There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary objective of this study is to compare all-cause mortality at Day 14 in participants receiving cefiderocol with participants receiving the comparator, meropenem, in adults with hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia (HABP), ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (VABP), or healthcare-associated bacterial pneumonia (HCABP) caused by Gram-negative pathogens.
Phase 1: The European ASV Registry (short name) will investigate the use of Adaptive Servo-Ventilation in non-heart failure conditions. The purpose is to examine the effects of ASV on quality of life, daytime symptoms and sleep, to describe usage patterns of ASV with regards to patient characteristics and to document adverse events related to therapy for a therapy safety analysis. A pilot phase will enrol at least 200 patients to test the feasibility of the registry. After the pilot phase will be completed and an intermediate data analysis had been performed, the registry will be expanded over several countries across Europe with the goal of enrolling up to 800 patients over a period of 5 years. Phase 2: The READ-ASV Registry (short name) will investigate the use of Adaptive Servo-Ventilation in non-heart failure conditions. The purpose is to examine the effects of ASV on quality of life, daytime symptoms and sleep, to describe usage patterns of ASV with regards to patient characteristics and to document adverse events related to therapy for a therapy safety analysis.
This was a double-blind, placebo-controlled, event-driven randomized withdrawal study to investigate the efficacy and safety of secukinumab treatment in the Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) categories of Juvenile Psoriatic Arthritis (JPsA) and Enthesitis-related Arthritis (ERA). The study was divided into 3 parts (plus a post-treatment follow-up period) consisting of open-label, single-arm active treatment in Treatment Periods 1 and 3 and a randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, event-driven withdrawal design in Treatment Period 2
Bleeding on probing demonstrated to have high specificity with certain level of sensitivity to detect periodontal disease. Again, understanding the weak hemidesmosome attachment to the implant surface is imperative to discern on the probe penetration extent and subsequent bleeding. In the presence of inflammation, bleeding should be present indicating high sensitivity when probing deeper sites; nevertheless the lack thereof in healthy condition does not seem to translate high specificity. In this sense, it is noteworthy to mention that the mucogingival shift after implant placement often decreases the presence of keratinized mucosa, triggering a greater inflammatory condition on the peri-implant tissues. Thereupon, bleeding on probing, although might reliably indicate presence of disease, it does not seem to be a suitable diagnostic parameter. On the other side, suppuration characterizes the necrosis of peri-implant tissues, being rich in polymorphonuclear cells and as such, a sensitive indicator of bone turnover. In this sense, it must be noted that, if detected in early stages where bone resorption has not occurred yet, it might be a consequence of a foreign body reaction (i.e., residual cement or floss). Therefore, in the diagnosis of peri-implantitis, radiographic examination must be always incorporated to the clinical assessment as the 'gold standard'. Hence, the aim of this case-control study was to assess the diagnostic accuracy of peri-implantitis-related clinical parameters compared to otherwise healthy dental implants.
This is a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized-withdrawal, multicenter study of the efficacy and safety of JZP-258.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of eccentric exercise combined with vibration or cryotherapy in Achilles tendon pathology. The investigators hypothesis is that the combined eccentric exercise is better than the results presented by the exclusive eccentric exercise. This intervention differs from the classic studies in that we maintain the intensity throughout the treatment.
The project presented here will be the first prospective, randomized evaluation of the effect of ART on the structure and function of the gut microbiome. This study provides a unique opportunity to understand the benefits of ART with high intestinal penetration on the gut microbiome. It is thus a key study to understand the bidirectional interactions between the microbiome and the host in people living with HIV/AIDS.
The purpose of this multi-center study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of daprodustat in subjects with anemia associated with CKD.
This is an experimental study in which the efficacy of three psychophysiological intervention modalities based on retrieval-extinction procedures is analyzed.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and hence, estimating its prevalence is important. Since 2007, there are few data on the prevalence of COPD in the general population in Spain. The main objective of this epidemiological observational study is to estimate the prevalence of COPD in residents of Spain among the population over 40 years of age. The subjects will be distributed in two groups depending on the presence and absence of COPD. The study will have a single visit in which a brief interview will take place and subjects will need to complete the medical tests the case report form with a series of questionnaires. No drugs will be administered in this study.
