There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The objective of this study is to collect the evolution of blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients under different conditions of their daily life: physical activity, meals, sleep, etc. This data will be used to develop a test bench to evaluate insulin delivery algorithms to treat patients with insulin-resistant T2D using a closed loop.
To date, no treatment has demonstrated clinical efficacy on COVID 19. However, several therapeutic strategies are being considered and are being evaluated in numerous clinical trials. Among these strategies, the use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) seems promising. There is very little information on how to precisely administer hydroxychloroquine to patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 in intensive care, which may be responsible for side effects, some of which are potentially serious. In addition, this treatment has a long half-life which increases the risk of accumulation and therefore toxicity. In view of the lack of knowledge on the pharmacokinetic / pharmacodynamic properties of hydroxychloroquine in intensive care patients infected with SARS-CoV-2, we propose to perform a prospective multicenter cohort study in order to collect the biological data necessary for this evaluation.
Crying is a survival mechanism for babies and their almost exclusive means of expression until the age of 4 months. Babies 'cry is mostly related to pain, a feeling of hunger, discomfort or separation following the departure of a parent around. Crying is a complex but essential means of communication and information between a baby and his parents that raises the question of their meaning. Very few longitudinal studies have been produced on preterm's crying. As the term approaches, the characteristics of preterm babies' crying are similar to those of term infants. But these studies date back more than 30 years and are obsolete in terms of the quality and performance of sound recording equipment and signal processing. No study has looked at the genesis of the cry itself and the varieties of the cry of the preterm baby, depending on whether it was in a situation of hunger, pain, discomfort (bath).
Monocentric prospective non-randomized observational study with subgroup analysis on the assessment of the day hospital at the Aging Biennial Hospital of Saint-Etienne.
Upper limb amputees often report musculoskeletal pain due to exaggerated shoulder abduction movements. Previous studies on prosthetic hands showed that wrist orientation contributes to reduce shoulder compensatory movements. The hypothesis of this research is that prosthetic hooks may also provide better functional outcomes when offering wrist adjustments and a design that favors a good visualization of the grips. The objective of this study is to compare shoulder abduction, manual dexterity and satisfaction when using Axon-Hook and Greifer myoelectric hooks during repetitive tasks. Shoulder abduction and manual dexterity results are also compared with the sound side.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate MEDI5752 in combination with Lenvatinib (or Axitinib), in subjects with advanced renal cell carcinoma.
COVID-19 is a worldwide pandemic. Around 5% of infected patients are admitted in ICU, mainly for respiratory failure. Outcome of these patients is linked to other organ failures. Optimal therapies are not defined so far. The sponsor want to assess the role of MR-ProADM as prognostic biomarker, and the impact of treatments (including supportive treatments) on MOF occurrence and outcome.
Clinical diagnosis of adnexal torsion is difficult because the symptomatology is dominated by abrupt onset pelvic pain, an aspecific sign which does not allow a diagnosis of certainty to be made. To confirm the diagnosis, the reference examination is pelvic ultrasound with Doppler flow analysis. However, its intake is low, its sensitivity varies from 46 to 73% depending on the studies. Other imaging techniques have been considered, such as MRI, with a sensitivity far superior to ultrasound, but its difficult accessibility, in particular in the context of an emergency, makes it unusable in clinical practice. The use of ultrasound with the injection of an ultrasound contrast agent, strict intravascular, seems to be an interesting technique to assess the perfusion parameters of the ovary and improve the diagnostic sensitivity of the adnexal torsion. Its interest has already been demonstrated in the diagnosis of testicular torsion in animals but to date, no study has evaluated its contribution in adnexal torsion.
Dumping syndrome (DS) is frequent in oesophageal atresia (29%). In causing hypoglycaemia, it can be dangerous for neonates. Mechanisms of DS are actually partialy understood. This is also an affection difficult to diagnose, because it only occurs after meals and can be inconstantly present. To date, their is only symptomatic treatment for DS. This study aims to understand its pathological mechanisms so as to better treat it and avoid its consequences. Oesophageal atresia patients enrolled in this study will benefit from a continuous glycemic monitoring, a continuous cardiac monitoring, and an a gastric emptying scintigraphy at the age of 3 months
Morphine is used in the treatment of dyspnea and polypnea with a proven benefit on the improvement of these symptoms, both etiologically and symptomatically. This medication is used in particular in palliative care for this type of symptom. The Sars CoV2 viral pneumonia table can lead to respiratory distress. In patients with moderate to severe impairment without goal of resuscitation (level of care 3 and 4), the introduction of morphine may sometimes be necessary to relieve respiratory symptoms. These also lead to major exhaustion which can worsen the clinical picture. However, the prescription of morphine is not systematic in front of a respiratory distress table. The investigators hypothesized that early treatment with morphine lead to a better management of dyspnea, quality of live and survival in COVID-19 positive participants patients when there is not resuscitation objective management (level of care 3 and 4). The objective is to measure the efficacy of morphine in the early management of dyspnea, quality of life and survival in COVID-19 positive participants patients treated in the Hospices Civils of Lyon during COVID-19 pandemic.
