This study evaluates the ability of deep learning to improve the knowledge about structural and vascular retinal changes in diabetic patients undergoing artificial pancreas device, using optical coherence tomography angiography.
In this study on healthy subjects, the effect of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) will be investigated. In particular, the distinction between periodic and aperiodic electroencephalogram (EEG) activity will be considered, as well as the state-dependency phenomenon. Participants will take part in two experimental sessions that will include tACS stimulation (one real, one control). Before, during, and after stimulation, subjects will have their EEG recorded during rest or during tasks. The aim of this study is to investigate how the modulatory effects of gamma-tACS interact with intrinsic neural activity, measured in terms of periodic and aperiodic activity, as well as neurophysiological and behavioral modulation, taking into consideration the state-dependency phenomenon, which refers to the brain's activation state prior to stimulation.
Patients affected by breast cancer undergo radiotherapy with bare chest and can therefore live the moments in which they undress in front of the radiation therapy technologists (RTTs) in charge of their treatment as an extremely embarrassing one. Furthermore, for some of these patients the relationship with their bodies has indeed changed since surgery (i.e. mutilations, scars), particularly for specific age or socio-economic groups. In this context, sub-standard care in maintaining modesty during breast cancer radiotherapy has been reported in literature, even if poorly studied. Aim of this multicentric observational study is to describe how modesty is perceived by patients undergoing radiotherapy for breast cancer.
Evaluate de novo onset of metabolic syndrome, NAFLD and NASH in liver transplant recipients who have discontinued immunosuppressive therapy ("tolerant") and in those taking immunosuppressive therapy ("non-tolerant").
Dry eye disease (DED), also called keratoconjunctivitis sicca, is a common ocular condition characterized by a loss of homeostasis of the tear film and inflammation of the ocular surface. The typical symptoms of DED include irritation, discomfort, blurred or fluctuating vision. Over the counter (OTC) artificial tears are typically the first line of dry eye treatment; they are meant to supplement the tears that cover the eye's surface. OTC products mimic the different layers of the tear film in order to maintain ocular hydration. HA is found in higher concentrations in the vitreous humor of the eye, cartilage, and the synovial fluid. As a component of the tear film, HA increases the viscosity of the tear film and hydrates and lubricates the ocular surface. HA possesses intrinsic water retention properties, viscoelasticity, and favors the healing of corneal and conjunctival epithelium. For these reasons, an interventional, non-comparative, single-center Post Marketing Clinical Follow-up (PMCF) study was planned to evaluate the performance and safety of "HA-based eyedrops" used as intended to relieve dry eye symptoms. The objectives of the PMCF study are confirmation of the performance, collection of additional safety data regarding expected adverse events and detection of potential unexpected adverse events associated with use of "HA-based eyedrops" according to the IFU. "Hyaluronic Acid (HA)-based eyedrops" are medical devices used as intended to improve the discomfort due to dry eye (for intrinsic and/or extrinsic causes), contact lenses wearing and/or eye surgery. Each Subject, after signing the Informed Consent Form, will enter the screening and baseline phase (the 2 visits will coincide) during which baseline procedures will be completed. At baseline visit (V0), one of the "Hyaluronic Acid (HA)-based eyedrops" products can be dispensed to the enrolled Subjects, depending on Investigator clinical evaluation, and severity of the disease. The patient will perform 2 on site visits (V0 and V2/EOS). To monitor the safety, 1 phone contact is planned (V1) to check for potential adverse events (AEs) and concomitant medications intake.

Main limitations in Glioma studies are due to the wide heterogeneity and genetic instability of the tumor and to the fact that the molecular informations are static, i.e. obtained on the tumor at its onset. Instead, spontaneous or therapy-induced variations are difficult to evaluate and they would need further sampling of the tumor throughout the clinical history. Currently these data are more and more routinely used not only for diagnostics but also in the clinical management of the patient. Furthermore, microenvironment study is becoming increasingly important. It is also important correlate morpho-functional pathway and brain Magnetic Resonance. Therefore, the main goal of the study is to correlate the data obtained with morphological (site, signal intensity, margins, behavior after contrast medium infusion, mismatch between T2 and FLAIR sequences) and non-morphological MR imaging through a radiomic approach and Diffusion and Perfusion study, with molecular data relating to the IDH mutation, MGMT gene promoter methylation, 1p/19q co-deletion and EGFRvIII expression. Furthermore, it is proposed to carry out a correlation between the radiological data and the mutations found in the NGS panel.
This study is an observational study that aims to validate the Elderly Mobility Scale (EMS) in Italian (EMS-I) by comparison with the Barthel Index scale, already validated in Italian. Furthermore this study wants to evaluate the inter-rater reliability comparing the scores assigned to the same sample of patients by two independent evaluators. The study population includes 50 elderly in-patients eligible for physiotherapy.
During hospital stay, a family centered therapeutic approach is increasingly seen as the preferred clinical and care model to be adopted, since it is effective in promoting the neurobehavioral development of the infant and the psychophysical health of the family. In preterm infant, parental relationship and parental relationship-centered interventions, such as kangaroo mother care (KMC), are actively promoted. Studies carried out with electroencephalography showed that preterm infants who participated in KMC interventions have, when reach term equivalent age, a similar level of maturity as healthy full-term infants. It has also been observed that KMC carried out in preterm infant with gestational age <33 weeks promotes adequate development of the primary motor cortex during adolescence. Recent scientific evidence showed an early response to relational stimulations, in particular to their emotional content, of term infants. After few days of life, the infant's brain picks up messages from the human context and interacts with them. For example, a study using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) showed increased activation of the right frontal cortex in infants in association with their mother's direct speech. Similar neuroimaging studies have not yet been conducted in preterm infants during hospitalization. The aim of this study is to assess the activation of the cerebral cortex of the preterm infant in the course of 1) KMC and 2) listening to their mother's voice, using optical topography, a multichannel NIRS system.
AlphaGST represents a liver enzyme whose serologic levels progressively increase in alcoholic and viral chronic hepatitis according to the worsening of liver fibrosis. However, its diagnostic and prognostic usefulness in Metabolic-dysfunction-Associated-Steatotic-Liver-Disease has never been explored. The investigators aimed to assess the alphaGST levels in Metabolic-dysfunction-Associated-Steatotic-Liver-Disease patients affected by different stages of liver fibrosis, and, by using a new-designed "Metabolic Abnormalities Related to lipids- Insulin resistance-AlphaGST levels" (MARINA) index, to evaluate its role as a novel non-invasive tool in the disease staging stratification, identification of the advanced fibrosis and prediction of 5-years acute cardiovascular events occurrence. The investigators enrolled 30 ehalthy controls and 200 metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease patients (Training cohort) (TrC). As a validation cohort (VlC), between January 2018 and May 2019, 60 MASLD patients were consecutively enrolled (Validation Cohort - VlC) All Metabolic-dysfunction-Associated- Steatotic-Liver-Disease patients received an ultrasound-guided percutaneous liver biopsy for the disease staging. Liver stiffness measurement, NAFLD fibrosis score, Fibrosis-4, and body mass index-aspartate aminotransferase/Platelet Ratio-Diabetes scores as well as the MARINA index were determined. Naïve-acute cardiovascular events patients were subsequently followed up over 5 years to record acute cardiovascular events occurrence.
