There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
MRI examinations are potential sources of complications related to the displacement of ferromagnetic objects, but also to heating effects that can go as far as burns. This overheating can be caused by contact with external equipment (sensors, cables, etc.). Patients with skin tattoos may experience specific complications as tingling or "burning" felt at the site of the tattoo. They can be followed by a transient erythema with edema around the reversible tattoo in 12 and 72 hours. One observation of severe 2nd degree burns has been reported. They would be linked to the presence of metallic salts in the dermis, resulting from interactions between the pigments and the magnetic field but their mechanisms are poorly identified and divergent. The aim of this study is to assess the rate of MRI causing complications in patients with tattoos.
FMG2025 continues the previous efforts to propose treatment for patients based on the molecular characteristics of their tumor at treatment failure in cancer precision medicine trials within standard of care in France. However, whereas FMG2025 is a descriptive effort providing the basis for clinical decisions, MAPPYACTS 2 will translate these findings to clinical actions. The symbiosis is critical to advance patient care. Since 2012, the molecular profiling trials "MOlecular Screening for CAncer Treatment Optimization" (MOSCATO-01) and "MoleculAr Profiling for Pediatric and Young Adult Cancer Treatment Stratification" (MAPPYACTS) have included pediatric and adolescent patients with recurrent or refractory malignancy that underwent on-purpose biopsy or surgical intervention. Whole Exome Sequencing of tumor and normal tissue and RNA Sequencing of tumor tissue have been applied to detect genomic alterations that could lead to an adapted targeted treatment. Furthermore, ancillary studies were associated exploring circulating tumor DNA, the immune contexture of tumors and developing Patient-Derived Xenografts (PDX). The FMG2025 project transfers the molecular profiling of advanced pediatric cancers into a global approach that is now considered standard of care in France. Subsequent clinical recommendations and decisions will be made based on discussions with biologists, scientist and physicians in the molecular and clinical molecular tumor boards. Associated ancillary research studies and links to clinical interventional studies remain essential elements of the program to provide clinical, translational and basic research in order to improve scientific knowledge. The program is articulated in two main parts that are closely interacting: FMG2025 - Cancers et leucémies pédiatriques en échec de traitement or equivalent international projects that cover the sequencing of tumor and blood samples and provide molecular reports. The clinical study MAPPYACTS 2 that provides clinical and therapeutic discussions of the sequencing results and therapy recommendations via the clinical molecular tumor board reports. It collects molecular and comprehensive clinical data of the patients registered in FMG2025 or equivalent international projects and thereby constitutes the critical link to clinical interventional studies and its sponsors ensuring facilitated access to these trials. It also covers and coordinates ancillary research studies.
Cerebral Palsy is the most common cause of motor disability in children. It can lead to a deficit of the upper limb which alters the realization of daily activities, in particular in bimanual situations, and eventually leads to a decrease in their participation. Three-dimensional (3D) movement analysis is a tool that provides an accurate and objective measurement of movement. This technology allows us to understand and characterize movement anomalies in order to guide and adapt therapies to the upper limb. The majority of 3D upper limb analysis protocols used to measure the effect of interventions, such as botulinum toxin injections indicated for the treatment of spasticity or other innovative rehabilitative therapies, are unimanual and do not study bimanual function, which is more representative of the actual use of the upper limbs in daily life. Recently, a 3D bimanual analysis protocol called "Be An Airplane Pilot" (BE-API), taking place in an innovative play context, has been developed and validated in PC children. The 2nd version of the protocol (BE API 2.0) also allowed the exploration of new parameters in a bimanual situation such as the fluidity and the trajectory of the movement. In order to determine the interest of the BE API 2.0 protocol in routine clinical evaluation of the upper limbs, its sensitivity to change, i.e. its capacity to detect modifications caused by a therapy on the movements of the upper limbs is necessary (e.g.: Hand and Arm Bimanual Intensive Therapy Including Lower Extremity (HABIT ILE), botulinum toxin injections).
The potential benefit of outpatient care for this common digestive emergency is considerable, both for the patients themselves and for the public health system: 1. Optimization of the care pathway, reducing the length of stay in hospital (a major issue in the context of the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic) liberating patient beds and staff, and reducing the risk of nosocomial exposure. 2. Improved patient satisfaction compared to waiting for hours in the emergency department due to lack of hospital beds. 3. Non-inferiority of care in an outpatient unit in terms of quality and safety in day hospitalization. 4. Significant decrease in the overall cost of this pathology as a result of a reduction in the hospital stay.
Endometriosis is a chronic disease affecting 1 in 10 women. Its diagnosis is difficult and the time between the first symptoms and diagnosis is of about 7 years. diagnosis requires specialized imaging performed by referral practitioners for this pathology. According to current recommendations, non-specialized pelvic ultrasound is the recommended first-line examination. However, only reference ultrasound, performed by a doctor specialized in the disease and carried out according to a specific protocol (such as UBESS), is sufficiently reliable for diagnosis. The number of practitioners performing this type of examination is very low in France, which in practice results in a very low reliability of this strategy in real life. Pelvic MRI is also a much more reliable examination, available for review. However its access is limited. In addition, the false positive rate can be as high as 20%, particularly for minor forms of the disease. The DEVA algorithm has been developed for the identification of women with endometriosis based on a self-administered pelvic pain symptom questionnaire (ENDOPAIN). In a preliminary study, this algorithm seems reliable for identify patients at high risk of this disease and would thus allow to triage patients requiring patients requiring an immediate MRI in order to shorten diagnostic delays. External validation of the algorithm is therefore necessary before clinical use. The main objective od this study is the prospective external validation of the diagnostic reliability of the DEVA algorithm used for the detection of women with endometriosis (visible on MRI or transvaginal ultrasound).
