There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Covid-19 is associated with a mortality rate of 33-37% in patients with hematological malignancies. At present, the anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccination represents the most effective strategy for the prevention of Covid-19. Patients with malignancies were excluded from the trials leading to the approval of Comirnaty, Moderna, Vaxzevria and Janssen vaccines. The immunogenicity of these vaccines in immunocompromised patients or with hematological malignancies is an unmet clinical need. The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of vaccination in adult patients with hematological malignancies, who received vaccination according to Italian rules and were in treatment at the Hematology Unit of Varese, Italy Efficacy will be evaluated in terms of serological response, cellular-mediated immune response and prevention of Covid-19. The duration of the study will be 24 months.
The aim of this study is to develop a CT scan-based radiomics predictive model about tumor regression grade (TRG) in patients with esophago-gastric junction (EGJ) ang gastric cancer undergoing perioperative chemotherapy. The molecular expression of the neoplasms will be evaluated to assess its association with the TRG and the radiomic features.
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the objective response rate (ORR), by cohort, rrcHL and rrPMBCL, as assessed by the investigator according to Lugano classification criteria 2014 in participants treated with pembrolizumab Q6W.
An observational study to describe the effectiveness, safety, and patient-reported outcomes in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) receiving filgotinib in real-world setting.
Lung Ultrasound (LUS) has been revealing an extremely useful tool to identify and monitor complications from Sars-COV-2 disease. Recently, a research group has proposed a score, named LUS Score, able to optimize the use of this diagnostic technique. LUS Score is computed analyzing chest posterior and lateral spaces, considering the number of artefacts generated by the inflammed interstitium (B lines), the characteristics of the pleural line and the presence or not of consolidation areas. The comparison between LUS and chest tomography (CT), the current gold standard for the diagnosis of interstitial pneumonia by COVID-19, has confirmed from the preliminary data, the reliability of such technique. Hence, the validation on a really large sample size of the ultrasound tool performed by dedicated personnel with high expertise, may allow the validation both in the clinical practice and in emergency and ordinary wards.
The current study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of AL102 in patients with progressive desmoid tumors.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of bepranemab versus (vs) placebo on the Clinical Dementia Rating Scale Sum of Boxes (CDR-SB) up to Week 80 in study participants with prodromal or mild Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
We are doing this study to learn more about how semaglutide may help fight chronic kidney disease in people with type 2 diabetes. We are doing this by looking into how semaglutide works in the kidneys. Participants will either get semaglutide or placebo (a 'dummy' medicine) - which treatment participants get is decided by chance. Semaglutide is a medicine doctors can prescribe in some countries for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Participants will get the study medicine in a pen. Participants will use the pen to inject the medicine into the skin once a week. The study will last for about 1 year. Participants will have 11 visits to the clinic, and 2 phone visits. Some of the visits could be in different locations. Study staff will take blood samples at most of these visits. At 9 visits, participants will be asked to bring a sample of their first morning urine. At 4 of the visits participants will have to bring urine that they have collected over the last 24 hours. The study includes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of participants' kidneys which is a test that shows a detailed picture of organs and other parts inside the body. The scan will last for 30 minutes, and is free of radiation.
The CARE-HK in HF is a registry study based on the hypothesis that adherence to guidelines is associated with improved real-world outcomes for heart failure (HF) patients. For the purpose of this study, adherence to guidelines is defined as adherence to RAASi treatment recommendations, according to the AHA/ACC and ESC guidelines. Objectives relating to patiromer effectiveness will only be evaluated if a sufficient number of patients are available. The study aims to evaluate in patients at high risk of hyperkalaemia; patients treated with ACEi/ARB/ARNi, and either treated with or candidates for treatment with MRA.
A prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, multi-center therapeutic study for patients age 3 and older with confirmed diagnosis of Niemann Pick disease type C1 (NPC1). The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of 2000 mg/kg dose of Trappsol Cyclo (hydroxypropyl betacyclodextrin) administered intravenously compared to standard of care. An open-label sub-study in countries following European Medicines Agency (EMA) guidance will enroll asymptomatic or symptomatic patients from infancy up to age 3 to evaluate safety in that population.
