There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) is a common comorbidity of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. A low transcutaneous oxygen tension (PtcO2) measured on the foot is pejorative prognostic factor for the healing of a diabetic foot wound. SAS causes intermittent nocturnal hypoxia and sympathetic overactivity. The investigators hypothesized that SAS could be a factor reducing the PtcO2.Therefore, the main objective of this study is to assess the variation in PtcO2 between the end of the night and midday in patients with -or at risk of- diabetic foot wound according to the presence or not of sleep apnea syndrome. The secondary objective is to address the microvascularisation of diabetic patients having foot wounds according to their status regarding sleep apnea syndrome.
This is the first study where BAY1000394 is given in combination with chemotherapy: cisplatin / etoposide or carboplatin / etoposide. Patients with small cell lung cancer will be treated. Every patient will receive drug treatment, there is no placebo group. Different groups of patients will receive different dosages of BAY1000394 to determine the safety and maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of BAY1000394 in combination with chemotherapy. The dose of chemotherapy is the standard dose usually administered and will not change. The study will also assess how the drug is metabolized by the body and changes in tumor size. BAY1000394 will be given per mouth, twice a day for three days every week. Treatment will stop if the tumor continues to grow, if side effects occur which the patient can not tolerate or if the patients decides to exit treatment.
Even if it is a daily questioning for the stroke physician, no concrete recommendation exists regarding the time-point of the mobilization of stroke patients. In this study, we will compare two mobilisation strategies: early versus delayed "verticalisation". 400 ischemic stroke patients will be included in this prospective randomized controlled trial, equally distributed in two groups. In the early mobilisation procedure the patient is allowed to go and sit outside of the bed the day after the stroke onset, whereas in the other arm, this procedure is delayed to the third day after stroke onset. The outcome in both groups will be assessed by the modified Rankin Scale at 3 months, which is commonly used in stroke study to investigate the functional outcome of the patients.
Chronic renal failure is a serious complication of lung transplantation especially in patients with cystic fibrosis. Their medical history prior to the Lung Transplantation has already exposed to kidney damage. Post-lung transplantation, these patients are subjected to renal toxicity anticalcineurins they receive large doses. The measurement of renal function of patients by formula to estimate GFR in routine use is unreliable and other markers seem indispensable. The purpose of this study is to evaluate two markers, PIIINP (Procollagen III aminoterminal peptide N), whose urinary levels was correlated to the intensity of fibrosis in different types of kidney disease.
Dose finding study to determine the safety and tolerability of Sotatercept (ACE-011) in adults with Beta (β)-Thalassemia
The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate a low rate of emergence of antibiotic resistance in P. aeruginosa and Acinetobacter spp during the treatment of hospitalized patients with pneumonia requiring mechanical ventilation treated with PD optimized meropenem administered as a prolonged infusion in combination with a parenteral aminoglycoside plus tobramycin by inhalation (Group 1) compared to therapy with meropenem alone (Group 2 - control arm).
Limited prospective data is available to compare morbidity and mortality between renal replacement modalities in pediatric acute renal failure. In the absence of clear standard of care, the choice of the extra renal replacement therapy modality is subject to clinical judgement, practical aspects, and costs. This study will supply important data about usual modalities of pediatric acute extra renal replacement therapy and their impact on patient outcome and renal recovery. An obvious next step will be to conduct a randomized controlled trial comparing the different strategies.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether (VNS) Vagus Nerve Stimulation , is effective in the treatment of Crohn's disease.
Breast cancer is the first cancer in women, the second etiology of death by cancer and the first cause for women between 35 and 55 years. Diagnostic tools and large screening have been realized with positive impact in a recent review with 31% less likely to die of breast cancer over nearly 30 years compared to women who didn't get regular screening mammograms. Diagnostic tools and treatment also are improving continuously. However, for some women, breast cancer diagnosis is difficult, in case of high density breast, breast modifications after surgery… In these cases, breast MRI is currently the best imaging tool, with high sensitivity about 90% but with a lower specificity about 60%, that lead to futile biopsies. Recently, molecular imaging with PET-CT scan with 18FDG has permitted to widely modify cancer treatment. However, PET-CT scan is not a good imaging tool for initial diagnostic of breast tumor because of a lack in spatial resolution about 8mm. So, researchers developed dedicated PET scan for breast, called Positron Emission Mammography. Our project is in this field of view and is named CLEARPEMSONIC. First clinical studies with PEM showed very good performance of this imaging modality for initial evaluation of breast tumors. PEM performance is not affected by breast density, hormonal status. Spatial resolution is less than 3mm. PEM seems complementary with MRI, adding a better specificity value. In the field of CERIMED, ClearPemSonic Project aims to evaluate an new imaging tool which combined PEM scan and ultrasonography. Technologic evaluation was made. Now a feasibility study is the first step for clinical applications. The main objective of this project is to confirm the feasibility of PEM scan with the ClearPEmSonic. Secondary objectives are to compare results with other conventional imaging modalities and MRI. The gold standard will be histology of the breast tumor.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of AMG 747 on negative symptoms of schizophrenia in patients who are stable on current antipsychotic treatment. After a run-in period on their current antipsychotic treatment, patients will be randomized to one of the four treatment arms as add-on therapy for a treatment duration of up to 3 months.
