This is a prospective observational study in an Italian general-neurologic ICU. Sleep was monitored during the night, using a simplified polysomnography(PSG), for a maximum of five consecutive nights. Adults patients were eligible for the study if they remained in the ICU for at least 24 hours
Multi-center, international, prospective, randomized, double-blind, two-arms, sham-controlled, first-in-human clinical investigation. The Patients will be allocated to one of the following groups: - Group A (Active Device Group): Patients will receive a fully functioning vPatch device, pre-configured to deliver stimulation intensity according to the subjective motor threshold intensity reported by the Patients. Pre-configured stimulation intensity cannot be changed by the Patient. - Group B (Sham Device Group): Patients will receive a vPatch device pre-configured to deliver the sensory electrical stimulation according to the subjective sensory threshold that is ineffective for muscle activation. Pre-configured stimulation intensity cannot be changed by the Patient. The study will start with a Screening Visit (Visit 1), when potential Patients complaining of PE will be informed about the investigation and its objectives. If they agree to participate, after signing a valid Informed Consent Form they will undergo a full medical history and physical examination and will be selected according to eligibility criteria except IELT (which will be examined at the next visit). The primary objective of this study is to assess the safety profile of the vPatch device and its effectiveness in delaying ejaculation when used in Patients suffering of PE. The secondary objectives of this study are: - To assess the Patient's perception of the ease of use of the vPatch device and treatment, through the use of a dedicated questionnaire (Usability Questionnaire). - To assess the Patient's perception of the changes in his Premature Ejaculation Profile (PEP) under different aspects with the use of device, through the use of a dedicated questionnaire (Control and Distress Domains of the Premature Ejaculation Profile (PEP) Questionnaire). - To assess the Patient's perceived intensity of orgasm by using the vPatch device, through the use of a validated tool (Orgasmometer).

The device is an experimental, portable, battery operated device for chronic administration of alternating electric fields (termed TTFields or TTF) to the region of the malignant tumor, by means of surface, insulated electrode arrays.
In this observational study researchers want to learn more about changes in visual acuity (clarity of vision) with proactive flexible treatments over time in patients suffering from wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) after decision to treat with Aflibercept (Eylea) was made. Wet AMD is an eye disease that progressively destroys the macula, the central portion of the retina, impairing central vision.
Over 1 million people in the European Union (EU) suffer from chronic refractory epilepsy. Their quality of life (QoL) is severely affected by seizures and by the adverse effect of antiepileptic drug (AED) treatment. Several new AEDs have been introduced in recent years, but their impact on the long-term outcome in these patients has been inadequately explored. Preliminary data from the U.S. suggests that using a standardize toll to quantitate adverse AED effects can improve outcome, but the general applicability of these findings is unclear. Objectives: 1) To assess prospectively AED utilization patterns in patients with refractory epilepsy ; 2) to assess how such treatments and other variables correlated with seizure control, adverse effects, and QoL in these patients; 3) to establish the impact of a standardized evaluation of adverse effects on clinical outcome. Methods: The project included a core observational study and a randomized intervention in a subcohort. In the core (observational) study, 1,000 consecutive refractory epilepsy patients were enrolled and followed-up prospectively at 10 centres in Italy. The following parameters were recorded at 0 (entry), 6, 12 and 18 months: (i) drug therapy; (ii) seizure frequency; (iii) adverse events based on medical examination and non-structured interview; (iii) treatment costs and, (iv) for patients above age 16, standardized questionnaires for adverse effects (AEP), depressive symptoms (Becks Depression Scale, BDS), QoL (QOLIE-31) and clinical global impression (CGI). The primary outcome (changes in QOLIE-31 scores) will be related to the other variables measured. In the randomized intervention, the subcohort meeting specific eligibility criteria (age >16 years, no progressive disorder, AEP score>=45 ) was randomized to two groups. In the intervention group, AEP score results were made available to the physician at each visit, while in the other group AEP scores were only made available at the end of follow-up. Primary outcome were changes in AEP score.
After the implantation of a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), many patients continue to experience exercise intolerance. LVAD echo guided optimization (EO) determines a more favorable hemodynamic profile and could provide an improvement on functional capacity (FC). VAFRACT is a prospective randomized trial to evaluate the additional benefit of an EO approach on FC, measured by cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET), in LVAD optimization free population.
Patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) present an impaired intestinal permeability with consequent lipopolysaccharide (LPS) translocation in the systemic circulation. Plasmatic lipoproteins play a key role in the detoxification of LPS. The investigators aim to study the relationships between lipoprotein chemical composition and plasma LPS circulation in PD.
This single-arm, prospective, observational multicenter study will collect clinical data in a post-market setting across two different specialties in Robotic surgical procedures: Bariatric Sleeve gastrectomy (Staple line reinforcement) and Hysterectomy (Vaginal cuff closure). Investigators will perform the procedure using SFX Spiral PDS Plus in compliance with their standard surgical approach and the IFU.
The aim of the study is to establish a new and more accurate method to visualize the peritoneal changes caused by endometriosis using Indocyanine Green mediated fluorescence imaging. The hypothesis is that Indocyanine Green, a fluorescent dye that has wide applications throughout medicine in identifying vascularity of tissues and neo-vascularization, could facilitate the localization and excision of endometriotic lesions exploiting the hypervascularization due to the chronic inflammation. The already published Pilot Study GRE-ENDO (Cosentino F, Near-Infrared Imaging with Indocyanine Green for Detection of Endometriosis Lesions (Gre-Endo Trial): A Pilot Study.), encouraged the effort of a larger prospective trial. Based on the mini-max two-stage design by Simon [Simon R. Optimal two stage design for phase II clinical trials], the investigators tested the null hypothesis that the true rate of pathologically assessed endometriosis would improve from 87% to the clinically relevant alternative of 100.0%, as assessed by NIR-ICG laparoscopy.
