Shoulder Muscle Imbalance as a Risk Factor for Shoulder Injury in Elite Badminton Players

Background: To assess the impact of pre-season clinical measures and rotator muscles strength on the risk of significant shoulder injury (SSI) in elite badminton players Design: Prospective cohort study Participants: Nineteen elite adolescents badminton players were included and followed over the badminton season (from september 2018 to may 2019 and/or from september 2019 to may 2020) . Independent variables: A pre-season visit consisted in clinical and isokinetic shoulder strength testing. Clinical testing consisted in the shoulder range of motion (ROM) measurements and the table-to-acromion distance (TAD)Isokinetic internal and external rotator shoulder muscles strength was tested at 60 and 240°/s. Conventional and functional (eccentric-to-concentric) ratios (FR) were calculated. SSI collection was performed by an experienced sport physician.

It is therefore essential to estimate the overall consumption of medical and non-medical resources by patients with PD in order to characterize the share of medical and non-medical care reimbursed by health insurance, the share of medical and non-medical care not reimbursed. by health insurance, as well as the share of formal and informal care in order to identify potential economic barriers to an optimal care path for patients with PD. It is also necessary to have information on the socio-economic characteristics and the place of residence of the resident in order to estimate the impact of these determinants on an optimal course of care.

Assessing the Impact of the COVID-19 Lockdown on Metabolic Control and Access to Health Care in Patients With Diabetes

The outbreak of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease-2019) in December 2019 has led to an unprecedented international health situation. Exceptional measures have been taken by public authorities worldwide in order to slow the spread of the virus and prevent healthcare systems from becoming overloaded. In France, a national lockdown has been established during approximately 2 months to increase social distancing and restrict population movements. Hospital routine care appointments have been cancelled, in order to reallocate medical resources towards COVID-19 units and limit contacts between patients within hospitals or waiting rooms. While the virus itself, the disease and potential treatments are currently extensively studied, little data are available on the effect of these public health decisions on the management of a chronic condition such as diabetes. The French regional CONFI-DIAB study aims at assessing the collateral impact of routine care cancellation during the national lockdown due to COVID-19 in patients with a chronic condition such as diabetes. Special attention will be given to metabolic control and access to health care. This cross-sectional study should provide information on the consequences of a global lockdown and the associated routine care cancellation on the management of diabetes, and inform future decision making in the event of a new pandemic.

Gepotidacin is a new antibiotic that may potentially be used to treat prostatic infections and pharyngeal gonorrhoea. To date, no data exists on gepotidacin pharmacokinetics in those tissues. The present study is being carried out to determine concentrations of gepotidacin in plasma, prostate and tonsillar tissue of patients undergoing radical prostatectomy (RPE) for localized prostate, simple prostatectomy (PE) for benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) or tonsillectomy (TE). This will contribute to a more complete understanding of the drug's penetration to its site of action.

This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of belantamab mafodotin in combination with pomalidomide and dexamethasone (Arm A) compared with that of combination of pomalidomide, bortezomib and dexamethasone (Arm B) in participants with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM).
