There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The principal aim of this interventional, multicentre study is to compare the impact of a follow-up by monthly telephone dietetic consultations, started 3 months after discharge from hospital, for a period of 3 months, on the energy intake in patients elderly people recently hospitalized for Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Coronavirus disease Positive group "Covid (+)", or not, Coronavirus disease Negative group"Covid (-)". The main outcome measure is to compare the total energy intake at 6 months, after 3 months of dietary consultations, between Coronavirus disease Positive group "Covid (+)" and Coronavirus disease negative group "Covid (-)".
Subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) has become a choice treatment for fluctuating Parkinson's disease (PD) patients, inducing remarkable improvement in motor symptoms. However, as PD is a complex neuropsychiatric disease, it has been hypothesized that in some patients, non-motor features, i.e. dysfunctional expectations for the result of neurosurgery, could interfere with postoperative result of DBS, even in case of motor improvement. Recent literature highlights the necessity to take these preoperative expectations into account, but to our knowledge, no specific scale investigating these cognitions in this PD-specific condition is available. So, the investigators developped the DBS-PS, a self-scale constructed to measure preoperative expectations for DBS, with 11 questions and visuo-analogical responses (1 to 10), theorically divided in three domains investigating the expectations concerning symptoms of PD, postoperative social-life and leisures, and postoperative familial and marital sphere. The investigators would like to validate this new-developped scale in the preoperative subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation population through patients recruited in the Predistim study, whereas the investigators did not recruite sufficiently patients through the PsyParkinson study, the one in which the DBS-PS scale was developed. The DBS-PS constitutes an interesting basis for the consideration of these cognitive and affective factors in preoperative PD patients.
Evaluation of a new screening method for sarcopenia in rheumatoid arthritis
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of MP1032 with standard of care (SoC) verses placebo with SoC in hospitalized adults participants with moderate to severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In patients with chronic low back pain, the Fremantle Back Awareness Questionnaire (FreBAQ) measures the duration and intensity of pain and functional limitations. The FreBAQ is a simple tool created to assess disturbances in the body representation of the back, and the only one existing in chronic low back pain. It is a 9-item self-questionnaire in which each item is measured on a 5-point Likert scale ranging from "Never (score of 0)" to "Always (score of 4)". It assesses neglect, perceived body image of the back, accuracy in proprioceptive perception of back movements. The psychometric properties of the FreBAQ in English, Japanese, Dutch, Turkish and German are validated and acceptable; however, they have never been studied in French and no validated version of this questionnaire in French exists. The study investigators hypothesize that the French version of the FreBAQ has good psychometric qualities, allowing it to be used in the French chronic low back pain population.
Small bowel obstruction surgery is frequent and would benefit from enhanced recovery programs. While some studies advocate for their feasibility, it has never been proved and prospective studies are required to confirm the feasibility of such program and the impact on postoperative outcomes.
In multiple Sclerosis (MS), storage and voiding symptoms are well described. Urodynamic patterns underlying storage symptoms are clearly defined, but the assessment of voiding phase in neurological diseases is a sensitive topic. The international continence society (ICS) recommended performing pressure flow studies to assess voiding phase. Assessments of sphincter relaxation and detrusor contractility during voiding phase are tough aims to achieve. Indeed, there is no consensus for the detrusor contractility assessment on women or on patients with neurogenic bladder. Similarly, assessment of sphincter during bladder filling and during the voiding phase is not included in ICS recommendations. In the end, it is the physicians who conclude from the non-formalized urodynamic data if there is a DSD or detrusor underactivity. In MS patients undergoing urodynamics, studies reported 43% DSD and 12% impaired contractility. These data should be interpreted with caution due to the variability of the assessment methods. This study aims to describe the voiding phase of MS patients with standardized urodynamic evaluation and parameters. This prospective observational study was conducted in a neuro-urology department of a French university hospital. All the MS patients consulting for a first urodynamic evaluation without urinary treatment were included. Standardized urodynamic evaluation included an uroflowmetry, urethral pressure profile, two pressure-flow studies. If no detrusor contractility was observed during the pressure flow studies, cystometries with 100ml/min filling rate and ice water test were performed. Anal sphincter activity was recorded using surface electromyography electrodes. Demographic data (age, sex), disease course of the MS, treatments, Expanded Disability Status Scale, urinary symptoms using the Urinary Symptom Profile and the Neurogenic Bladder Symptom Score were collected. For assessment of detrusor contractility, the following parameters are reported: the bladder voiding efficiency; the projected isovolumetric pressure (PIP) or bladder contractility index (BCI); the Watts factor. For women, the investigators presented 3 more parameters the PIP1; the Valentini-besson-Nelson parameter k and an urodynamic cut-off proposed by Gammie et al. for DUA. Presence of Detrusor-sphincter dyssynergia was reported if there were a detrusor contraction concurrent with an involuntary contraction of the periurethral striated muscle.
The recommendations for the treatment of MDR tuberculosis are based on pulmonary tuberculosis since there is a lack of specific recommendations for TB bone and osteoarticular disease, including those due to multi drug resistance strains (MDR IOATB). Given the lack of data regarding MDR IOATB, it may be helpful to study the diagnosis, medical treatment, surgical indications and prognosis of a cohort of MDR IOATB patients.
Vitiligo is a common chronic autoimmune disease that causes the body's immune system to attack its own pigment producing skin cells. This study is to evaluate how safe and effective upadacitinib is in participants with non-segmental vitiligo. Adverse effects and change in disease activity will be assessed. Upadacitinib is being evaluated for the treatment of non-segmental vitiligo. The study will enroll approximately 160 participants aged 18-65 with non-segmental vitiligo in 5 treatment arms across 35 sites worldwide. Participants will either receive study drug vs placebo oral tablets once daily (QD) for 24 weeks (Period A). In Period B (up to 52 weeks), participants who received placebo during the first 24 weeks will switch to study drug. Participants who received study drug during the first 24 weeks, will continue to receive study drug. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.
This study aims to evaluate the impact on myocardial reperfusion and residual thrombotic burden of adding Cangrelor -a potent and immediate P2Y12 inhibitor- to ticagrelor in primary PCI patients with high on ticagrelor platelet reactivity compared to standard of care with ticagrelor alone.
