There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The main objective of this study is to analyze the effect of dry needling of the soleus muscle to modulate muscle tone in healthy non-injured subjects. The secondary objective is to study if effects occur due to changes in the neural or mechanical component (or both). Hypothesis: Deep Dry Needling of the latent medial Myofascial Trigger Point (MTrP) of the soleus muscle produces changes in muscle tone varying the passive resistance torque at a rate of 180º/ s.
Individuals with schizophrenia have important and persistent deficits in multiple neurocognitive domains as well as in the Social Cognition (SC). SC refers to the mental operations underlying social behavior, and it is understood as a multidimensional construct that comprises emotional processing (EP), social perspective and knowledge, attributional bias and theory of mind (ToM) or mentalizing. Mentalizing and EP skills have been the two most studied subdomains of SC in schizophrenia. Both domains have been found to be impaired in chronic schizophrenia patients as well as in patients in early stages of the illness. In this context, although negative symptoms may play and important role, females seem to perform better than males in ToM and EP tasks, suggesting the presence of gender differences in the SC skills in patients with schizophrenia. However, to our knowledge, there are no studies that have explored the gender-related differences between cognitive and affective ToM and its relationship with the EP performance in schizophrenia patients of recent diagnosis comparing with healthy subjects. In this line, the main objective of this project is to analyze the influence of gender in the cognitive and affective ToM abilities, in a group of patients with schizophrenia in early stages of the illness comparing with healthy subjects. Secondarily, this study pretends to explore the association between EP skills and affective ToM tasks performance in males and females with and without recent diagnosis of schizophrenia.
This is a cross-sectional, multicenter observational study to assess quality of life in young Spanish women (aged 18 to 29) who use Jaydess® as their contraceptive method. The study will be conducted in standard clinical practice conditions at the private gynecology clinics and during a single study visit. Approximately 1,200 women who have been using the intrauterine delivery system (IUS) Jaydess® as their contraceptive method of choice for 6 (±1) months will be included in the study.
1. Introduction: The most common complication of loop ileostomies closure for rectal cancer patients undergoing a low anterior rectum resection, is the superficial surgical site infection (incidence 2-40%). There are various techniques related to closing loop ileostomy. In a retrospective study at our center, the investigators objectify that superficial surgical site infection rate was reduced by more than a half by the application of a contralateral drainage (Penrose ®) in primary loop ileostomy closure. 2. Objectives and Hypothesis: Hypothesis: The application of a contralateral drainage (Penrose ®) in primary loop ileostomy closure (in carriers of loop ileostomy by a low anterior rectum resection for rectal cancer) reduces the superficial surgical site infection. Main objective: To reduce the rate of superficial surgical site infection by the application of a contralateral drainage (Penrose ®) in surgical wound of primary loop ileostomy closure. 3. Methodology: Prospective and randomized clinical trial on the effectiveness of contralateral Penrose® drainage implementation in those patients that have a primary loop ileostomy (by low anterior rectum resection) closure to be able to know if the investigators can reduce the superficial surgical site infection rate. Monitorization until 30 days after surgery
The primary objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of sacituzumab govitecan to the treatment of physician's choice (TPC) as measured by independently-reviewed Independent Review Committee (IRC) progression-free survival (PFS) in participants with locally advanced or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) previously treated with at least two systemic chemotherapy regimens for unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic disease, and without brain metastasis at baseline.
The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of VPRIV therapy (60 units per kilogram [U/kg] every other week [EOW]) in treatment-naive participants with type 1 Gaucher disease on change from baseline in lumbar spine (LS) bone mineral density (BMD) Z-score as measured by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) after 24 months of treatment.
This study seeks to determine whether the addition of ABT-414 to concomitant radiotherapy and temozolomide (TMZ) followed by combination of ABT-414 with adjuvant TMZ prolongs overall survival (OS) among participants with newly diagnosed glioblastoma (GBM) with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) amplification. In addition, there is a Phase 1, open-label, multicenter sub-study to assess the pharmacokinetics, safety and tolerability of ABT-414 in participants with newly diagnosed EGFR-amplified GBM who have mild or moderate hepatic impairment.
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of ramucirumab plus MEDI4736 in participants with locally advanced and unresectable or metastatic gastrointestinal or thoracic malignancies including gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
The purpose of the trial was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two different doses of QVM149 (QVM149 150/50/80 μg and QVM149 150/50/160 μg via Concept1) over two respective QMF149 doses (QMF149 150/160 μg and QMF149 150/320) μg via Concept1 in poorly controlled asthmatics as determined by pulmonary function testing and effects on asthma control.
