There are about 5618 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in India. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The study is done with the aim of finding the association between the bilirubin and bile acids / DAMPS molecule with organ failures and sepsis in the patients with acute on chronic liver failure . in this study there are 2 parts in the first part people who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be recruited and blood samples will be taken and above mentioned molecules will be analyzed and association ,if any with occurrences of organ failures / new onset sepsis will be analyzed . In the second part of the study the patients who meet the criteria will be randomized to either receive standard medical therapy or with either haemoperfusion or therapeutic plasma exchange with standard medical therapy . blood samples will be taken and stored, bile acids (primary and secondary bile acids, bilirubin and damps molecules will be analysed .the patients are followed for 90 days , then statistical analysis will be done to find the association with organ failures and new onset sepsis .
All consecutive patients with cirrhosis of liver who satisfy the criteria will be included and will be evaluated clinically along with all routine investigations and standard medical therapy will be continued among these patients. The patients between 18-60 yrs of age (cirrhosis diagnosed on the basis of clinical, biochemical, fibroscan & imaging.) , with ascites and HVPG (Hepatic Venous Pressure Gradient) >12, with 2 or more large volume paracentesis in last 3 month . CTP ≥ 7-13 will be considered for the study. At baseline, a complete history of the cause of cirrhosis of liver with clinical and physical examination, a record of demographic profile, standard of care biochemical investigations would be done. In this study patients who satisfy the inclusion and exclusion criteria as mentioned below will be enrolled to receive either standard medical therapy with Large volume paracentesis and albumin infusion or to be randomised to receive TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt). The patients in group A will be given standard medical therapy only included as per requirement nutritional therapy (high calorie intake- 2400 Kcal/ day) as and when required Large Volume Paracentesis (LVP) and albumin infusion and diuretics.
The present study is proposed to compare a rapid fractionation schedule of 1 week compared to a protracted schedule of 6-8 weeks for palliation for locally advanced cervical cancer.
The presence of YKL- 40 an acute phase protein in both chronic periodontitis and rheumatoid arthritis. However, till date no studies has been done on the levels of gingival crevicular fluid YKL-40 following scaling and root planing, the present study which is first of its kind is designed to detect and estimate the gingival crevicular fluid YKL-40 levels in healthy patients, chronic periodontitis and patient with chronic periodontitis having rheumatoid arthritis at baseline and chronic periodontitis having rheumatoid arthritis 6 weeks post periodontal therapy (scaling and root planning [SRP]). This could throw more light on it and extend our knowledge on its role in both the conditions.
- Study Population- Patient with cirrhosis with any aetiology with sarcopenia visiting ILBS OPD/IPDs who are willing to visit ILBS gymnasium twice weekly for first month. - Study Design- A Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial - Study Period- Study will be conducted at ILBS from April 2019 to Oct 2019 - Sample Size:As shown by Eva Roman et al - in cirhotics with sarcopenia exercise increases mean lean appendicular mass , by 0.38 kg (14 patients, p < 0.03), and Sinclair et al has shown testosterone (22 patients, p <0.05)) to increase mean Appendicular lean mass by +1.69 kg - for 10% increase in APLM - we need to enroll 40 patients in each arm, and considering a los to follow up approx.10% , will require minimum 44 patients in each arm - We will therefore enroll and randomize 100 patients with 50 in each arm. Intervention - Testosterone Supplementation - Intramuscular Testosterone Undecanoate 1000 Mg (4 ml volume in oily base) will be injected into the upper, outer quadrant of the buttock at 0, 6, 12,16,20, 24 weeks according to manufacturer recommendations. Monitoring and assessment - On every visit patient will be inquired or evaluated for side effects like local site pain or hematoma , hypertension, headache, allergic reactions, acne, nausea , mood swings, pedal edema , breast enlargement and others.
Prospective data will be collected in approximately 200 patients treated with an TMJ replacement. Patients will be followed up according to the standard (routine) for up to 5 years after the treatment. Data collection will include underlying disease, treatment details, functional and patient reported outcomes (PRO)s and anticipated or procedure-related adverse events (i.e. complications). This registry is designed to be able to assess the number of patients who refuse alloplastic total TMJ replacement. Therefore, the participating sites are asked to register all cases of refused TMJ replacements too.
it is a single blind randomised control study which aims to study the effect of PEG3350 in resolution of overt hepatic encephalopathy in patients of acute on chronic liver failure. this will be compared with the standard of care in the management of hepatic encephalopathy.
Background: Parkinson disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder and characterized by tremor, rigidity and bradykinesia. Almost 84% of PD patient develops respiratory abnormalities and pointed as the most common cause of death. Airway obstruction, trunk muscle rigidity is the common cause of respiratory abnormalities. Purpose: The main purpose of the study will evaluate the efficacy of chest PNF on pulmonary function and chest wall mobility in PD. Methods: 20 participants will be recruited for study purpose and divide into two groups. Group= A will be the control group and participants will receive conventional treatment which includes deep breathing exercise and segmental breathing exercise, incentive spirometry etc for one week. Group= B participants will receive chest PNF exercise along with conventional treatment for a week. Pretreatment and post-treatment data will be recorded by the help of PFT (FVC, FEV1 & FEV1/FVC) and chest wall expansion at axillary and xiphisternal level for data analysis. Data analysis will be done by paired t-test for within group and independent t-test will be used for the between-group variable. The level of significance will be set at 0.05.
Sarcopenic obesity occurs when there is a loss of muscle and gain of fat in the body. With this study, the investigators will explore how nutritional status at the beginning of the treatment can cause changes in your child's body fat compared to muscle in the body. The investigators will also look at how these changes can impact a child's cancer treatment, survival from treatment, and if there is any deterioration in health and nutrition status. The primary objective of this study is to establish the incidence of sarcopenic obesity, measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), among Indian children and adolescents with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
The TRACK trial is an investigator-initiated, multicentre, prospective, randomised, quadruple-blind (participant, healthcare provider, data collector, outcomes assessor), placebo-controlled trial. TRACK is a global trial and will be conducted in renal units that provide comprehensive CKD care. Approximately 2000 participants will be recruited. The TRACK trial will assess a strategy of administering low dose rivaroxaban to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiac event (MACE) in people with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) stages 4 or 5 or dialysis-dependent kidney failure, and elevated cardiovascular (CV) risk (marked by a history of CAD or PAD, or non-haemorrhagic non-lacunar stroke OR diabetes mellitus OR age ≥65 years).
