STAKT
Start date: January 2014
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To compare the effect of four and a half days treatment of a range of doses of AZD5363 on selected markers of the AKT pathway and anti-proliferation compared with placebo in oestrogen receptor positive breast cancers. To assess the tolerability of four and a half days treatment of AZD5363.

NCT ID: NCT02077192 Completed - Clinical trials for Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura

Open Label Study of R788 in the Treatment of Persistent/Chronic Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP)

Start date: October 2014
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study was to assess the long term safety of fostamatinib in subjects with persistent/chronic ITP

NCT ID: NCT02077166 Completed - Clinical trials for Refractory Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

Start date: March 13, 2014
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This Phase 1b/2 study is designed to assess the safety and efficacy of ibrutinib in combination with lenalidomide and rituximab in subjects with relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) not eligible for transplant.

NCT ID: NCT02077023 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

An Observational Study of Natural History of Cardiovascular Diseases

Start date: February 2014
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of the study is to estimate the contemporary prevalence of cardiovascular diseases in the United Kingdom (UK) and to describe the incidence and prevalence of stroke, mini stroke (TIA), Heart Attack (MI), deaths and interventions repairs for carotids and occlusive arterial disease in a large population. This study will also allow us to obtain reliable information on the age- and sex-specific relevance of tobacco and alcohol consumption, obesity, diabetes and blood pressure as risk factors for different cardiovascular diseases. By following up a large group of participants for 5 years, we will be able to estimate the annual risk of stroke and other CVD events associated with asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis and atrial fibrillation.

NCT ID: NCT02076399 Completed - Clinical trials for Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura

A Efficacy and Safety Study of R935788 in the Treatment of Persistent/Chronic Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP)

FIT
Start date: July 14, 2014
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether fostamatinib is safe and effective in the treatment of persistent/chronic Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).

NCT ID: NCT02075905 Completed - Barrett's Esophagus Clinical Trials

Stratifying Risk in Barrett's Esophagus: A Pilot Study for Biomarker-based Patient Management

Start date: March 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Subjects enrolled in this study will have biopsies obtained and sent to Dr. Fitzgerald's lab for analysis of a validated biomarker panel. Subjects will be stratified to either high or low risk of progression to esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) based on biomarker panel results. Biomarker panel results will not be communicated to sites. Subjects with low grade dysplasia will be offered the option of treatment (radiofrequency ablation (RFA)) as part of routine care. Subjects with low grade dysplasia who do not want RFA and subjects with no dysplasia will receive surveillance endoscopy in 1 year per routine care. All subjects will be administered a questionnaire seeking information about hypothetical willingness to be randomized to treatment or surveillance.

NCT ID: NCT02075606 Completed - Clinical trials for NeuroEndocrine Tumours

Circulating Tumour Cells in Somatuline Autogel Treated NeuroEndocrine Tumours Patients

CALM-NET
Start date: May 2014
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Circulating tumour cells (CTCs) are detectable in the blood in around 50% of patients with functioning NeuroEndocrine Tumours (NET) arising in the midgut area (tumours which are secreting hormones and are located in the area in the middle of the digestive system) and their presence usually means that the prognosis for the patient is poor. CTCs have also been shown to be valuable as predictive markers following treatment and there is increasing interest in using CTCs as 'liquid biopsies' that can help to inform treatment decisions. CTC analysis has the benefit of being relatively non- invasive and quick compared with a conventional CT scan and is therefore an attractive method of monitoring the tumour throughout the treatment period. The purpose of this study is to assess the clinical value that enumeration will have in predicting the clinical symptomatic response and progression free survival in patients receiving Somatuline Autogel for functioning midgut NETs over a one year period.

NCT ID: NCT02075541 Completed - Clinical trials for Respiratory Disorders

A Study to Evaluate the Safety, Reactogenicity and Immunogenicity of GlaxoSmithkline (GSK) Biologicals' Investigational Vaccine GSK2838504A When Administered to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Patients With Persistent Airflow Obstruction.

Start date: July 8, 2014
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this Phase II study is to assess the safety, reactogenicity and immunogenicity of the investigational Non-typeable Haemophilus influenzae (NTHi) vaccine in patients with moderate and severe persistent airflow obstruction.

NCT ID: NCT02075450 Completed - Cardiac Arrest Clinical Trials

Improving the Quality of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) During Pediatric Cardiac Arrest

QCPR
Start date: July 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Our project aims to improve the delivery and assessment of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during pediatric cardiac arrest by introducing 2 novel approaches: 1. We will evaluate the effectiveness of a novel, credit card sized, and highly affordable "nano-card" CPR visual feedback device to improve compliance with HSFC CPR guidelines when used during simulated pediatric cardiac arrest; 2. We will also develop and study a novel, "Just-in-Time" (JIT) CPR training video, integrating proven educational methods (video-based lecture, expert modeling, practice-while-watching), and use the CPR visual feedback device to provide real-time coaching. We hypothesize that: H1: The use of a CPR visual feedback device will improve compliance with current HSFC CPR and resuscitation guidelines during a simulated pediatric in-hospital cardiac arrest scenario compared with standard CPR with no visual feedback. H2: A JIT CPR Training Video, viewed by healthcare providers 2-4 weeks prior to the resuscitation event, will improve compliance with current HSFC CPR and resuscitation guidelines during simulated pediatric cardiac arrest compared with those healthcare providers with no prior exposure to the JIT CPR Training Video. H3: That there is poor correlation between providers' perception of CPR quality and actual measured CPR quality H4: That task load varies depending on provider role and type of clinical scenario
