There are about 1183 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Indonesia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
double blinded RCT (probiotics vs placebo) given to pediatric patients with chronic cholestasis for 4 weeks duration. baseline characteristics (antropometry, gastrointestinal symptoms, laboratory examinations) would be compared pre vs post treatment
Cardiac arrest causes the heart to stop functioning to maintain circulation that provides oxygen to the brain. The global incidence of cardiac arrest is 50 to 60 per 100,000 people per year. The incidence of cardiac arrest in Indonesia in 2016 was 350,000 cases, in which 12% were successfully resuscitated, compared to the global success rate of 24.8%. Cardiac arrest events urgently require CPR action that is useful to save lives in an emergency. The application of Code Blue aims to reduce the mortality rate and increase the rate of return of spontaneous circulation. The Code Blue team itself includes a set of teams who are trained in the handling of cardiorespiratory arrest.
This study aimed to compare continous intravenous lidocaine infusion and placebo on the effect to brain relaxation, opioid consumption and postoperative cognitive status in adult patient undergoing craniotomy tumor removal surgery
A case of high-voltage pediatric electrical burn involving a fully conscious 13-year old boy who was admitted to the emergency room after being electrocuted by high-voltage power cable, with superficial partial thickness burn over right arm, trunk, and left leg (26% of total body surface area) with cardiac abnormality e.g. tachycardia and non-specific ST depression. Treatments were based on Australian New Zealand Burns Association algorithm with several modifications, i.e. administering lower concentration of oxygen with nasal cannula instead of non-rebreathing mask and intravenous Ketorolac and Metamizole as analgesic instead of morphine due to limitation in infrastructure and knowledge. The patient underwent surgical debridement and strict observation with no signs of abnormality found during hospital stay. Wound dressing consisted of silver sulfadiazine, Sofra-tulle® and dry sterile gauze were used until epithelialization. After the wound healed, the patient resumed wearing elastic bandage and moisturizer on the wound area. The patient was observed daily through 7 days of hospitalization and followed-up for 1 year, achieving normal physiologic function of the affected area but unsatisfactory esthetic result. This case report showed that there is still a lack of burn prevention programs in the rural area, resulted in inadequate first aid application for electrical burn. There is a need for acknowledging and maximizing the implementation of available standardized guidelines e.g. Australian New Zealand Burns Association by giving homogenized training to personnel as well as providing feasible equipment, and then followed by strict monitoring for the patient. The focus of the burn program should also include burn rehabilitation, psychosocial needs and any complaints needing expert opinion in an outpatient setting in addition to adequate burn management for life saving and good wound healing.
A randomized control trial to test the effectiveness of childbirth education programs on maternal anxiety, maternal-fetal attachment, childbirth self-efficacy, and marital satisfaction based on Roy Adaptation Model. The modified childbirth education class as the experimental group was set up by PI following health authority guidelines in Indonesia. the measurement variable outcomes in the experimental group were compared to the control group after 4 weeks of intervention. statistical analysis applied to compare demographic characteristics between two groups as well as to compare the mean score of the variable between two groups.
In this randomized controlled trial (RCT), severe cases of COVID-19 infection will be treated with secretome of hypoxia-mesenchymal stem cells. The improvement in clinical, laboratory, and radiological manifestations will be evaluated in treated patients compared with the control group.
The study was a prospective observational analysis of cases with complete ACL tears. A study was conducted between February 2021 to December 2024. All the patients attending those hospitals' emergency or outpatient departments (OPD) with knee injuries were evaluated for an ACL tear. Patients who meet inclusion criteria and consent to participate in the study will be observed for two years. Patients in Arifin Achmad Hospital Pekanbaru will follow rehabilitation treatment and optional delayed reconstruction after 12 weeks if needed, while patients in some hospitals in Jakarta and Bandung (Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Hasan Sadikin Hospital) will perform early reconstruction treatment. After receiving informed consent, all subjects received a self-administered patient questionnaire containing the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score, EQ5D3L, and Tegner Activity Level (TAL) scores. These questionnaires will be measured at 0, 12, 24, 48, and 96 weeks. Clinical value of the Lachman test and pivot shift test will be performed. One independent orthopedic surgeon will keep all records and evaluate the results. All costs for the treatment will be accounted for.
Vi-DT Typhoid vaccine is a novel vaccine. This study will be done to know the long-term protection and persistent antibody by measured the antibody titer after 2,3,4 and 5 years after immunization.
The concept personalized gene-based nutrition combines genetic information with specific dietary intake that is crucial in managing obesity. Obesity experienced by adult women is generally caused by inapproriate diet and sedentary lifestyle. Variations in the fat mass and obesity-related gene (FTO) has been linked with susceptibility to obesity, but diet seems to change the relationship. A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the fat mass and obesity-associated gene (FTO) is a potent predictor of human obesity. Higher protein diets were more appropriate than standard protein diets, and frequently recommended as a weight loss plan as it prevents the loss of lean tissue mass. Nevertheless, high intakes of proteins may adversely affect metabolic functions. Multi studies have explored associated FTO polymorphisms with obesity in different populations. However, the contribution of the FTO common variants to obesity is controversial in Asian people, some studies showed rs1558902 was statistically associated with BMI, but other results reported FTO gene is not statistically associated with obesity. Given the diversity of Asian populations, the investigators generated a hypothesis whether relations between preference protein intake and FTO rs1558902 gene polymorphism exist in selected Indonesian obesity women
Myocardial infarction (MI), as one of the many complications of COVID-19, is one of the contributing patients of patients' death. This study attempts on developing an intervention of MI by regenerating damaged cardiomyocytes due to insufficiency of oxygen in cardiac muscles, triggered by an occlusion of coronary artery (MI). Heart patch developed from amnion bilayer seeded with amnion epithelial stem cells and patient's autologous cardiomyocytes is used as a therapy. Patients who undergo bypass (CABG) surgery are given heart patch, and then patients condition are observed by ECG, Echo, blood test, and radiology (technetium-99m)
