There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The study is a multifaceted approach to investigate the effects of regular consumption of green coffee rich in polyphenols (hydroxycinnamic acids) on weight, body composition, cardiometabolic and inflammatory biomarkers in a sample population of overweight and obese people aimed at identifying a population of responders to green coffee experimenting the highest benefit from this product, and to contribute to the understanding of the influence of some of the main factors on the response to green coffee and their association with the differences between individuals (high-responders vs. low-responders).
This study was designed to compare the efficacy and safety of I-DXd with treatment of physician's choice in participants with relapsed small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
The main objective of the project is to determine the variation of PaO2 / FiO2 (PaFi) after the use of mechanical insufflation-exsufflation (MI-E) or mechanical cough assistant in the donor in brain death (DBD) and in the potential donor in control donor after circulatory death (cDCD) It is a randomized prospective multicentre study. Four centres with a solid organ donation program will participate in the study, the Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona (HCB), the Germans Tries y Pujol Hospital (HGTP), the Marqués de Valdecilla Hospital (HMV) and the Vall d'Hebron Hospital (HVH). One hundred and sixty consecutive eligible donors will be included in DBD and cDCD older than 18 years. - P1: Eighty donors will be maintained following national guidelines. - P2: Eighty donors will be maintained following national guidelines and: - Manual techniques of secretion drainage - Two sequences separated for 1 min of 6 cycles each of MI-E(Cough Assist E70, Respironics Philips. Demographic variables of the donor and recipient will be collected, as well as differences in PaFi, static compliance, and radiographic changes between P1 and P2 donors. The percentage of lung donors recovered by P2 with respect to P1 will be analyzed.
The use of flow-diverting stents for the endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms has proven to be effective and efficient in several clinical studies, leading to its widespread adoption. Devices with a higher number of filaments have a greater flow-diverting effect and less variation when there are changes in the caliber of the underlying vessel or in curved vessels. However, ischemic complications secondary to their implantation have been reported, prompting the development of various strategies to reduce their thrombogenicity. Phenox is the only company to date that has developed an anti-thrombogenic coating, known as HPC (Hydrophilic Polymer Coating), which, when applied to the p64 MW HPC and p48 MW HPC devices, has shown to reduce the likelihood of thromboembolic complications associated with their implantation.
The main objective is to analyze post-surgical periodontal healing after conventional periodontal surgery where an absorbable suture coated with clorhexidine (Novosyn Clorhexidine) versus conventional sutures without chlorhexidine (Novosyn) will be used a pilot randomized clinical study has been designed. Up to authors´ knowledge until now there are no studies to evaluate periodontal healing after periodontal surgery in combination with this kind of sutures.
The study included boys and girls with neurodevelopmental disorders between the ages of 3 and 16 years, belonging to two educational centers in Madrid, attended by children with this type of disorder. Both centers have similar characteristics in terms of the type of feeding and management of the children attending them. The study will be randomized, so that probiotics will be administered to some children and placebos to others; and blinded, so that neither the patient nor his family will know whether probiotic or placebo is administered. The aim of this project is to study the results obtained on microbiota, intestinal permeability, language, behavior and learning of a probiotic combination that will be administered to children in several educational centers that care for children with neurodevelopmental disorders for 5 months.
This is an observational, non-interventional, and prospective post authorization safety study (PASS) that will describe the real-world proportion of patients that achieve nintedanib-associated diarrhoea control after 12 weeks of follow-up, in hospital settings in Spain. It will include outpatients (i.e., those attending ambulatory visits) with interstitial lung diseases (IPF) and other progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF) treated with nintedanib (150 mg bid) and having a first episode of diarrhoea after nintedanib initiation.
The main objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of radiofrequency on pain associated with primary dysmenorrhea. The data collected will be: Intensity of pain with the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), pressure pain at three points of referred pain from the gynecological system, need or not to take medication, general quality of life with the SF-12 (short form 12) and quality of life in relation to menstruation with the CVM-22. They will be collected at the start of treatment, after the first post-intervention menstruation and after the second post-intervention menstruation. This study is a randomized clinical trial with two intervention groups and a control group, whose study population is women with primary dysmenorrhea. The sample size has been calculated with the G* Power 1.9.7 software using repeated measures ANOVA, assuming a two-sided significance level (α=0.05) and 90% power (β=0.10) and 10% losses. A sample of 45 participants (n) was determined to detect a significant change of 1.5 points in the variable measured with the NRS. Forty-five participants were included in this study. In the two intervention groups, radiofrequency will be applied (20 minute sessions for 3 weeks with a frequency of 3 times/week), transabdominal in one group and intravaginal in the other. Participants must be women between 18 and 35 years old, with regular menstrual cycles (22-38 days according to FIGO), be nulliparous and also not present any of the exclusion criteria detailed in the study. The data obtained will be analyzed and compared between the different groups in order to draw conclusions.
The goal of this clinical trial is to test and compare the effects of a tailored algorithm recommendation of sport activities concreted in challenges to improve some critical performance dimensions. Q1: Improving participant performance is achieved by using personalized sports activity recommendation using an algorithm and tracking compliance using a decentralized application (dApp)? Q2: Are participants satisfied with the performance and simplicity of the dApp used? Participants will be asked to do specific activities recommended by the developed recommender system. The activities to be carried out will be conditioned by the profile obtained from each participant at the beginning of the intervention. They will consist of reinforcement activities for the dimensions with the lowest scores. Researchers will compare a experimental group and a control group to see if the dimensions assessed at the beginning of the intervention were improved.
Transient mild hypothermia (core body temperature 35-32°C) is common and usually without consequences for the brain or other organs. However, prolonged severe accidental hypothermia (core body temperature below 28°C) due to accidents is rare, and usually fatal in more than 50% of cases. Little is known on its physiopathology, on prognostic factors for rewarming decision or ideal rewarming techniques for better survival. Furthermore, complications after successful rewarming are extremely frequent and very often severe or fatal. Accidental hypothermia is a frequent problem during the winter months and can be caused by snow sport accidents, near drowning and urban cold exposure. The International Hypothermia Registry's principle goal is to increase knowledge on accidental hypothermia by creating the largest database on accidental hypothermia which will comprise enough patient data to give a statistical power since the causes of accidental hypothermia and its treatment varies greatly. The International Hypothermia Registry (IHR) will enable improvement of pre- and in-hospital treatment and rewarming methods, study survival predictors and prevention of post-rewarming complications. By this way, the IHR will permit the establishment of evidence-based diagnosis and treatment guidelines.
