The purpose of the study is to compare two closed-loop strategies in terms of glycemic control in Type 1 Diabetes during a camp setting. The proposed study is a four-segment feasibility study. One segment is a proof of concept study (with two parts) conducted as in-patient clinic study ,the second segment is two-arms, cross-over, randomized and single-center and the third segment is four-arms, parallel, randomized and single-center, in diabetes camp study in subjects with type 1 diabetes on insulin pump therapy and the forth segment is a single arm feasibility in a diabetes camp setting followed by a 3 weeks period at home. Segment 1 will be divided into two parts: part 1 is a single arm pilot study aim to asses logistical and safety issues in 12 patients and part 2 is a randomized cross over study aim to evaluate glucose performance using closed-loop control. Part 2-is a randomized cross-over (two arms) in-patient study: A total of 12 patients will participate in this part of the study. Following the run-in period subjects will be randomized to participate in two periods of closed-loop treatment, each period will last 36 hours in hospital setting. During the first period, glycemic control will be controlled by the Hybrid closed-loop system and during the second period by Hybrid Logic closed-loop system. The sequence of treatment first period HCL therapy than AHCL or vice versa will be randomly assigned. Segment 2 is a randomized cross-over (two arms) Camp Study including up to 30 patients. Following the run-in period subjects will be randomized to participate in two periods of closed-loop treatment, each period will last 2days in a camp setting, the total duration of the camp will be up to 6 days. In one period, glycemic control will be controlled by the Hybrid closed-loop system and another period by Hybrid Logic closed-loop system. The sequence of treatment first period HCL therapy than AHCL or vice versa will be randomly assigned. Segment 3 is a randomized, parallel (four arm) Camp Study including up to 80 patients. Following the run-in period subjects will be randomized to participate in one of 4 intervention arms of closed-loop treatment in camp settings. The duration of the camp will be 12 days in which glycemic control will be controlled by one of 4 versions of closed-loop system: Hybrid Closed Loop (HCL) or one of 3 versions of Advanced Hybrid Closed Loop (AHCL). Segment 4 is a single arm, feasibility study in a diabetes camp setting followed by a three week period at home. After the completion of segments 1-3, the AHCL system will be optimized and a new version of the system will be created for use in segment 4. Up to 20 subjects will participate in this part of the study. Following a minimum of 5 days run-in period, subjects will be placed in a camp setting and closed loop will be initiated. Subjects will remain in closed loop for 5 days and will have 3 days of challenges, including missed meal bolus, late meal bolus and moderate-intensity exercise. At the conclusion of the camp, subjects will continue to use the system at home in Auto Mode for a period of 21 days.
The Libre- flash glucose monitoring system is an episodic real-time data on demand device. This means that patients can measure their glucose level when they choose by scanning the device, while at the same time a sensor automatically measures and continuously stores glucose readings day and night. Every scan shows the current glucose reading and the last 8 hours of glucose. There are no alarms and the system does not require calibration. In the present study we aim to evaluate treatment satisfaction and comfort using the Libre flash glucose monitoring system compared to conventional Self Measurement of Blood Glucose (SMBG) in adolescents with type 1 diabetes that discontinued using continuous glucose monitoring. The second aim of the study is to evaluate the rate of use and the impact of Libre use compared to Self-Measurement of Blood Glucose among adolescents who are sub-optimally controlled and stopped using Continuous Glucose Monitoring. The study is an investigator initiated study, single-center, randomized, parallel study of 12 weeks with an optional cross-over 12 weeks extension period .

This study evaluates the improvement of participation in everyday occupation among preschool children with mild developmental disabilities as a result of Occupational Therapy intervention.
Background: The Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment Program was designed to prevent mental deterioration and preserve cognitive abilities among people aged 60 and above. The program is an applied practicable program based on the theories of Structural Cognitive Modifiability as well as on a Mediated Learning Experience. The program takes into consideration the unique characteristics and requirements of the older population. The program is composed of a variety of cognitive tasks that offer systematic activities intended to stimulate mental and cognitive development. Objective: To examine the influence of the Feuerstein Program on the cognitive function and well-being of participants suffering from Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Hypothesis: The Feuerstein Program will improve cognitive abilities and functional well-being of the participants. Methods: Residents of retirement homes will be offered to participate in the research. Participants will undergo cognitive and functional assessments that will be carried out on four specific dates. The participants of the Intervention Group will participate in the Feuerstein program using a method of mediated learning while the Control Group will participate in a program of the Adler Institute involving activities aimed at social and emotional development without specific cognitive skill training.
