Sleep Study in Adult Patients With Major Sickle Cell Disease With Paroxysmal Nocturnal Events

Hypothesis is that the occurrence of nocturnal Vaso-Occlusive Crisis (VOC) and priapism in adults might be related to episodes of nocturnal desaturation secondary to a sleep apnea syndrome. Investigator hypothesize that chronic biological consequences of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (hypercoagulability, endothelial dysfunction ...) favour VOC and acute manifestations (nocturnal desaturation) favour nocturnal VOC. The confirmation of this hypothesis will lead investigator to propose a systematic screening of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in patients with nocturnal VOC. Moreover, systematic treatment of OSA in sickle cell patients could help significantly reduce the number and severity of nocturnal VOC.

Bone Architectural Parameters in Postmenopausal Women Affected With Primary Hyperparathyroidism

Bone lesions are frequent in primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). Conventional measurement by Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry does not provide enough information about the bone impact of excessive parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion. High-Resolution peripheral Quantitative Computed Tomography (HR-pQCT) assesses separately cortical and trabecular bone sites as well as geometric characteristics of peripheral skeleton. In postmenopausal women, HR-pQCT has shown that decreased microarchitectural parameters are associated with reduced bone strength independently of BMD. The purpose of this study is to characterize the impact of PHPT in cortical and trabecular bone measured by HR-pQCT in postmenopausal women with PHPT followed for one year, in comparison with control postmenopausal women.

This is a post-marketing observational study of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (specifically, Crohn's disease or Ulcerative Colitis) who have been prescribed CT-P13 (infliximab) or Remicade (infliximab) for treatment. CT-P13 (brand names Inflectra and Remsima) is a biosimilar medicine to Remicade, meaning it is a biologic medicine that contains the same active substance as Remicade (infliximab). The key study objectives are as follows: - To characterize the population and drug utilization patterns of patients treated with CT-P13 for Crohn's Disease (CD) or Ulcerative Colitis (UC) in the context of standard of care Remicade - To explore the long-term safety profile of CT-P13 in the treatment of patients with CD or UC in the context of standard of care Remicade - To assess the effectiveness of CT-P13 in the treatment of patients with CD or UC in the context of standard of care Remicade

Characterization of Anti-FGFR3 Antibodies

Sensory neuronopathies affect sensory neuron in the posterior spinal ganglion. They are responsible for pain, balance disorder (ataxia) and the use of hands. They depend on multiple etiologies. In a retrospective study, the investigators showed that the anti-FGFR3 antibody is a diagnostic marker of a subset of sensory neuronopathies. The investigators believe that other antibodies can be discovered in patients who remain seronegative changing. However, the study is retrospective and only a small number of patients could be identified. Several points therefore need to be clarified or confirmed in a second prospective study.

Pilot Study: Hepatoprotective Role of SMOFlipid® Used in Short-term Parenteral Nutrition in an Onco-Hematology Pediatric Population

Parenteral nutrition (PN) is part of supportive care in oncology Pediatric when the patient's nutritional status justifies it and enteral is impossible. In the literature, hepatotoxicity, cholestasis type, standard emulsions of soy oil-based (type Médialipide®) is described in the context of a long-term PN especially in premature infants. It results in an increase in gammaGT. The most recent use of lipid emulsions containing Omega 3 (Smoflipid), was studied in the adult population and in the preterm in the PN on short and long, with the finding of a hepatoprotection. Investigators do not find a single retrospective study about it in Pediatric Onco-Hematology. No prospective studies have been performed in the population of Onco-Hematology. The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of the use of SMOFlipid® in parenteral nutrition on early occurrence of cholestasis compared with Médialipides in a short-term use of parenteral nutrition in an Onco-Hematology pediatric population.

Diagnosis of Diaphragmatic Paralysis After Interscalene Block: Feasibility and Impact Observed

1. INTRODUCTION AND MAIN OBJECTIVES The incidence of diaphragmatic paralysis after an inter-block scalénique varies between 30 and 100% in the literature. Its clinical impact is mostly absent and paralysis regresses after the block lifted. When it is suspected, it can be diagnosed by a chest radio, showing an elevation of the dome. The objective of this study is to evaluate the incidence of diaphragmatic paralysis by measuring the thickness diaphragmatic as quantitative assessment of diaphragmatic contraction noninvasive ultrasound scan and feasibility of this measure in SSPI unit (post-interventional monitoring unit) with scan (ultrasound) in the usual way used for the block under ultrasound scan. 2. STUDY TYPE Prospective, single-center clinical study routine care involving 50 consecutive patients scheduled to undergo surgical procedures in the area of the shoulder or arm for which locoregional analgesia inter-block type scalénique or supraclavicular ultrasound scan is indicated below. 3. START OF THE STUDY February 2014 with an expected duration of six months.

Efficacy and Tolerance of Sodium Thiosulfate Injection After Ultrasound-guided Percutaneous Irrigation of Calcific Tendinopathy of the Rotator Cuff

Calcific tendinitis of the rotator cuff is a common cause of chronic pain of the shoulder. US- guided needling and lavage of the calcification is one of the therapeutic options after failure of conservative management with physiotherapy and anti-inflammatory drugs. The goal of this procedure is to remove the calcific deposit that is believed to cause the sub-acromial impingement. However, studies have shown that complete and rapid disappearance of the calcification deposit after irrigation is rare. The treatment is thought to promote the spontaneous resorption that occurs the weeks and months after the procedure. However, due to this slow process, time to complete recovery can be long. Moreover, it has been shown an association between the amount of removed calcium and improved outcome. Therefore, there is a need to find a way to remove quickly and completely the calcific deposit after irrigation. Sodium thiosulfate has been used successfully in the treatment of calciphylaxis and subcutaneous calcification deposit. The mechanism of action involves chelation of calcium into calcium thiosulfate salts which are much more soluble than other salts of calcium. Our hypothesis is that injection of sodium thiosulfate after irrigation of the calcification will help to dissolve the calcific deposit and thus prompt the disappearance of the calcification.

Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a common psychiatric illness, with severe prognosis (5% mortality) that has changed little over in half a century. One of the forms is the restrictive anorexia nervosa (ANR). It consists of a phobia of weight gain and food with a massive food restriction. This pathology is studied in psychology but not using the theories of embodied cognition in which "perception and action" interact through sensorimotor processes. They are the source of attitudes (unconscious) towards certain stimuli and influence our interpretation (conscious).
