There are about 4372 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Greece. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the mavacamten impact on myocardial structure with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) in adult participants with symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM) [New York Heart Association (NYHA) Functional Class II or III].
The primary aim of this randomized control trial is to investigate patients' with anterior knee pain if a neuromuscular training program (NMT) has better results in pain and functionality, than an ordinary progressive resistance training program (PRT). Pain will be measured via a visual analog scale for pain (VAS) and functionality via questionnaires such as Kujala and the Greek version of the Modified Baecke Questionnaire (mBQ) and functional tests such as the Anterior Lunge test, Step up/down, squat, balance and reach test. The secondary aims are to investigate the: 1. Hip and knee muscles strength, which will be measured with the Kinvent K-Push dynamometer. Strength will be measured before and after the rehabilitation programs (at baseline and after 8 weeks of intervention). 2. Balance, will also be measured to see the effects of the NMT program. 3. Kinesiophobia, which will be measured with the Tampa Scale 4. Dynamic Knee Valgus, via the Single Leg Landing and Single Leg Squat tests
Background: The vestibular system plays a crucial role in maintaining balance. Deficiencies in this system can result in instability and an increased risk of falls in older adults, posing a significant global health concern due to associated injuries. The Cawthorne and Cooksey program has demonstrated effectiveness in enhancing balance and reducing falls. This study aims to investigate the program's impact on balance, fear of falling, and dizziness in individuals aged 65 and older. Thirty-two older adults will be assigned to intervention and control groups. The intervention group will undergo a video-supported Cawthorne and Cooksey-based therapy, while the control group will receive counseling on fall prevention and healthy living through leaflets. The 4-week intervention will take place three times a week, including one face-to-face session and one via video. Pre- and post-assessments, along with a one-month follow-up, will be conducted.
This is a 12-week prospective, multicentre, randomised Phase 4 study to evaluate the effect of a wild type strain of Lacticaseibacillus in cholesterol of blood levels.
Purpose: Neo-angiogenesis is necessary for adhesion and invasiveness of endometriotic lesions in women affected by endometriosis. VEGF is one of the major components of angiogenesis and is part of the major pathway TF-PAR-2-VEGF that leads to neo-angiogenesis. SP1 is a transcriptional factor that has lately been studied for its crucial role in angiogenesis, via a distinct pathway. We hypothesize that by blocking angiogenetic pathways we can repress endometriotic lesions. GnRH-agonists are routinely used, especially pre-operatively, in endometriosis. It would be interesting to clarify which angiogenetic pathways are affected and pave the way for further research over anti-angiogenetic effects on endometriosis. Methods: We used qRT-PCR to study mRNA expression levels of TF, PAR-2, VEGF and SP1 in endometriotic tissues of women who underwent surgery for endometriosis and received GnRH-a [leuprolide acetate] preoperatively.
The aim of this study is to investigate the hypothesis that the intraoperative use of the nociception level index NOL can reduce opioid consumption in adult patients undergoing elective laparoscopic surgeries under general anesthesia, as well as to explore its effect on post-operative pain and patient recovery.
A randomized, triple-blinded, placebo-controlled, parallel group study, to assess the effect of multistrain probiotic on the immune response to the Influenza vaccination
A patient with oncological pathology of any type because of impaired digestion and nutrient absorption, decreased intake, and increased nutrition requirements has an increased risk of malnutrition and moderate to severe weight loss.In the present study the investigators will evaluate the impact of perioperative immunonutrition supplementation on the postoperative outcomes.
The purpose of this study is to assess the patient's preference for nivolumab subcutaneous (SC) or nivolumab + relatlimab fixed-dose combination (FDC) SC and provide patient experience data by route of administration. This study will also generate safety data which will further characterize the safety profile of patients switching the route of administration from intravenous (IV) to SC.
A randomized, double-blind, dose-ranging, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of bexotegrast (PLN-74809) for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (BEACON-IPF).
