NCT ID: NCT02856984 Completed - Clinical trials for Zika Virus Disease (Disorder)

Zika in Infants and Pregnancy (ZIP)

Start date: June 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The overall objective of this multisite, multicountry Zika in Infants and Pregnancy (ZIP) study is to assess the strength of the association between Zika virus infection (ZIKV) during pregnancy and adverse maternal/fetal outcomes and the risk of vertical transmission. The study will prospectively enroll a cohort of pregnant women up to 17 weeks and 6 days gestation and subjects at any gestational age with acute Zika infection, confirmed by serology or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test. The study will follow these women through their pregnancy to identify for clinical evidence of acute ZIKV, while controlling for potential confounders. Outcomes in the women, the developing fetus, and infants will be assessed. All protocol-specified data will be recorded and entered in a central data management system for the purposes of analysis of composite data from the study.

Study type: Interventional

Demonstrate superiority of secukinumab over ustekinumab in treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.

NCT ID: NCT02814916 Completed - Clinical trials for Bacterial Infections

Dalbavancin for the Treatment of Acute Bacterial Skin and Skin Structure Infections in Children, Known or Suspected to be Caused by Susceptible Gram-positive Organisms, Including MRSA

Start date: March 31, 2017
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To determine the safety and descriptive efficacy of dalbavancin for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections in children, aged birth to 17 years (inclusive), known or suspected to be caused by susceptible Gram-positive organisms, including methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus.

NCT ID: NCT02812914 Completed - Premature Birth Clinical Trials

NACER II: Reducing Prenatal Exposures to Household Air Pollution in Rural Guatemala Through a Gas Stove/Behavior Intervention to Improve Neonatal Health

Start date: April 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Greater efforts are needed to bring affordable, clean stoves and adaptive behavioral strategies to the millions of households worldwide that continue to burn solid cooking fuels using inefficient stoves. Two of the leading causes of infant mortality, preterm birth and pneumonia, are associated with high exposures to household air pollution during pregnancy and early infancy. The proposed study will assess the feasibility and acceptability of an introduced liquid petroleum gas stove, complemented by two alternative approaches to delivering tailored behavioral change interventions, among pregnant women and their neonates.

NCT ID: NCT02798471 Completed - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

Hokusai Study in Pediatric Patients With Confirmed Venous Thromboembolism (VTE)

Start date: March 27, 2017
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is an event driven Phase 3, prospective, randomized, open-label, blinded endpoint evaluation (PROBE) parallel group study in subjects with confirmed VTE. This study is designed to evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of edoxaban and to compare the efficacy and safety of edoxaban against standard of care in pediatric subjects with confirmed VTE.

NCT ID: NCT02788214 Terminated - Gastric Cancer Clinical Trials

Helicobacter Pylori Genome Project (HpGP)

Start date: July 27, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Helicobacter pylori is a common bacterial infection. It can lead to severe stomach problems, including stomach cancer. Researchers want to look at samples of the bacteria. These H. pylori strains will be taken from chronically infected people. They want to identify the genetic and epigenetic differences in H. pylori strains. This could help predict which people who get infected with the bacteria will get stomach cancer. This could lead to the cancer being detected earlier. It could also mean less people get stomach cancer. Objectives: To study genetic variations of H. pylori strains based on samples from chronically infected people. To identify the features of strains that might lead to severe stomach problems or stomach cancer. Eligibility: People ages 30-70 years who need an upper endoscopy or who were recently diagnosed with stomach cancer Design: Participants will be screened by the doctor who does their procedure and a study nurse. Participants who have endoscopy will have ~6 biopsies removed. These are tissue samples. They are about the size of a grain of rice. Participants will allow the study team to access reports from their stomach exam. Participants with stomach cancer will donate some of the tissue that will be removed during their clinical care. They will allow the study team to access reports of their surgery. They will also allow them to access the microscope slides of their stomach.

NCT ID: NCT02786186 Active, not recruiting - Psoriasis Clinical Trials

A Registry of Patients With Moderate to Severe Plaque Psoriasis

PURE
Start date: December 23, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The main purpose of the current study will be to provide real - world evidence regarding the safety and effectiveness of secukinumab in the management of patients with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis.

NCT ID: NCT02721641 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

A Continuation Study of Trastuzumab (Herceptin) in Participants With Metastatic or Locally Advanced Cancer
