatment is 24 months, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00909480 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Effect of Insulin Detemir and Insulin Glargine on Blood Glucose Control in Subjects With Type 2 Diabetes

EFFICACY
Start date: May 2009
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Asia, South America and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this clinical trial is to determine whether two insulin treatments given once daily are equally effective with respect to the blood glucose lowering effect in subjects with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled on metformin treatment with or without an additional anti-diabetic drug (OAD).

NCT ID: NCT00903422 Completed - Clinical trials for Myelodysplastic Syndrome

Eltrombopag Treatment of Thrombocytopenia in Subjects With Advanced Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) or Secondary Acute Myeloid Leukemia After MDS (sAML/MDS)

Start date: May 14, 2009
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of eltrombopag in the treatment of low platelet counts in adult subjects with advanced myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), secondary acute myeloid leukemia after MDS (sAML/MDS), or de novo AML that are relapsed, refractory or ineligible to receive azacitidine, decitabine, intensive chemotherapy or autologous/allogeneic stem cell transplantation. This is a placebo-controlled study in which patients will receive study medication daily for 6 months, during which time the dose of study medication may be adjusted based upon individual platelet counts and bone marrow blast counts. All subjects will receive best standard of care (platelet transfusions, mild chemotherapy, cytokines, valproic acid, all-trans retinoic acid, ESAs or G-CSF) in addition to study medication. Subjects taking placebo may be allowed to crossover to eltrombopag treatment if a clinically and statistically significant improvement in bone marrow blast counts is seen in subjects treated with eltrombopag.
