NCT ID: NCT01497717 Completed - Arthritis; Behcet Clinical Trials

Efficacy of Humira in Behcet Patients With Arthritis

Start date: July 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Hypothesis - Behcet's disease is a multisystemic chronic relapsing inflammatory disease, classified among the vasculitides. The clinical manifestations include mucocutaneous lesions, articular, ocular, vascular, gastrointestinal and/or central nervous system involvement. The aetiology of Behcet's disease is unknown, however. Experimental evidence suggests that TNF-α may play an important role in the pathogenesis of the disease. To date, case reports and small open-short term studies report the efficacy of anti-TNFα therapy (Infliximab and Etanercept), especially regarding ocular and mucocutaneous involvement in Behcet. There are no double blind long term studies on larger number of patients regarding the efficacy of anti-TNFα, especially Humira in healing arthritis +/- other manifestations of the disease.

NCT ID: NCT01496742 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

A Study of Onartuzumab (MetMAb) in Combination With Bevacizumab (Avastin) Plus Platinum And Paclitaxel or With Pemetrexed Plus Platinum in Patients With Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: April 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of RO5490258 (MetMab) in combination with either of two backbone chemotherapy regimens in the first-line setting in patients with incurable Stage IIIB or IV non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. In Cohort 1, patients will be randomized to receive 4 cycles of bevacizumab (Avastin) 15 mg/kg iv, paclitaxel 200 mg/m2 iv, platinum (cisplatin/carboplatin) iv plus either MetMab 15 mg/kg iv or placebo on Day 1 of each 21-day cycle. In Cohort 2, patients will be randomized to receive pemetrexed 500 mg/m2 iv, platinum (cisplatin/carboplatin) iv plus either MetMAb 15 mg/m2 iv or placebo on Day 1 of each 21-day cycle. Patients who have not progressed after 4 cycles will be offered maintenance therapy with their assigned treatment of bevacizumab plus either MetMAb or placebo (Cohort 1) or pemetrexed plus either MetMAb or placebo (Cohort 2). Anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs.

NCT ID: NCT01496560 Withdrawn - Pain Clinical Trials

Open Prospective Study for Determination of Predictive Measures for Pain During Colonoscopy

Start date: November 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The aim of the study is to determine what precolonoscopic measures can be correlated to pain during colonoscopy

NCT ID: NCT01496313 Active, not recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

To Compare The Effects Of Two Doses Of Vandetanib In Patients With Advanced Medullary Thyroid Cancer

Start date: August 28, 2012
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to give patients with medullary thyroid cancer either 300mg/day or 150mg/day vandetanib and compare how well each dose affects how their cancer responds. It will also help the investigators understand the side effects of different doses in these patients.

NCT ID: NCT01496274 Completed - Hemophilia B Clinical Trials

A Safety and Efficacy Study of a Recombinant Fusion Protein Linking Coagulation Factor IX With Albumin (rIX-FP) in Patients With Hemophilia B

Start date: February 2012
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will examine the safety, pharmacokinetics and efficacy of rIX-FP for the control and prevention of bleeding episodes in subjects who have previously received factor replacement therapy for hemophilia B.

NCT ID: NCT01496196 Recruiting - Hemoptisis Clinical Trials

The Role of Inhalations of Tranexamic Acid in Patients With Hemoptysis

Start date: January 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Hemoptysis is defined as the expectoration of blood from respiratory tract, a spectrum that varies from blood-streaking of sputum to coughing up large amounts of pure blood. Massive hemoptysis variably defined as the expectoration of 100-600 ml over 24-h period. The most common site of bleeding is the tracheobronchial tree, which can be affected by inflammation (acute or chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis) or by neoplasm ( bronchogenic carcinoma, endobronchial metastatic carcinoma, bronchial carcinoid tumor). The bronchial arteries, which originate either from aorta or from intercostal arteries, and are part of the high-pressure systemic circulation, are the source of bleeding in bronchitis or bronchiectasis or endo bronchial tumors.
