NCT ID: NCT05036837 Suspended - Clinical trials for MEDICATION RELATED OSTEONECROSIS OF THE JAW

Infiltration of Medical Ozone for the Treatment of Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaws (MRONJ)

OZOPROMAF
Start date: February 1, 2018
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a serious adverse reaction of antiresorptive and antiangiogenic agents; it is also a potentially painful and debilitating condition. Today, no specific studies have prospectively evaluated the efficacy of its treatment and no robust standard of care has been established. Among non-invasive procedures to treat MRONJ, the use of medical ozone (O3) arises for its properties and has been deployed and evaluated. O3 has generally proven to play a role in the treatment of chronic, nonhealing, or ischemic wounds, due to its antimicrobial and anti-oxidant properties and to bio-stimulation; it has been extensively used for different medical approaches and purposes. In oral cavity, local applications are carried out by ozonized water (i.e. spray or compress) or gel. The aim of this open trial is to assess the efficacy and the safety of O3 by a new method of application, i.e. infiltrations of oral mucosa, in patients with a diagnosis of MRONJ, which are non-eligible for the standard of care, regardless staging. All cases included in our study are MRONJ and staged according to the classification of the Italian Societies of Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Surgery (the SICMF/SIPMO staging system); in addition, they arereported to AIFA, the Italian Medicines Agency, for registration of the adverse event drug related.Patients included in our study are selected due to their non-eligibility to the standard treatment (conservative/medical for long term or surgical alone) for unstable systemic conditions or unaccepted consent due to extensive proposed approach due to the advanced disease. During the first examination (T0), medical, pharmacological, and dental history of patients are recorded. Data collected are: (1) age; (2) gender; (3) indications for use, type, cumulative dose and duration of MRONJ-related drugs; (4); history of chemotherapy; (5) other medications; (6) other diseases; (7) smoking. For every patient, Cone Beam CT dental scan or maxillofacial CT scan has performed for staging at T0 and 12 (T4) months after; orthopantomograph has performed during protocol (T3). The main CT features evaluated and associated to MRONJ presence and healing are as follows: a) bone sclerosis, b) depth of lesion; c) formation of sequestrum. When more than one MRONJ lesion are present, the protocol is applied one by one.

NCT ID: NCT04768790 Suspended - Neck Pain Clinical Trials

Effects of Multimodal Exercises Integrated With Cognitive-behavioral Therapy in Subjects With Chronic Neck Pain

Start date: November 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The etiology of cervical pain is multifactorial and studies based on the bio-psychosocial model also link chronic neck pain to psychological factors. Among them, kinesiophobia has been reported as an important determinant. Over time, the use of multidisciplinary interventions for chronic vertebral pain (instead of segmental treatments) has grown in order to improve disability, pain and proactive behaviors towards the problem manifested. To date, the evidence relating to the effects of multidisciplinary approaches is inconclusive and lacking. In light of these premises, it appears necessary to deepen the conduct of studies aimed at evaluating the efficacy of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation program that integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy based on kinesiophobia with specific exercises, in the treatment of chronic neck pain of working subjects.

NCT ID: NCT04364308 Suspended - Fetal Hypoxia Clinical Trials

The Relationship Between Umbilical Cord ph and Feto-maternal Doppler Studies in Scheduled Nonlaboring Term Singleton Caesarean Deliveries

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Perinatal asphyxia is a crucial reason for neonatal and childhood morbidity and death. Fetal and neonatal acidemia can be utilised as predictors for establishing such risk. Several researches have reported a marked relation between low values of fetal pH with short- and long-term adverse neonatal outcomes. Umbilical cord blood gas studies (UCGS) are considered critical data that gives an objective and certified evaluation of the oxygenation and metabolic status of the fetus. Before birth, the physician can evaluate fetal wellness through cardiotocography and prenatal ultrasound. Other studies had examined the role of fetal Doppler indices before birth and proposed that fetuses with lower impedance in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) or low cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) are at increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcome. However, no research has ever evaluated the possibility of a correlation between ultrasonographic fetal evaluation and fetal umbilical cord pH as a predictor of pre-delivery fetal pH. The goal of our study was to discovered a potential association between the venous umbilical ph cord blood at delivery and the ultrasonographic feto-maternal doppler indices in patients with a scheduled nonlaboring term singleton caesarean deliveries (SCD), this research is a novel finding.

NCT ID: NCT04231058 Suspended - Dyspnea Clinical Trials

Non-pharmacological Treatment of Dyspnea in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

COPD
Start date: May 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Dyspnoea is one of the most important determinants of quality of life and often limits the activities of daily life, in subjects suffering from moderate-to-severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Pharmachological treatment of dyspnoea is affected by several side effects and, in long-lasting treatments, a reduction of clinical efficacy may occur. Previous studies showed a reduction of perceived dyspnoea after trials of acupuncture or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation over acupoints (Acu-TENS). In this study will be investigated the effect of Acu-TENS on lung function and dyspnoea in patients with moderate-to-severe COPD (Cronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
