NCT ID: NCT01088217 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Role of Genetics in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)

GWAS
Start date: July 2008
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to investigate inherited genetic factors that play a role in the development of familial pulmonary fibrosis and to identify a group of genes that predispose individuals to develop pulmonary fibrosis. Finding the genes that cause pulmonary fibrosis is the first step at developing better methods for early diagnosis and improved treatment for pulmonary fibrosis. The overall hypothesis is that inherited genetic factors predispose individuals to develop pulmonary fibrosis.

NCT ID: NCT00588562 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Primary Hyperoxaluria

Rare Kidney Stone Consortium Patient Registry

RKSC
Start date: July 2003
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to collect medical information from a large number of patients in many areas of the world with primary hyperoxaluria (PH), Dent disease, Cystinuria and APRT deficiency. This information will create a registry that will help us to compare similarities and differences in patients and their symptoms. The more patients we are able to enter into the registry, the more we will be able to understand the Primary Hyperoxalurias,Dent disease, cystinuria and APRT and learn better ways of caring for patients with these diseases.

NCT ID: NCT00376792 Recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Docetaxel Compared With Observation in Treating Patients Who Have Undergone Radical Prostatectomy for Prostate Cancer

Start date: October 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving docetaxel after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery. Sometimes, after surgery, the tumor may not need more treatment until it progresses. In this case, observation may be sufficient. It is not yet known whether giving docetaxel after surgery is more effective than observation in treating prostate cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying docetaxel to see how well it works compared with observation in treating patients who have undergone radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00271180 Recruiting - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Product Performance Report: Evaluate Long-term Reliability & Performance of Medtronic Marketed Cardiac Therapy Products

PPR
Start date: January 1983
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The main purpose of the Product Performance Report (formerly referred to as System Longevity Study) is to evaluate long-term performance of Medtronic market-released cardiac rhythm products by analyzing product survival probabilities.