Acute exacerbation of asthma represents an acute or sub-acute worsening in symptoms and lung function in patients with asthma. It is characterized by a progressive increase in symptoms of shortness of breath, cough, wheezing, or chest tightness. It is a common diagnosis in patients admitted in an Emergency Department for dyspnoea. Near 10 to 15% of respiratory symptoms in an ED are related to acute exacerbation of asthma. Treatment of acute exacerbation of asthma associates nebulized beta-2 agonist adrenergic with or without ipratropium bromide, oral corticosteroids and controlled oxygen therapy to maintain SpO2 between 93 and 95%. Treatment in the ED did not vary during last years, including for patients with a lack of efficacy after first line treatment, and exacerbation are always associated with a hospitalisation in 40% of adult patients and with mortality in 1% of hospitalized patients. Vibrating mesh nebulizers are devices using vibration to push drug through the mesh, resulting in the drug nebulization. Vibrating mesh nebulizers have been associated with better pulmonary drug delivery than jet-nebulizers, provide faster improvement in peak expiratory flow and have been associated in retrospective studies with patient prognosis, particularly in terms of throughput time and need for hospitalisation. However, no studies have prospectively compared nebulisation with a vibrating membrane device with standard nebulisation in patients with asthma exacerbation on clinically relevant criteria. Nebulisation with a vibrating membrane device may potentiate the clinical efficacy of short-acting bronchodilators, result in faster and more effective clinical improvement, and be associated with improved short- and medium-term patient outcomes. High-flow nasal cannula heated, and humidified oxygen (HNFO) is a ventilatory support which is commonly used for the management of acute respiratory failure for acute respiratory failure in intensive care units and in emergency departments. HFNO delivers high fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2), generates a low level of positive pressure and provides washout of dead space in the upper airways, thereby improving mechanical pulmonary properties and unloading inspiratory muscles during ARF. Consequently, HFNO is associated with a decrease in the work of breathing. During asthma exacerbation, HFNO was associated with an improvement in the dyspnea level and in the respiratory rate compared with conventional oxygen therapy. However, HFNO has never been assessed in association with nebulized beta-2 adrenergic agonist. To resume, beta-2 adrenergic agonist nebulization with a vibrating mesh nebulizer seems effective, especially compared to standard jet nebulization. In addition, HFNO is a technique that appears to be suitable for the pathophysiological conditions of chronic reversible respiratory failure, and can be used during exacerbations of asthmatic disease. The high flow rate of gas makes it possible to control the FiO2 in order to avoid hyperoxia, to generate a PEEP effect, to reduce the patient's work of breathing and the respiratory resistance, and to avoid the re-inhalation of CO2 by a dead space wash-out. In the EOLE study, the investigators propose to compare three therapeutic management strategies. One standard strategy (nebulisation with a jet-nebulizer), and two experimental strategies (nebulisation with a vibrating mesh device, and nebulisation with a vibrating mesh device in association with HFNO). The investigators hypothesise that bronchodilator nebulization with a vibrating mesh nebulizer is more effective than jet-nebulizers for the management of patients admitted for asthma exacerbation and non-responders or with lack to efficacy to initial treatment. Furthermore, the investigators also hypothesise that the addition of the physiological effects of HFNO may enhance the efficacy of the treatment. The therapeutic effects of nebulisation with a vibrating membrane device alone or with the addition of the physiological effects of HFNO could constitute a new approach to the management of asthma patients, particularly in patients who are insufficiently responsive or non-respondent to initial treatment.

ACTION France is a cross-sectional, observational, descriptive, and exploratory survey-based study without collection of laboratory data. The study is not related to any specific treatment options or pharmaceutical product. Collection of data will be performed via quantitative online survey by a third-party vendor. The goal of this study is to provide insights to drive awareness around the needs of People Living with Obesity (PLwO) and Health Care Professionals (HCPs) involved in obesity treatment and management.
The study is a multicenter, retrospective and prospective, non-randomized, noncontrolled, and consecutive series post-market study. The purpose of this study is collect data confirming safety, performance and clinical benefits of the Quattro® X Suture Anchor with BroadBand™ Tape and Instruments when used in rotator cuff repair. The primary endpoint of this study is the assessment of performance by analyzing soft tissue to bone healing in the shoulder (rotator cuff). Healing will be assessed by the investigator using PROMs and clinical outcomes of the patient. The clinical benefit will be assessed by functional outcomes measured using standard and well-established scoring systems (e.g. Constant & Murley and EQ-5D-5L) at 1 year post-operative. The safety will be assessed by monitoring the incidence and frequency of device- and/or procedure-related adverse events.
