There are about 2656 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Puerto Rico. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
RATIONALE: A stress-management program may improve quality of life and reduce anxiety and depression in patients receiving chemotherapy for cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying how well stress management therapy works in patients receiving chemotherapy for cancer.
This study investigates if Celebrex has a lower incident of Gastrointestinal Events than other NSAIDS in subjects with osteoarthritis.
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as gemtuzumab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Giving combination chemotherapy together with gemtuzumab may kill more cancer cells. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective with or without gemtuzumab in treating patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying combination chemotherapy and gemtuzumab to see how well they work compared with combination chemotherapy alone in treating young patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia.
The purpose of this clinical research study is to develop observational clinical experience with the use of entecavir in participants who are either of Black/African-American race or of Hispanic ethnicity.
This phase III trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy works in treating young patients with Down syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndromes. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more cancer cells.
This is a phase 2, randomized, open-label study comparing the safety, antiviral activity, and pharmacokinetics of HCV-796 administered in combination with peginterferon alfa 2B (Peg-Intron) plus concomitant Rebetol vs. Peg-Intron plus Rebetol in Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) genotype 1-infected subjects who are either naive to treatment or who have previously failed treatment (non-responders).
To compare the effectiveness (efficacy, safety & tolerability) of a Single Tablet Regimen of efavirenz/emtricitabine/tenofovir DF to subjects continuing on unmodified HAART as measured by the proportion of patients who maintain viral load (HIV-1 RNA) <200 copies/mL at Week 48.
This study is a Phase 3, global, multi-center, open-label study of patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. Eligible patients will be randomly assigned to receive either pemetrexed plus carboplatin or etoposide plus carboplatin. It is anticipated that pemetrexed plus carboplatin will offer similar survival benefits as compared to etoposide plus carboplatin.
The purpose of this study is to find out about the risk factors for wheelchair-related falls among elderly veterans, and to find out about the costs and consequences of those falls.
This is a 24-week study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a once-daily ritonavir-boosted fosamprenavir regimen (1400mg/100mg QD) to a 200mg ritonavir-boosted fosamprenavir regimen administered either twice-daily or once-daily.
