This is a phase I, open-label study to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and preliminary anti-tumor activity of MEDI9447 in Japanese patients with advanced solid malignancies.This study consists of 2 cohorts. Cohort 1 (dose level 1) and Cohort 2 (dose level 2). At least 3 or up to 6 evaluable Japanese patients with advanced solid malignancies will be enrolled in each cohort.

The study is placebo-controlled, meaning that some patients entering the study will not receive active study drug but will receive tablets with no active ingredients (a placebo). This is a dose-ranging study, investigating 5 different dosing regimens. It will be double-blinded, meaning that the sponsor, the study doctors, the staff, and the patients will not know whether a patient is on active study drug (or the dose) or placebo.

Primary objective: To assess acute and long-term outcomes for the Rhythmia Mapping System in conjunction with Boston Scientific Open-Irrigated Ablation Catheters to treat de novo Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation. De Novo PAF is defined as subjects undergoing first ablation procedure for PAF with no prior left atrial ablation (RF, Cryo, Surgical).
