There are about 13332 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Netherlands. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The Torcetrapib project was terminated on December 2, 2006 due to safety findings. To look at ultrasound images taken in the carotid arteries and to look at various lipids in the blood of people with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the use of sodium valproate is effective in slowing the disease progression in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
Patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy and renal insufficiency are at risk for end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Treatment with cyclophosphamide is currently used as a treatment modality. Mycophenolate mofetil is a new immunosuppressive agent with fewer side effects. In this pilot study patients with membranous nephropathy and renal failure will be treated with mycophenolate mofetil and prednisone. The outcome will be compared with historical controls treated with a similar regimen containing cyclophosphamide.
Patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy at risk for renal failure can be identified in an early stage by measuring urinary low molecular weight proteins and urinary immunoglobulin G (IgG). This study evaluates the possible benefit of early start of immunosuppressive therapy in these high-risk patients.
The primary objective was to determine the effect of teriflunomide on the frequency of relapses in patients with relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS). Secondary objectives were: - to evaluate the effect of teriflunomide on the accumulation of disability as measured by Expanded Disability Status Scale [EDSS], the burden of disease as measured by Magnetic Resonance Imaging [MRI] and patient-reported fatigue; - to evaluate the safety and tolerability of teriflunomide.
The Torcetrapib project was terminated on December 2, 2006 due to safety findings. To look at ultrasound images taken in the blood vessels of the heart and to look at various lipids in the blood of people with known coronary heart disease
The goal of this study is to determine if topical SB-275833 ointment, 1% is as safe and effective as topical sodium fusidate ointment, 2% for the treatment of impetigo in adults and children as young as 9 months of age.
The goal of this study is to determine if topical SB-275833 ointment, 1% is more effective than a placebo ointment in the treatment of primary impetigo.
The objective of this dose-ranging study is to determine the effects of several intravenous (IV) regimens of otamixaban on pharmacodynamic markers (including markers of thrombosis and coagulation markers), safety/tolerability, clinical efficacy and pharmacokinetics.
The treatment of chronic hepatitis C with peginterferon and ribavirin is highly effective but is hampered by peginterferon-induced psychopathology. Prevention of peginterferon-induced psychopathology with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's) (paroxetine) has been shown to be effective in patients treated with interferon for malignant disease. The aim is to study the effects of prophylactic treatment with escitalopram (another SSRI) on peginterferon-associated psychopathology in patients treated with peginterferon and ribavirin for chronic hepatitis C.
