This study is being conducted to see if adding GW679769 (casopitant) to ZOFRAN will significantly decrease the number of patients who experience nausea and vomiting after surgery.

NCT ID: NCT00325442 Completed - Clinical trials for Pulmonary Hypertension

FREEDOM-C: Oral Treprostinil in Combination With an Endothelin Receptor Antagonist (ERA) and/or a Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) Inhibitor for the Treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)

Start date: October 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study was an international, multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in subjects with PAH who were currently receiving approved therapy for their PAH (i.e., endothelin receptor antagonist and/or phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor). Study visits occurred at 4 week intervals for 16 weeks; the key measure of efficacy was the 6-minute walk test. Study procedures included routine blood tests, medical history, physical exams, disease evaluation, and exercise tests. One optional substudy was also a part of FREEDOM-C at select centers - a hemodynamic substudy with a right heart catheterization at Baseline and Week 16. Patients who completed all assessments for 16-weeks were also eligible to enter an open-label, extension phase study (FREEDOM - EXT).

NCT ID: NCT00324805 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage IIIA Lung Non-Small Cell Cancer AJCC v7

Chemotherapy With or Without Bevacizumab in Treating Patients With Stage IB, Stage II, or Stage IIIA Non-small Cell Lung Cancer That Was Removed By Surgery

Start date: June 1, 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This randomized phase III trial studies chemotherapy and bevacizumab to see how well they work compared to chemotherapy alone in treating patients with stage IB, stage II, or stage IIIA non-small cell lung cancer that was removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Bevacizumab also may stop the growth of non-small cell lung cancer by blocking the growth of new blood vessels necessary for tumor growth. It is not yet known whether chemotherapy is more effective with or without bevacizumab in treating non-small cell lung cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00324155 Completed - Melanoma Clinical Trials

Dacarbazine and Ipilimumab vs. Dacarbazine With Placebo in Untreated Unresectable Stage III or IV Melanoma

Start date: August 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical research study is to examine the safety and effectiveness (how well the drug works) of two different treatments for patients with melanoma. One treatment is an investigational compound (a drug that is not currently approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration [FDA]), know as Ipilimumab (also known as MDX-010 or BMS-734016) together with an approved chemotherapy drug called Dacarbazine

NCT ID: NCT00322218 Terminated - Clinical trials for Lymphoma, Large Cell, Diffuse

Study Comparing Zevalin Regimen With no Further Treatment in Patients With Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma.

Start date: May 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study treats patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma whose disease is in complete remission due to previous treatment with Cyclophosphamide Doxorubicin hydrochloride Vincristine Prednisolone- Rituximab (CHOP-R). Half of the patients received Zevalin and the other half receive no further anti-cancer treatment. The two patient groups compared to determine if Zevalin given after CHOP-R therapy provides greater benefits than receiving no additional anti-cancer therapy after CHOP-R.

NCT ID: NCT00321919 Completed - Anemia Clinical Trials

A Study of Treatment With NeoRecormon (Epoetin Beta) in Patients With Chronic Renal Anemia

Start date: July 2000
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate whether anemia prevention with NeoRecormon has an additional impact on reducing cardiovascular risk over conventional anemia treatment in patients mostly with stage IV chronic kidney disease and renal anemia. The anticipated time on study treatment is 2+ years and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00318461 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

To Compare the Effect of Liraglutide When Given Together With Metformin With the Effect of Metformin Given Alone and With the Effect of Glimepiride and Metformin Given Together

LEAD-2

Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Europe, Oceania, Africa, Asia and South America. This trial is designed to show the effect of treatment with liraglutide when adding to existing metformin therapy and to compare it with the effects of metformin monotherapy and combination therapy of metformin and glimepiride. Two trial periods: A 6 month (26 weeks) randomised, double-blinded period followed by an 18 months open-label extension, in total 2 years (104 weeks).

NCT ID: NCT00317408 Active, not recruiting - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Combination Chemotherapy Followed By Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Young Patients With Progressive or Relapsed Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma

Start date: April 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Giving combination chemotherapy and total-body irradiation before a peripheral stem cell transplant that uses the patient's or a donor's stem cells, helps stop both the growth of cancer cells and the patient's immune system from rejecting the stem cells. When the stem cells are infused into the patient they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Giving combination chemotherapy and total-body irradiation followed by a stem cell transplant may be an effective treatment for anaplastic large cell lymphoma. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy followed by stem cell transplant works in treating young patients with progressive or relapsed anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