Objectives: The objective of study was to evaluate the safety and the efficacy of EryDex (Dexamethasone sodium phosphate encapsulated in autologous erythrocytes, using the EryDex System - EDS) at two dose levels (low dose and high dose DSP/infusion), compared to placebo, on Neurological Symptoms in Patients With Ataxia Telangiectasia. Initial Double-Blind Treatment Period (0 to 6 Months) Primary Efficacy Objective: • Evaluate the effect of EryDex at two dose levels (low dose and high dose DSP/infusion), compared to placebo, on central nervous system (CNS) symptoms measured by the change in the Modified International Cooperative Ataxia Rating Scale (mICARS) from baseline to Month 6 (Visit 9) in patients with ataxia telangiectasia (A-T). Secondary Efficacy Objectives: - Evaluate the effect of EryDex, compared to placebo, on the Clinical Global Impression of Change (CGI-C) in patients with A-T from baseline to Month 6 (Visit 9). - Evaluate the effect of EryDex, compared to placebo, on measures of Clinical Global Impression of Severity (CGI-S; structured) in patients with A-T from baseline to Month 6 (Visit 9) - Evaluate the effect of EryDex, compared to placebo, on measures of Adaptive behavior measures in patients with A-T by the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales (VABS) from baseline to Month 6 (Visit 9). Safety Objectives: • Evaluate the safety and tolerability of two non-overlapping doses of EryDex, compared to placebo, in patients with A-T over the 12-month double-blind study duration. Extension Treatment Period (6-12 Months): Primary Objective: • Evaluate the efficacy of EryDex at two dose levels (low dose and high dose DSP/infusion) compared to placebo, in treating CNS symptoms in A-T patients during longer-term treatment (up to 12 months), as measured by the mICARS. Secondary Objectives: - Evaluate the longer-term (up to 12 months) safety and tolerability of EryDex in A-T patients. - Compare the effects of EryDex on the CGI-C and CGI-S (structured), VABS, and QoL using the EQ-5D-5L scale.
Throughout the history, the neonate was dependent on maternal touch and care for survival. In modern obstetrics, with hospital care the neonates are seldom separated from their mothers after delivery. Early skin to skin (ESTS) contact after delivery was found to increase milk production, lactation and improve maternal and neonatal outcome. Oxytocin is the primary hormone responsible for uterine contraction and prevention of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). ESTS contact increases oxytocin secretion. The rate of cesarean deliveries (CDs) increased dramatically over the past decades. CD was found to decrease postpartum milk production, postpones early lactation and decreases exclusive breastfeeding. During the typical CD, the neonate is usually presented for a short while to the mother and breastfeeding is usually delayed at least a number of hours until after the surgery and the recovery period. Natural CD, enable ESTS contact during the surgery and give the mother the opportunity to start breastfeeding immediately after delivery of the neonate in the surgery suit. Oxytocin secretion increases with ESTS and during breastfeeding. The aim of this study is to examine blood loss that occurs after Natural CD compared to standard CD without an ESTS contact.
To investigate the incidence of detected hypothyroidism after iodinated contrast exposure in pediatric patients from birth to 3 years of age (inclusive) in a routine clinical practice setting.
To evaluate safety and tolerability of lambda over a 48-week treatment period in HDV patients.
This will be a feasibility study. Individuals that have undergone an evaluation day at the center for successful aging with diabetes with a Glycosylated hemoglobin (A1C) of >=7.5 and a Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)<26 will be approached and invited to participate. The participants will be divided into 2 groups: 1) information communication technology (ICT) group - an intervention based on weekly SMS that will remind the individual to implement his personal treatment plan and will raise the awareness to the importance of self-care in diabetes; 2) intensive cognitive-physical rehabilitation group that will include a 2 phase multi-disciplinary intervention. The 2 phases: a) Intensive phase: weekly 4 hour group meeting which will include computerized cognitive training, aerobic, balance and strength exercise and group discussion that will be dedicated to cognitive rehabilitation strategies development and implementation with emphasis on disease management and physical activity as well as psycho-education on various disease management aspects (medical and nutritional) b) a consolidation phase: monthly 2 hour group discussions on challenges of implementation and coping strategies. Outcomes will include change in A1C (primary), change in strength, aerobic capacity as well as quality of life and cognitive function (secondary). Additionally, team members and participants will fill out a structured questionnaire regarding their evaluation of the program aiming at refinement of the intervention.
