There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
At least 1 dose of pegIFNλ will be identified which is safe, well tolerated, and efficacious for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection (CHB) Amendment 7, Part B Sub Study: The primary purpose of this amendment is to obtain preliminary data on the safety of pegylated interferon Lambda (Lambda) when administered in combination with Entecavir(ETV) to patients with hepatitis E antigen-positive (HBeAg-positive) chronic hepatitis B(CHB) infection employing a sequential therapy approach
The purpose of this study is to determine if treatment with paclitaxel plus AMG 386 is superior to paclitaxel plus placebo in women with recurrent partially platinum sensitive or resistant epithelial ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer or fallopian tube cancer. AMG 386 is a man-made medication that is designed to stop the development of blood vessels in cancer tissues. Cancer tissues rely on the development of new blood vessels, a process called angiogenesis, to obtain a supply of oxygen and nutrients to grow.
This is a study evaluating the safety and efficacy of the monoclonal antibody olaratumab plus mitoxantrone plus prednisone compared to mitoxantrone plus prednisone in metastatic castration-refractory prostate cancer following disease progression or intolerance on docetaxel-based chemotherapy.
This randomized parallel group study will assess the efficacy and safety of erlotinib [Tarceva], as monotherapy or intermittent dosing with docetaxel, in second-line setting in former-smoker male patients with advanced or metastatic squamous non-small cell lung cancer. Patients will be randomized to receive either Tarceva (150 mg/day orally) as monotherapy or 4 cycles of docetaxel (75 mg/m2 intravenously every 3 weeks) plus Tarceva (150 mg/day orally, days 2-16 each cycle) followed by Tarceva monotherapy. Anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression.
The European Surgical Outcomes Study (EuSOS) is a multi-centre, international cohort study of peri-operative care and clinical outcomes for patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery. Participating centres throughout Europe will contribute routine clinical data describing all eligible patients who undergo surgery from 4th April 2011 to 11th April 2011. Patients will then be followed until hospital discharge (or for a maximum of 60 days) for duration of hospital stay and hospital mortality. Routine clinical data will also be collected for those patients admitted to critical care at any stage after surgery but during the same hospital admission. Specific objectives are to describe clinical outcomes and standards of peri-operative care for patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery in Europe.
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of AZD4547 in combination with fulvestrant vs. fulvestrant alone in ER+ breast cancer patients with FGFR1 polysomy (FISH4/5) or gene amplification (FISH 6)
The purpose of this study was to collect long-term safety and tolerability, long-term efficacy, and health outcome data in all patients currently ongoing in the fingolimod multiple sclerosis clinical development program. This study combined all currently ongoing Phase II and III fingolimod extension studies as well as ongoing and newly planned studies into one single long-term extension protocol that provided patients with continuous treatment until fingolimod was registered, commercially available, and reimbursed in the respective countries.
This two-stage, multi-center, randomized, controlled, open-label study will investigate the pharmacokinetics, efficacy and safety of rituximab SC versus rituximab IV in participants with previously untreated follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Participants will be randomized to receive 375 milligrams per meter square (mg/m^2) rituximab as IV infusion or 1400 milligrams (mg) rituximab SC. In addition, participants will receive standard chemotherapy. Participants who achieved a complete or partial response (PR) after 8 treatment cycles, will receive maintenance treatment for a further maximum number of 12 cycles. Maintenance treatment cycles will be repeated every 8 weeks. This is a two-stage study. Stage 1 was designed to confirm the chosen rituximab SC dose resulting in comparable rituximab serum Ctrough levels compared with rituximab IV, when given as part of induction treatment every 3 weeks. Enrollment for Stage 2 started after the rituximab SC dose was established in Stage 1. Stage 2 aimed to further investigate the efficacy and safety of rituximab SC compared with rituximab IV. The anticipated time on study treatment is 96 weeks.
BACKGROUND: Bifurcated lesions are a challenging subset in percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). The selection of the type of drug-eluting stents (DES) and the technique for stent implantation have not been clarified. The side-branch (SB) is emerging as critical point, accounting for more than a third of the significant restenosis in the DES era. A series of data supports the adoption of a conservative strategy: stenting the main vessel (MV) only and reserving a conservative approach on the SB. Yet, the clinical relevance in terms of inducible ischemia of sub-optimal angiographic result has not been clarified. AIMS OF THE STUDY: The aims of the present study are: 1. to compare in a prospective study the acute 3D angiographic results and the late clinical outcome of Sirolimus-eluting (SES) vs Everolimus-eluting (EES) vs Zotarolimus eluting stent (ZES) obtained using a provisional TAP-stenting technique. 2. to prospectively assess the clinical relevance (inducible ischemia) of suboptimal angiographic result in the SB after stenting. METHODS TO BE APPLIED: 75 consecutive patients with bifurcated lesions undergoing PCI with the provisional T-and-small-protruding (TAP) technique with ZES implantation will be enrolled. Procedural and post-PCI details will be prospectively recorded. The subgroup of patients in which complete revascularization has been achieved will enter a systematic assessment of inducible ischemia by early and late exercise tests. Off line 3D quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) assessment will be performed and used to divide the study population in 2 groups according to the SB residual stenosis: - Group O (optimal SB angiographic result): post-PCI SB area stenosis<50% - Group S (sub-optimal SB angiographic result): post-PCI SB area stenosis>50%. For the comparison among SES and EES, data will be obtained from the randomized trial SEA-SIDE (NCT00697372). PRIMARY STUDY END-POINTS. 1. COMPARISON BETWEEN ZES, SES AND EES: SB acute angiographic result; SB trouble; target bifurcation failure. 2. SB-RELATED ISCHAEMIA of Group O vs Group S in patients with complete revascularization: inducible ischemia at the early exercise test or occurrence of early spontaneous ischemia related to the SB.
Prospective, non-interventional, multi-center study. Each subject will be followed for up to twelve months during the treatment with oral hormonal contraceptives(Qlaira ® or a Progestin Only Pill). For each subject demographic data and medical history will be documented at Visit 1: (Baseline). Bleeding profile, subjective assessment of study treatment (satisfaction and wellbeing) and adverse events including unintended pregnancies will be documented at Visit 2 (Month 3-5) and Visit 3 (Month 6-12). Data audit/monitoring will be done.
