Since ancient times, physical and sports activity has been recognized as bringing many health benefits. Descriptive and interventional studies on physical activity are developing, demonstrating physical and psychological benefits for patients with various diseases. Physical activity is effective in improving self-esteem in the general population. Good self-esteem allows for better autonomy to manage a chronic illness. The benefit of physical activity in patients living with HIV has been the subject of several studies, notably outside France, and seems to improve the quality of life. We hypothesize that sport, especially karate kata, could improve self-esteem in patients living with HIV, and represent another non-drug aid, in patients living with HIV.
The investigator wish to provide a blend of two essential oils with comparable antiemetic properties; Peppermint essential oil (Mentha x Piperita) and lemon tree essential oil (Citrus Limon). Dry inhalation of these essential oils is safe, but effectiveness has not been determined. Studies on the subject present a questionable methodology. This is why we are proposing this study to measure the effectiveness of this mixture of essential oils on chemo-induced nausea and vomiting. This study is a first step before a possible study to compare the effects of essential oils with those of a placebo.

Anxious school refusal (ASR) is a common disorder which concerns more and more adolescents who are at worse completely absent from school. A specific ambulatory cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) program has been established to gradually reintegrate the child back into the school environment with a multidisciplinary team. Alongside school reintegration assessment, the child's overall ability to function and anxiety levels will be measured before and after the program with additional assessments made after a further 6 and 12 months have elapsed.
This is a prospective, open-label, multi-center, single-arm study to be conducted at up to 20 investigational sites. The Study plans to enroll up to 140 subjects with severe emphysema and collateral ventilation in the target lobe. This protocol is designed to evaluate the utility of the AeriSeal System to occlude collateral air channels in a target lung lobe with collateral ventilation (CV) and convert the target lung lobe to having little to no collateral ventilation. Subjects can then receive Zephyr Valves to achieve atelectasis in the targeted lobe, once AeriSeal has converted the CV+ lobe to a CV- one. Therefore, the study will have two Stages: • Stage 1 will address the closure of the lobar fissure gaps (or collateral air channels) to block collateral ventilation (CV) with the AeriSeal System; conversion of the CV+ target lobe to CV-. Conversion of collateral ventilation will be evaluated by Chartis after 45 days. In the case of unsuccessful conversion, a second treatment of AeriSeal may be attempted, provided that the total application volume from both the initial and the repeat treatments does not exceed 40 mL in up to three (3) segments. Clinical Assessments post-AeriSeal will be conducted at 28 and 45 days after first treatment and repeated after the second treatment, if applicable. For the purpose of protocol follow-up, the Day 45 post-AeriSeal final treatment will equal Day 0 for Stage 2. • Stage 2 will include successfully converted subjects; CV+ to CV- conversion in Stage 1. Converted CV- target lobes will follow standard of care and receive CE marked Zephyr Endobronchial valves per the Zephyr IFU to perform bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR). Clinical assessments will be conducted at 45 Days, 3-months, 6-months, and 12-months post-Zephyr Valve procedure.
Few studies are specifically designed to address health concerns that are already relevant during pregnancy. The consequence is a lack of evidence on best clinical practice. This includes mothers and their babies when pregnancy is complicated by an abnormally slow heart rate due to maternal antibody-mediated heart disease in the unborn baby (fetus). Since the late seventies, it has been possible to detect and monitor fetal disease by ultrasound images and to treat selected conditions with pharmaceuticals administered via the mother. To this day, physicians need to make decisions about the management of such pregnancies without evidence from prospective clinical trials on drug efficacy and safety. The SLOW HEART REGISTRY is a multi-centered prospective observational study that will address the knowledge gap to guide future management of high-degree immune-mediated heart block to the best of care. The study seeks to establish an international database of the management and outcome of affected fetuses, to be used to publish information on the results of currently available prenatal care and to evaluate the need for additional research.
During general anesthesia, intraoperative hypotension (IOH) is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Mean arterial pressure (MAP) < 65mmHg is the most common definition of hypotension. In order to reduce IOH, a complex method using machine learning called hypotensive prediction index (HPI) was shown to be superior to changes in MAP (ΔMAP) to predict hypotension (MAP between 65 and 75 excluded). Linear extrapolation of MAP (LepMAP) is also very simple and could be a better approach than ΔMAP. The main objective of the present study was to investigate whether LepMAP could predict IOH during anesthesia 1, 2 or 5 minutes before.

The purpose of this Phase 3 study in PNH patients presenting with residual anemia despite treatment with anti-C5 antibody, was to determine whether iptacopan is efficacious and safe for the treatment of PNH through demonstration of superiority of iptacopan compared to anti-C5 antibody treatment.
Bronchial remodeling is an abnormal tissue repair process of the bronchial wall components that characterizes severe asthma which can include epithelial abrasion, thickening of the reticular basement membrane (RBM), an increase in bronchial fibrosis, blood vessel count, mucosal gland mass and/or bronchial smooth muscle (BSM) mass. We identified using latent class analysis two classes of patients. Compared to the second class, the first class was characterized by an increase in RBM thickness, blood vessel count, BSM mass and a decrease in RBM-BSM distance, mucus gland mass and bronchial fibrosis. We then hypothesized that this first latent class identified children at risk of asthma exacerbations.
