OctavaPink for Women With Dense Breast After Negative Mammography

The OctavaPink test is indicated as an adjunct to mammography for breast cancer screening in asymptomatic women for whom screening or diagnostic mammography findings are normal or benign (BIRADS assessment category 1 or 2) and breast tissue is dense (BIRADS composition/density 3 or 4). The device is intended to increase breast cancer detection in the described patient population. Based upon the result of OctavaPink, the patient will be further evaluated by their physician.

DMSO for Prevention of Capsular Contraction in Alloplastic Breast Reconstruction

Capsular contraction is the one of the most common complications of both esthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, with high incidence after radiotherapy. The mechanism of the contraction is unclear, but is believed to be similar to the formation of hypertrophic scarring. Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) has demonstrated its use as an anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative, and antibacterial agent. The aim of this study is to test the effect of DMSO on the incidence and severity if capsular contracture after breast alloplastic reconstruction in irradiated patients. We conduct a prospective randomized-control single-surgeon study in the tertiary academic Rabin Medical Center. 110 female candidates for mastectomy, radiotherapy and immediate two-stage reconstruction will be included. They will be divided into two groups: the DMSO treatment group, which will be treated according to our protocol, and the control group, that will be treated with the same protocol but with 0.9% saline instead. Several measures will be taken, including: capsular contracture grading by two plastic surgeons, a VAS-score of breast pain, maximal capsular thickness (MCT) in sonography evaluation, and pathology examination of the capsule (biopsy will be taken during the second stage operation). Rates and grades of capsular contracture evident clinically, radiologically and pathologically, will be evaluated and compared.

Identification of Corticomedullary Differentiation Along Different Stage of Pregnancy

Corticomedullary differentiation (CMD) abnormality (absent/reversed) is a parameter that can indicate possible nephropathy. The evolution of CMD across gestation had not been well established. Devrendt et al demonstrated the presence of CMD in all fetuses older then 20 weeks. In our study we would like to determine the exact timing of it's sonographic visualisation. This is a prospective study recruiting women between 14-24 week gestation during routine ultrasound screening. A midsagittal image of each kidney will be taken by a single sonographer and examined for the presence of the CMD by two other sonographers blinded to gestational age.

Although bladder exstrophy patients are born with normal kidneys, infectious and mechanical surgical complications can potentially damage their kidneys in the long-term. therefore we decided to evaluate renal function in the long-term in these patients.

Oxytocin and Dyadic Psychotherapy in the Treatment of Post Partum Depression

Rationale and Hypotheses of the Current Research: the investigators speculate that mothers suffering from PPD exhibit high levels of depression and low levels of OXT, hence experiencing the interaction with their child as less rewarding, which in turn promote further depressive symptoms and interfere with child development. While dyadic psychotherapy has been studied in this context, it is unknown which depressed women will respond to this type of therapy, and whether such a response is mediated by the pro-bonding effect of oxytocin. The aim of this study is three-fold: 1. To study the effect of the administration of a single dose (24IU) of oxytocin on cerebral circuit processing and connectivity of empathy and attachment. 2. To examine whether the clinical response of mothers suffering from postpartum depression to short term dyadic psychotherapy (based on improved mother-child interactions) can be predicted by a unique brain response pattern to oxytocin. 3. To assess the relationship between levels of oxytocin in mother and baby and the effectiveness of psychological dyadic treatment on mothers suffering from postpartum depression.

A positive ANCA test result in those patients who do not have a high probability for vasculitis requires extensive follow-up because those patients eventually present with malignancy or other inflammatory diseases. The investigators wish to investigate the correlation between the differing levels of positive ANCA tests and their relationship to vasculitis, malignancy and inflammatory diseases.

Breast Lesions Characterization on Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound With Histopathological Correlation

Breast lesions are a common condition, diagnosed by imaging and palpation. In order to reduce the number of biopsies performed to the definitive diagnosis of a breast lesion, an imaging method with a high degree of accuracy is needed. Ultrasound imaging with microbubbles contrast media allows the diagnosis of vascularization of the lesion, according to timing. Our hypothesis is that a highly vascularized lesion that enhances in an early timing is most likely to represent a malignant lesion and thus, deserves biopsy for a definitive diagnosis. Females over 18 years age, with a focal lesion in breast will be suitable to perform this examination.
